Chapter 2035: Chapter 2035: Don’t Want to Get Beaten Up for No Reason
“Mingi!”
A deep voice suddenly interjected, interrupting the words Yu Xiuzhun was about to say.
Before Ye Mingi could react, she saw a tall figure step in front of her, reaching out to pull her away from Yu Xiuzhun and protect her behind him.
“Senior…”
Ye Mingi looked at Jin Chenye’s back, dazed, still unable to snap out of Yu Xiuzhun’s earnest tone from earlier.
Poking her little head out from behind Jin Chenye, she saw Yu Xiuzhun’s face darken completely, his sinister eyes staring daggers at Jin Chenye standing before him.
The two outstanding n glared at each other without uttering a word for several minutes.
Ye Mingi’s foot injury had just been treated, and she couldn’t stand for long.
Scared by the hostility emanating from both n, she didn’t dare make a sound. Her small body, struggling to stay upright, unintentionally leaned against Jin Chenye.
Jin Chenye’s back stiffened, yet his hand naturally wrapped around her shoulder, looking down at her with concern, “What’s wrong?”
Why can’t you even stand properly?
Is seeing Yu Xiuzhun scaring you?
“Senior, I’m fine, it’s just…”
“Get your filthy hands off her!”
Mingi’s words were abruptly cut off by Yu Xiuzhun’s harsh voice.
Turning her head, Mingi saw that Yu Xiuzhun’s handso face had turned icy cold, his narrow eyes gleaming with a terrifying light.
His gaze fixated on Jin Chenye’s arm around Mingi, as if wishing he could rush over and break it.
That look made Mingi involuntarily shrink her neck, forgetting to even explain.
“This is the Ye Family’s place. Mr. Yu, are you planning to make a move on here?” Jin Chenye didn’t release his hold, instead protecting Ye Mingi behind him with a firm stance.
He wasn’t unfamiliar with fighting Yu Xiuzhun; if they truly ca to blows, neither would gain the upper hand.
Yu Xiuzhun possessed a ruthlessness born from crawling out of heaps of corpses, which would genuinely terrify an ordinary person.
But Jin Chenye was different; he just habitually masked his indifference with gentleness, and the intrinsic aura he exuded commanded respect.
“Fight, then fight; don’t think I can’t handle you.” Yu Xiuzhun rolled up his sleeves, unbuttoned two buttons at his collar, and stepped toward Jin Chenye.
“Wait a minute, my foot can’t stand anymore. If you’re going to fight, can you help to a seat first? I don’t want to get hit for no reason…” Mingi timidly raised her hand, cautiously speaking up.
Her frightened little face looked left and right, afraid of provoking either of the angered n.
Though she didn’t know why they started fighting as soon as they saw each other, this seed like a personal feud, probably unrelated to her.
“What happened to your foot?”
Jin Chenye glanced down at her foot, seeing her standing on her toes, his expression changed, kneeling down to pick Ye Mingi up.
Without another glance at Yu Xiuzhun, he carried her over to the nearby plaza.
He set Ye Mingi on a bench in the plaza, crouching down to inspect her foot.
“It’s nothing; I was impulsive earlier and chased a car for a bit, so it’s a little sore. It’s been treated… Yu… Yu Xiuzhun took care of it…”
The more Mingi spoke, the softer her voice beca, her eyes eting Yu Xiuzhun’s deep gaze.
His cold stare faltered slightly hearing Mingi’s words, a hint of provocation in the look he cast at Jin Chenye.
