Xu Mumu’s birthday was on Saturday, which happened to be during the holidays.
Being a year older, now seventeen, Xu Mumu was in a great mood. The gifts from those kids, other than the food left outside, the pen was placed in Xu Mumu’s school bag, and the hair tie was put in the bamboo basket hanging by the mirror.
At noon, Madam Chen cut a big piece of at and cooked several at dishes to celebrate Xu Mumu’s birthday. The family from the second and fourth houses also ca over.
This birthday made Xu Mumu very happy, especially when Xu Minghui unexpectedly returned early in the evening.
When he ca back, he brought a gift for Xu Mumu, and looking at the pair of small leather shoes in front of her, Xu Mumu was deeply moved.
"Brother, these leather shoes aren’t cheap, right?" Xu Mumu looked at Xu Minghui.
"Of course, they aren’t cheap, but don’t worry, your brother has money. In a few days, I’ll be officially employed." Xu Minghui displayed a sense of grandeur, his eyes full of affection for his sister. Whatever the girls in the city have, his sister should have too.

Yin Yang? What’s he doing here looking for now? Although sowhat puzzled, Xu Mumu still went out.
"Yin Zhiqing." Xu Mumu looked at Yin Yang with a smile, her eyes carrying a hint of doubt.
"I heard today is your birthday, so here’s a gift for you." Yin Yang took out a small box, smiling at Xu Mumu.

"Glad you like it." Yin Yang breathed a sigh of relief. It was the first ti he gave a gift to a girl, and he didn’t know how much hair he had pulled out deciding what to give.
"When’s your birthday? If possible, I’d like to give you a gift too." After hesitating a bit, Xu Mumu finally asked.
"It’s in early March next year." Yin Yang’s eyes lit up and he directly told Xu Mumu his birthday.
"Okay, I’ve noted it down." Xu Mumu said seriously.
After sending Yin Yang off, Xu Mumu still felt a bit complicated inside; she hadn’t expected Yin Yang to give her a gift, catching her a bit off guard.
"Tsk, sister, how co you and Yin Yang are on such good terms?" Xu Minghui leaned against the doorway of Xu Mumu’s room, looking at her with a faint smile, holding that light blue small box in her hands.
He could guarantee that the boy definitely had intentions for his sister. He’d go talk to him tomorrow. After all, not just anyone could think of his sister like that.
"It’s just normal, he saw Jiaojiao going to buy a hair tie for , so he asked Jiaojiao, then found out. I didn’t expect him to give a gift either." Xu Mumu said helplessly.

Xu Minghui had no idea his most beloved sister had an eye on his little stash, but even if he knew, what could he do? Of course, he would spoil her.
She carefully took the brooch to her room and stored it away. Such a beautiful brooch, she’d be distressed if it got dirty or damaged.
This incident didn’t cause much of a stir in the Old Xu Family. With Xu Minghui ho, the family prepared quite a few good dishes, and Xu Hai even brought so white wine back.
The dinner table was lively, and Xu Mumu was in an incredibly good mood.
anwhile, Yin Yang was equally as pleased, now that the gift he had prepared was given and seed to be very liked by Xu Mumu.
In the evening, after preparing the food, Yin Yang found an excuse to head out. As the weather was getting increasingly colder, he wanted to check if anything more was needed at his grandfather’s place.
Arriving at the cowshed anew, it had been repaired and improved from just being mud walls; it was now at least sowhat better, offering shelter from the wind, sun, and rain, not leaking anymore.
When Yin Yang arrived, Professor Song and several other professors were busy making supper and talking at the sa ti, looking leisurely, as their days had improved quite a bit.
"Here cos Xiaoyang, co in quickly," an elderly man with gray hair was the first to spot Yin Yang and gently beckoned him in.
Since Yin Yang ca here as a young intellectual, he had helped them a lot, albeit they were benefiting partly from Professor Song’s connections.
Yin Yang was humble and polite, showing respect for these professors, naturally earning their fondness.
"Grandpa Shen, Grandpa Jian, Grandpa An, and Grandpa." Yin Yang greeted them with smiles, calling them all respectfully.
"Why co over again? Didn’t I tell you to co less often?" Professor Song said helplessly.
