"A place you say?!" Song Tianyu began to think.
"I need so place quiet where I can plan my journey further." Gu Fan told Song Tianyu.
"If big brother requires a secluded place, then I have the perfect place," Song Tianyu declared suddenly, "Co, let show it to you."
And with that he eagerly led the masked senior away from the bustling rchant district, quickly navigating him through the sprawling territory of the Song Clan estate until they reached a highly secluded, beautiful courtyard hidden deep within a thick bamboo grove that was completely shielded from the prying eyes of the rest of his family.
"This private courtyard belongs solely to , big brother, and absolutely no one else in the Song Clan is permitted to step foot near it without my explicit jade token," Song Tianyu explained proudly as he pushed open the heavy ironwood gates, gesturing for Gu Fan to step inside the massive compound.
Gu Fan walked through the gates with his hands clasped behind his back, his eyes imdiately looking around the massive property that boasted five lavishly decorated wooden pavilions with polished jade floors, a serene ditation garden filled with fragrant spiritual flowers, and a crystal-clear water stream flowing directly behind the main building.
"I actually planned the entire layout of this courtyard myself to ensure perfect tranquility for my cultivation," Song Tianyu added enthusiastically, "There is even a defensive array to protect anyone inside from the attacks of anyone under the Nascent Soul Realm."
Gu Fan nodded in satisfaction as he observed the quiet environnt and the excellent defensive layout it provided.
"This is a perfect place for seclusion, Brother Tianyu, and the defensive array nodes you have set up are surprisingly profound," Gu Fan praised Song Tianyu, acting like a supre senior appraising a junior’s work.
After the two of them were done with the tour of the pavilion, the two young n sat outside on a smooth stone bench in the tranquil ditation garden to watch the sun slowly drown behind the jagged western mountains.
Song Tianyu pulled out a botel of wine from his spatial ring and carefully poured two cups of it for the two of them.
Song Tianyu slid the jade cup across the stone table while keeping his eyes locked onto the black cloth mask covering Gu Fan’s lower face.
"Big brother, your knowledge of the Dao is entirely heaven-defying since you solved my beast-blood backlash with a single glance, so I cannot help but wonder which supre hidden faction or ancient sect actually managed to produce a peerless monster like you," Tianyu asked respectfully, trying to casually steer the conversation toward his new brother’s hidden past since he was burning with intense curiosity.
"You are quite the curios one, brother Tianyu," Gu Fan chuckled behind his mask, "The cultivation world is far too dangerous right now, little brother, and the enemies I have made along my martial path are far too terrifying for you to comprehend."
"I will tell you my story when you are actually strong enough to survive the truth."
"Today is your day," Gu Fan said, "You should tell more about you."
But Song Tianyu wanted to understand the massive gap between their realms, Tianyu subtly released a very thin, highly concentrated sliver of his Origin Realm spiritual sense to secretly scan the masked man’s ridians, but his Qi probe was sucked in and it vanished the second it touched Gu Fan’s body, completely swallowed up by his broken ridians and the Ancient Venom Physique.
The utter lack of any spiritual response left Tianyu feeling like he had just stared directly into a bottomless, deadly abyss.
The unfathomable depth of his new brother’s aura completely terrified and amazed him at the sa ti.
This only further solidified his unshakeable belief that Gu Fan was an incredibly accomplished, hidden expert hiding from heavenly tribulations.
Soon Song Tianyu let his guard down under the influence of the strong spirit wine and he sighed looking out at the fading sunset with a deeply frustrated expression.
"You know brother! My father apart from the continuous seclusion and cultivation forces to constantly practice trivial rchant haggling."
"I have to take shit from every scum or rogue cultivators, but stay patient, keep that smiling face."
"And if that was not enough, I have to deal with those scheming sect elders wanting to tear my father apart, take away my authority every single day."
"I feel completely trapped inside a cage."
"But my blood actually boils to uphold true justice and fight for what is right," Tianyu confessed bitterly, slamming his fist onto the stone table because he despised the suffocating discipline expected of him.
