Chapter 22: She Must Be Hallucinating

It was an unknown number.

How could she be receiving a call from an unknown number?
She hesitated before finally pressing the answer button.

With a click, the call ended.
Qin Youxuan didn’t get to utter a single word. She couldn’t help but blurt out an expletive, “Freak!”
She threw the phone on the table, stood up from the couch, grabbed her robe, and went into the bathroom. She took a cold shower, then picked up a towel to dry her hair before leaving.
Just as she crawled into bed and reached for the blanket, she caught sight of the phone lying on the table out of the corner of her eye.
Sothing suddenly flashed through her mind. She abruptly sat up, rushed over to the table, picked up her phone, and dialed back the previous number.
The call connected.
It wasn’t a scam call.
Qin Youxuan’s heart skipped a beat.
After waiting for what seed like forever, no one picked up the call.
Qin Youxuan exhaled a breath she had been holding in, reassuring herself that she must have gotten it wrong.
Just as she was about to end the call, soone picked up on the other end.
“Miss Qin, Mr. Jie is in a eting and cannot answer the call. Is there anything you would like to pass on to him? I am Mr. Jie’s special assistant, you can call Yao.” The voice from the other end of the call was crisp and clear.
‘ Qin Youxuan was completely stunned, staring in disbelief at her phone screen, thinking she was hallucinating.
After what seed like an eternity, she finally found her voice, “How does Dan Hanjie have my number?!”
