The little one seed to understand her reassurance, whimpering softly twice, his crying quieter now.
Hanjie stood by the slightly ajar door, peering through the crack, watching the mother and child nestled close together, warmth spreading through his chest.
He didn’t rush in, just quietly watched.
Qin Youxuan was very patient, gently soothing her son, repeatedly moving his hands away from his eyes, patting his little chest.
"Tingye needs to be good; after applying dicine, your eyes will get better quickly. Then mommy will take you to see grandpa, okay?"
The little one smacked his lips, babbling in response, his serious little manner seed as though he truly understood.
After several applications of the dicine, Tingye adapted and stopped crying.
Exhausted, he started to yawn and wanted to sleep.
Qin Youxuan quickly picked him up to nurse him.
From start to finish, she never noticed that soone had been standing by the door the whole ti, gazing unblinkingly at the mother and child, his eyes filled with deep affection.
"Mr. Jie..."
The butler spotted Hanjie by the door and was slightly taken aback.

Hanjie gestured for silence, glancing back at the room’s occupants, reined in his eyes, and turned to go downstairs.
Qin Youxuan kept taking care of her son upstairs, unaware of how much ti had passed before she ca down.
"Butler, please get a juice, thank you."
Qin Youxuan stretched, just reaching the sofa when she saw the man seated there, startling suddenly.
She turned to go back upstairs.
As she started walking, a pair of strong arms encircled her waist and pulled her into an embrace.
"Is your back pain acting up again?"
Tingye was born prematurely, and Qin Youxuan had taken a long ti to recuperate postpartum, still suffering from minor back pain.
She got uncomfortable if she stayed in the sa position for too long.
In the past, whenever she felt discomfort, she would snuggle into Hanjie’s embrace for a massage.
Now, as strangers, Qin Youxuan had long forgotten she once had the privilege to capriciously cling to him.
"Hanjie, let go of !"
Qin Youxuan shook off his hand, stepping back sharply, nearly bumping into the butler carrying the juice.
Hanjie caught her wrist deftly, pulling her back into his arms.
With a slight turn, he steadied himself, holding her.
"Sorry, madam, are you okay?" the butler blurted out in shock, quickly setting the juice down on the coffee table.
"Such carelessness, how do you manage the villa?" Hanjie’s voice was stern as he frowned unhappily.
Had he not moved swiftly, that glass of juice would have spilled over Qin Youxuan.
"Don’t bla the butler, it was clearly my fault for carelessly bumping into him, what does it have to do with anyone else?" Qin Youxuan retorted, sowhat taken aback.
"He didn’t notice you moving back imdiately, that’s negligence on his part; there’s no reason a servant shouldn’t make way for their master."
"Why don’t you bla yourself then? If it weren’t for your ddling, I wouldn’t have stepped back and almost collided with the butler. You’re the real culprit here, insisting on blaming others."
Qin Youxuan snapped back without a second thought, her face unabashedly furious.
"Madam, it’s all my fault, please don’t be angry with Mr. Jie, I’ll take my punishnt now," the butler bowed and quickly retreated.

Qin Youxuan watched the butler who defended Hanjie, speechless and frustrated.
She grabbed the juice from the coffee table and gulped it down.
She slamd the cup back down and turned to head upstairs.