"I desperately want to run away from this pathetic valley."
"I want to explore the forbidden zone, temper my body against terrifying demonic beasts with my bare hands, and fiercely clash weapons with the absolute strongest heaven-chosen geniuses on this continent."
"But instead I am left counting spirit stones like a fat belly mortal shopkeeper!"
Gu Fan listened intently to the young master’s naive ambitions and smiled. He knew Song Tianyu. This guy was so cute and innocent.
He had the purest of hearts in the whole story. Behind that handso face, Song Tianyu was actually just a repressed battle-junkie, who wanted to conquer the world under his feet.,
Feeling pity for Song Tianyu, Gu fan placed a firm, reassuring hand on Tianyu’s broad shoulder.
"Then we will shatter that pathetic cage together, brother Tianyu," Gu Fan promised with a dominant tone, as he stared into Tianyu’s eyes. "I will personally drag you through the bloodiest battlefields and show you the true, ruthless Dao, and I guarantee that one day we will both stand completely unchallenged at the absolute pinnacle of the cultivation world."
"You really think it is possible, Brother?" Moved by the promise, Song Tianyu wiped a stray tear from his eye and asked.
"Everything is possible, Brother Tianyu... You just have to believe in yourself and fight anyone who stands in your way," Gu Fan told Song Tianyu, "Even if it’s the Heaven’s Will, you don’t back off."
"And I can promise you one thing," Gu Fan looked Song Tianyu in the eye and said, "You will always find beside you."
"And I will stand in front of you, brother. Your enemies have to go through to reach you." Song Tianyu pledged his absolute loyalty to Gu Fan and his journey.
"That is incredibly touching, little brother, but if we are going to conquer this continent together, we can’t do it with just words," Gu Fan stated, turning the conversation strictly toward business, "Are you willing to buy so high-grade spiritual artifacts off my hands right now to help fund our future conquests?"
"Absolutely, big brother, whatever you have, I will take it!" Tianyu agreed eagerly to prove his worth.
Gu Fan casually flicked his wrist and dumped ten pristine pairs of Spirit-Grade ’Windchaser Boots’ directly onto the stone table.
"These are highly refined movent artifacts that can drastically increase a cultivator’s agility, and I am willing to part with them for two thousand dium-Grade Spirit Stones a pair," Gu Fan offered with a confident smirk beneath his mask, knowing full well he was charging an absurd, heavily inflated premium for the items, "Your Song Clan Pavilion should be able to send them for good enough profits."
"Don’t worry Big Brother... I will take care of everything else. If You ever have anything to sell, just give it to ," Song Tianyu didn’t even bother haggling, he just pulled out a glowing, intricately carved jade dallion from his storage ring.
"This is a supre crystal-card issued directly by the Golden Dragon Chamber of Comrce, big brother," Tianyu explained respectfully as he placed the glowing card on the table.
The ntion of the Golden Dragon Chamber of Comrce prompted Gu Fan to instantly rember from his author knowledge that this specific rchant guild practically controlled the banking and economy of the entire central continent.
"It currently holds exactly thirty-eight thousand sothing dium-Grade Spirit Stones, which is more than enough to cover the boots, and you can have all of it to fund your journey," Song Tianyu told Gu Fan.
And then without a single mont of hesitation, Tianyu gathered a sharp pulse of his Origin Realm Qi and forcefully expelled his own spiritual imprint from the jade card, pushing it across the table so Gu Fan could easily inject his own pure Yang Qi into the artifact to successfully establish absolute ownership over the massive fortune.
"This haul of artifacts is going to be incredibly useful for our Song pavilions, big brother, so I will take my leave now to arrange everything you requested," Tianyu declared respectfully as the dark night finally settled over the secluded courtyard, standing up and bowing deeply before quickly vanishing into the dark bamboo grove.
"I will co visit you here tomorrow."
And with that Song Tianyu turned around to leave. And the absolute second the noble genius disappeared from sight, a crisp, highly satisfying electronic chi echoed directly inside Gu Fan’s skull, instantly pulling up a glowing blue interface in the cool night air.
