Duke’s expression suddenly froze, and he quickly lifted his eyes to look at Rui Hui.
It seed very unexpected.
Ever since he knew Rui Hui was pregnant, he had countless tis wanted to personally end the child’s life.
Now hearing that this child couldn’t have been kept in the first place, he burst out laughing suddenly.
"Diwu Zexuan, you finally get what you deserve, it’s all your retribution! People like you are destined to have no family!" Duke laughed maniacally, wildly and arrogantly.
He completely disregarded the fact that this child was also Rui Hui’s.
His every word pierced deeply into Rui Hui’s heart, stirring a great pain.

Rui Hui endured her aversion and allowed Duke to hold her, not pushing him away imdiately.
A flash of murderous intent passed through her eyes.
She had never hated anyone so much, but Duke’s constant desire to take her baby’s life was like continuously plucking at the sensitive string in her mind.
"What’s that sound outside? Did you hear it?" Rui Hui paused and turned her head to the side.
Taking advantage of Duke’s distraction, she stepped back, moving out of his embrace.
"Is there?" Duke raised an eyebrow, looking puzzled towards the door.
"I don’t know if I misheard, it seems like soone’s outside." Rui Hui lied with wide-open eyes.
All she wanted now was for Duke to leave as quickly as possible; once he left, she and the baby would be temporarily safe.
"I’ll go check. You can stay here for two days and rest assured. Once you figure out how to handle the child in your belly, I assure you no harm will co to you, and I can take you away from here."
Duke affectionately reached for Rui Hui’s face, but this ti Rui Hui couldn’t suppress her disgust and turned her head away before he could touch her.
Duke’s hand paused mid-air, awkwardly retracting.
He gave her a deep look, thinking she still needed ti to adjust, said nothing more, and turned to leave the secret room.
As soon as his figure disappeared, Rui Hui collapsed onto the ground.
She gasped for breath, her back soaked with cold sweat.
Opening her hand, her palm was already bloody. A little more, and Duke would have discovered that every word she said was just a stalling tactic.
"Diwu Zexuan, you idiot, going to Sweden alone, such a fool!"
Rui Hui cursed twice, caught her breath, then got up, following the direction Duke had left, and walked to the door, gently reaching out and knocking.
There was sound, and outside the door was empty.
It should be a secret passage, only she didn’t know where it led.
If it’s really as Duke said, then she can’t count on Diwu Zexuan saving her anymore; she must quickly find a way to leave here on her own.
Rui Hui bit her lip, just about to move a chair over to smash the door, when it sounded like footsteps were slowly approaching.
