Jin Chenye’s gaze deepened, sharpened with intensity.
"I don’t know. From what I rember, I’ve seen him many tis, yet each ti there was an indescribable feeling. Only later did I learn that during the years when my dad disappeared, it was Mo Feng who replaced my dad to return to the country and pay respects to my mom. He seed like my dad’s shadow. My dad also told before that the person he trusted the most wasn’t soone else; it was Mo Feng."
"..."
A gleam of light flashed across the bottom of Jin Chenye’s eyes. His lips quivered, as if he had sothing to say but decided against it.
Finally, he gazed steadily at Qin Youxuan.
"Where do you want to go? Fasten your seatbelt, I’ll take you there."
"No need, I can take a cab myself..." Before Qin Youxuan could finish, Jin Chenye had already started the car and hit the road.
Qin Youxuan’s protests were futile. Jumping out of the car wasn’t an option, so she obediently buckled up.
"You really act like an overbearing brother when you get pushy. If you actually had a sister, you would definitely be a sister-complex." Qin Youxuan muttered softly.
Facing Jin Chenye’s amused gaze, she puffed up in annoyance and turned away to look out the window.
...
In the villa bedroom.
Dan Hanjie’s elegant figure stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, holding his son in one arm and a bottle of milk in the other.
His bewitching face was mostly expressionless.
He lifted his hand, gave the bottle a shake, and saw the little one in his embrace excitedly reaching out to grab it.
"Hungry?"
"Ah bu... Ah bu..."
The little one, blowing milk bubbles, beca even more excited trying to grab the bottle.
Teasing without giving anything to eat, you can’t play with a child like that.
"Give daddy a smile, then I’ll consider," Dan Hanjie said with a glint in his eye, focused on the little one.
No sooner had he spoken than the previously excited child turned away dismissively, not even giving Dan Hanjie a glance.
A look full of haughty disdain.
As if expressing contempt.
Dan Hanjie’s seductive eyes flashed, bringing the bottle to the child’s mouth. The little one clamped down on it, sucking vigorously a couple tis.
Just as he was about to continue, Dan Hanjie moved the bottle away.
"How about now? Will you give a smile?"
"Wa wa—"
His food taken away, how could he possibly smile? His little mouth puckered as he began to cry heart-wrenchingly.
He looked as if he had been mistreated by Dan Hanjie.
"Mr. Jie, let feed him, shall I?"
The butler ca in, pushing open the door from the outside, hearing Tingye’s cries, thinking perhaps Dan Hanjie didn’t know how to feed milk.
Dan Hanjie glanced up at the butler, "Get out."
"Yes."
The butler silently withdrew.
Dan Hanjie looked again at the little one in his arms, noting that in just the brief ti of those two sentences, he had already drained half the bottle of milk.
When Dan Hanjie moved the bottle away this ti, he did not even grunt.
The second battle between father and son ended in Dan Hanjie’s defeat.
Babies are for sleeping once they are full, and Tingye was no exception.
Apart from occasionally acting a bit too grown-up for his age, most of the ti he was well-behaved.
After eating, he turned his head, rubbed his little mouth against Dan Hanjie’s expensive shirt, then contentedly fell asleep.
Dan Hanjie didn’t rush to put him in the crib, instead holding him and walking straight downstairs, into the yard.
The empty villa, his son was his only company.
"Mr. Jie."
Yao walked hastily from outside the villa.
"I found out."
Yao approached Dan Hanjie, an excited look on his face, "I’ve checked Dan Yi’s entire schedule for the day of the wedding, and after the wedding was unexpectedly canceled, he went to a place."
"Where?" Dan Hanjie arched an eyebrow.
