Hanjie Dan strode forward, ca up to Qin Youxuan, and lifted his hands to cradle her palm-sized, pretty face.

Qin Youxuan’s body trembled, a wordless palpitation penetrating her limbs and bones.
Her cat-like eyes blinked several tis as her petite body seed nailed in place, unable to move.
In her mind, his words replayed over and over.

Qin Youxuan’s eyes reddened, and flashes of their argunt at the farm crossed her vision.
He just walked away so nonchalantly, utterly unaware of how much she regretted those hurtful words.
Every ti she imagined him with another woman, her heart felt slashed with a knife.
Words once spoken, like water spilled, can never be taken back.
Qin Youxuan had never anticipated that he would return these words to her in such a manner.
Her heart, faintly stirred.
Unspeakable discomfort.
Raising her hand, wanting to embrace him.
Wanting to tell him, Hanjie Dan, from now on you still have ; I am your family, I will give you a ho.
But as the words reached her lips, the scene of Ye Zhanxing’s death flashed before her, and Qin Youxuan’s hand paused mid-air.
Unable to lift it any higher.
Her love, had buried her biological father; could they really continue to be together as if nothing had happened?
She couldn’t bring herself to hate Hanjie Dan, yet she found her love for him hard to rekindle, too.
Qin Youxuan silently collapsed inwardly, a trace of gloom streaking across her eyes.
She subtly stepped back, escaping his hold, turned around with red eyes, not daring to look at his disappointed gaze.
Even when Hanjie Dan left, she just stood there.
The usually decisive Qin Youxuan, for the first ti, was torn, clenching her fist then relaxing it, and then clenching it tight again.
Upon hearing the door open, she nearly lost control and rushed up to wrap her arms tightly around his waist, to tell him he still had her, that their family of three would always be together.
But in the end, she just stood there like a statue, dumbfounded, watching as his figure walked away into the distance.
Desolate and defeated.
"Youxuan, what happened? Hanjie Dan had a terrible expression when he left; he didn’t mistreat you, did he?" Su Yiru hurried into the room with Tingye in her arms, anxiously scrutinizing Qin Youxuan to make sure she was alright.
Only then did she breathe a sigh of relief.

Qin Youxuan opened her mouth, wanting to ask Su Yiru whether forgiving Hanjie Dan would be unfilial.
Before she could speak, Su Yiru preempted her, "The police have no evidence to prove whether your father died from a gunshot or an explosion; they won’t prosecute Hanjie Dan. Even if you want to reconcile with him, no one would bla you. But you know better than anyone the cause of your father’s death; the real question is whether you can get past that yourself."

"Youxuan, Hanjie Dan killed Zhanxing with his own hands. Lying beside your father’s killer when you wake from nightmares in the middle of the night, would you really be any happier?"
Su Yiru shook her head, "The way things are, separating might be hard, but continuing to tornt each other, I fear, won’t make things any better."

Qin Youxuan’s eyes drooped, a mist of tears the only thing remaining.
With one sentence, Su Yiru had expressed all the turmoil and distress she felt.
A single act of forgiveness would be effortless, but what after forgiving? Could they really pretend as if nothing had happened and live happily?
On the anniversary of Ye Zhanxing’s death, how would Qin Youxuan return to the Ye Family; and how could Hanjie Dan manage to stay composed as she mourned her father?
