"I can’t show you around this experint building, let’s go sowhere else." Yin Yang said to Xu Mumu as he walked out of the experint building. There are so important experints inside, and outsiders are not allowed to visit casually.
"No problem, I understand. I need to visit the transportation team in the county to find my brother and bring him sothing." Xu Mumu looked at Yin Yang with so hesitation.
"I don’t have anywhere else to go either, so naturally I’ll go with you. What, are you trying to abandon ?" Yin Yang acted incredulously.
"You’re just saying that. Co on, let’s go together." Xu Mumu said helplessly.
The experint base isn’t far from the county governnt, only a bit over twenty minutes, and the two of them arrived quickly.
Upon arriving at the transportation team, Xu Mumu asked soone to find Xu Minghui.
It was also Xu Mumu’s first ti at the transportation team. No wonder it’s the county’s; there really are a lot of trucks here. Even within the county, it’s rare to see so many vehicles on the road, yet there are plenty here.
"Sis, I thought soone was tricking ; I didn’t expect you to really co see ." Xu Minghui said excitedly. His work clothes were a bit dirty from moving things earlier. If he were clean, he would’ve hugged his sister tightly to express how much he missed her.
"I brought you sothing, so of Grandma’s old pickles." Xu Mumu took out a jar.
"I thought it was at." Xu Minghui promptly put away the jar. The food at the transportation team is still decent, but he has a big appetite and doesn’t often feel full.
"Dreaming are you, thinking of at? Do you want to take a leave so we can go eat at at the state-run restaurant?" Noticing her brother had lost so weight, Xu Mumu felt a slight pang of heartache.
"No way, I still have work to do. Our team leader is watching over there; I can only take a ten-minute break." Xu Minghui steeled himself.
"When I’m on leave, you should treat to at at the state-run restaurant." Xu Minghui quickly said, though it felt a bit shaful to have his sister treat him to at. Whenever he gets paid, he hands over most of his salary, and all the at coupons go to their mother.
"Okay." Xu Mumu nodded. This week, Xu Minghui was working overti, but next week he could rest an extra day, and she would have ti to take him to eat at then.
"How’s everything at ho?" Xu Minghui asked about ho, worried about their mother being pregnant.
"Everything’s fine, brother. You don’t need to worry about ho, just focus on doing your job well."
"Hey, Yin Zhiqing, you’re here too?" Xu Minghui finally noticed Yin Yang.
Yin Yang: "..." It was the first ti he’d been ignored before, and it was quite a novel feeling.
"Yin Zhiqing brought to the experint base." Xu Mumu explained a bit about how Yin Yang helped her find work to Xu Minghui.
"Yin Zhiqing, thank you for helping my sister. If you need anything in the future, just ask, and I’ll do what I can." Xu Minghui patted Yin Yang on the shoulder, looking all chivalrous.
This made Xu Minghui feel a bit bad; it was because he wasn’t accomplished enough yet. If he were, his sister wouldn’t need to ask others for help.
That’s right, in Xu Minghui’s eyes, Xu Mumu’s job was sothing she begged from Yin Yang.
Soone was already calling for Xu Minghui; before leaving, Xu Minghui patted Yin Yang’s arm and then strode determinedly towards his work.
Although she didn’t know what her brother was thinking, how he suddenly beca so motivated, it seed to be a good thing. Xu Mumu wasn’t inclined to dwell on it.
"There’s still ti, do you want to go stroll around?" Yin Yang looked at Xu Mumu.
"Let’s go." Xu Mumu nodded. Luo Yanrui asked them to co by at two in the afternoon; it was only a bit after nine in the morning, so there was plenty of ti.
Walking on the county’s streets, besides the state-run places, there were no vendors. The enforcent team was even catching those engaging in unsanctioned trades.
"There’s a movie screening there, want to go check it out?" Yin Yang’s gaze fell on Xu Mumu, eyes filled with anticipation and a little bit of nervousness, unnoticed even by himself.
"A movie, huh? I have a classmate selling tickets there. Let’s go take a look." Xu Mumu didn’t notice Yin Yang’s expression. She thought of Xue Yan and felt a bit wistful.
Walking into the theater, this cinema was really run-down, yet there were still many people there watching movies. As Xu Mumu entered, Xue Yan noticed her imdiately.
"Mumu, over here." Xue Yan excitedly waved at Xu Mumu while handing tickets to buyers.
"Xue Yan." Xu Mumu smiled and nodded at Xue Yan. The current Xue Yan had changed a lot from when she last saw her. Now, Xue Yan wore mature makeup and more fashionable clothes.
Indeed, society is a lting pot that greatly changes people. Xue Yan hadn’t been working for very long, yet the changes were significant.
"Oh, Mumu, is this your boyfriend or what? Not going to introduce him to ?" Xue Yan’s eyes lit up when she saw Yin Yang. It was the first ti she’d seen such an outstandingly handso man. Xue Yan gave Xu Mumu a teasing look.
"I’m Yin Yang, Mumu’s friend. Hello." Yin Yang said with a warm smile. Hearing Xue Yan ntion he was Xu Mumu’s boyfriend, he felt his heart race.
"A friend, huh? Alright then, Comrade Yin Yang, hello." Xue Yan gave Xu Mumu a disapproving look, as if to say, "Why not hold onto such a good man, sister."
"We’re in the county for so business, so we ca by to support your work. What movies are showing lately?" Xu Mumu helplessly changed the subject.
"The most popular one recently is definitely ’Tunnel Warfare.’ I’ve watched it several tis; it’s really good, highly recomnded. You two go watch it; it’s on ." Xue Yan imdiately started promoting the movie to Xu Mumu.
"This movie, huh, I’ve heard of it, no need for you to pay; I’ve got my own money." Xu Mumu said helplessly, though she had seen this classic in the future and was looking forward to it regardless.
"Let handle it. Two movie tickets for Mumu and ." Yin Yang took out ten cents; movie tickets usually cost five cents each.
"Alright, alright, no problem, take these. I picked two seats towards the front for you." Xue Yan didn’t give Xu Mumu a chance to speak, quickly taking Yin Yang’s money and handing over the tickets, giving Xu Mumu a little wink.
Unfortunately, Xu Mumu didn’t catch the hint. Looking at the movie tickets in her hand and then at Yin Yang, she thought, well, since he bought the tickets, she’d pay for any other expenses he might have later.
"Here, Mumu, take these to eat during the movie. I saved them just for you two." Xue Yan put two handfuls of sunflower seeds in Xu Mumu’s hand.
