Spotting a familiar figure coming into view, she montarily froze. Before she could react, the flea-bitten Da Bai had already rushed toward Dan Hanjie, who just got out of the car.
Happily running circles around his feet.

Dan Hanjie’s eyes flickered and he turned to look at Yao, who was standing far away.
Having heard Qin Youxuan’s words, Yao slightly nodded and turned to leave, assuming responsibility for the matter.
“Let’s go get so food.”
“I’m not hungry.”
“Are you trying to give the cold shoulder again?” There was a shadow of gloom in Dan Hanjie’s eyes.

Qin Youxuan fell silent.
She stood up from the grass, allowing him to lead her into the dining room.
Throughout the al, he kept serving her food, and she kept eating.
A few tis, Qin Youxuan felt nauseous but managed to suppress it by pinching her thigh.
She could only eat so much before putting down her utensils, claiming to be full.
Looking at her clearly unwell complexion, Dan Hanjie did not push her. He wiped his mouth with a napkin and then carried her back to the room.
“Take a nap first. This afternoon, I will have the doctor co to check on you.”
Dan Hanjie stroked her smooth forehead, gently speaking with concern.
His hand was suddenly seized by hers. “I’m fine.”
“You look pale.”
“Yes, because of you. A doctor can’t treat that.” Qin Youxuan spoke honestly, looking at the montary shock on Dan Hanjie’s face. A hint of reluctance flashed through her heart. She reached out and embraced his waist.
She buried her face in his chest. “Dan Hanjie, give so ti. I’m having a hard ti getting past this.”
After all, Dan Hanjie had done so much without hurting her.
She was not ungrateful.
But who could accept that the person they had trusted wholeheartedly, was manipulating them all the while?
Every step she took was under his control. It was terrifying.

Dan Hanjie remained silent, the grip around her tightening.
He laid her down, and settled himself beside her, allowing her to use his arm as a pillow to fall asleep.
“Mom…”
Qin Youxuan was sleep talking.
Her small face was breaking out in a cold sweat and she clutched Dan Hanjie’s shirt tightly.
“Is it really that hard to forgive?” Dan Hanjie’s long fingers caressed her face, his eyes filled with unresolved gloom. He interpreted her sleep-talking as a deep resentnt towards his betrayal.
He had never regretted any of his actions, but now, for the first ti, he felt powerless.
Her self-punishnt was even more painful for him than her cold treatnt.
