The son was causing quite a commotion, and Lin Juan looked at Xu He. Here in their hotown, she hadn’t received the welco she expected, and she had even been driven away by her mother-in-law. Naturally, she was unwilling to stay here any longer, as this was not her and her son’s ho.

"Why are you looking at ? I’ve already said the family is poor and there’s no extra food to entertain you." Madam Chen said impatiently as she noticed Xu He looking at her. The clothes were already hung out to dry, and the kid’s clothes weren’t many, so they were done quickly.

"We’ll co back to visit mom in a while." Xu He took a deep breath, feeling a bit stifled inside.

Seeing Xu He and the rest leave, Madam Chen smirked coldly without saying a word. She knew exactly what the third one was like.

By the ti Xu Mumu returned in the evening, she had heard about this incident. Just walking down the road, she overheard people in the team talking about it. Quite a few people were envious. The Old Xu Family now had two mbers working in the city.

Learning the whole story from her own mother, Xu Mumu felt nothing internally.

She didn’t bother with the matter; graduation was just days away, and she had many things to consider.

Xu Mumu shared her decision with the family, ntioning that she planned to try reaching out to Qin Jie since it would be another two or three months before any news ca out.

"Mumu, really? You can get into the shoe factory too?" Li Caixia was extrely excited.

"I’m just going to give it a try to see if it suits . Nothing is settled yet, so don’t go ntioning it to others." Xu Mumu looked at Li Caixia seriously.

"Don’t worry, we understand. Once you’ve confird, we’ll talk. When the ti cos, we’ll visit your grandpa’s house. He has quite a stash hidden away." Li Caixia gave Xu Mumu a reassuring look.

"Mom, there’s really no need for us to focus on grandpa’s things." Xu Mumu was quite helpless. Her mom always had an eye on her grandpa’s stuff. Even if what he secretly hid before were valuable things, they weren’t theirs.

Unfortunately, Li Caixia never had this realization. Every ti grandpa was ntioned, she thought about how to get sothing good from him.

Xu Mumu knew why her mom was so sure grandpa had good stuff because her mother’s dowry included a pair of gold earrings—light in weight but intricately designed.

It’s said that grandpa used to accompany the militia to raid a landlord’s house, which is why he secretly stashed so good things away.

"No way, we can’t let your uncles take it all. Besides, your grandpa is biased. At your aunt’s wedding, I secretly watched him give her a gold ring, much heavier than my gold earrings." Li Caixia couldn’t help but be envious.

The gold earrings were carefully kept by her. Only Xu Mumu and Xu Hai knew about them; the others didn’t.

"Mom, I’ll buy you so in the future, okay?" Xu Mumu felt a headache coming on.

Finally, after coaxing her mom, Xu Mumu breathed a sigh of relief. Pleasing her mom was more tiring than pleasing her younger brother.

"Mumu, Yin Zhiqing is looking for you again." As Li Caixia was about to say more, Yin Yang was already standing outside the yard.

"Mom, I’m stepping out for a bit." Though puzzled about what Yin Yang wanted at this ti, she still went out.

"Why did you co looking for ?" Xu Mumu looked at Yin Yang. What had this guy been up to? He seed much thinner.

"Just wanted to see you. So, what plans do you have now that you’re graduating?" Yin Yang looked at Xu Mumu. An incident happened, and he had personally dealt with it, which took quite so ti.

"I have so plans. Du Yu’s mother wants to work as her secretary for a while, and I’m thinking of trying it out." Xu Mumu chuckled. Despite having tidied up before coming to see her, she could still sense the weariness on him.

"You two really have a good relationship; he’s even helped you arrange a job." Yin Yang said with a tinge of jealousy. He had been away from the team for less than half a month, and Xu Mumu had already sorted out her job. Those who thwarted his efforts—once he went to the Imperial City, he’d make sure to get back at them harshly.

"It’s just alright. By the way, where have you been these days? You haven’t been around the team." Xu Mumu asked with a smile.

"Went to the Imperial City for a bit; I had so things to take care of. I brought you a gift." Yin Yang said sowhat sheepishly, then pulled an item from his bag—a scarf, light green with simple, elegant patterns—quite appealing.

"Do you like it?" Seeing Xu Mumu accept the item, his nervousness eased a bit. He looked at her expectantly. He had seen many girls in the Imperial City fancy this scarf. Right then, he thought it would suit Xu Mumu better than anyone else, so he bought one for her, too.

"I like it; it’s lovely. Thank you, Yin Yang." Xu Mumu said with a smile.

"I’m glad you like it. I was worried you wouldn’t. Oh, I brought so specialties back from the Imperial City. I’ll bring a bit over for you to try later." Yin Yang, seeing that Xu Mumu really liked the scarf, was instantly delighted. He had just returned and hadn’t even had ti to sort through the things he brought back. He was so eager to deliver sothing to Xu Mumu that he’d hurriedly washed up, changed into clean clothes, and headed to the Xu Family.

"Alright, you look quite tired, so rest up properly." Xu Mumu nodded with a smile. Even with dark circles, this handso guy still had his unique charm.

"Okay, I’ll go back in a bit." Yin Yang nodded imdiately. Mumu showing concern for him made him extrely happy, leaping with joy inside.

After seeing Yin Yang off, Xu Mumu looked at the scarf in her hand and a smile flashed in her eyes. The scarf was beautiful and suited her well; it felt comfortable to the touch, and Yin Yang had great taste.

Should she give sothing to Yin Yang? The gift she gave him for his birthday last ti seed too casual. Thinking back, she felt a bit embarrassed.

The last ti she gifted sothing special, it was just a wild chicken she hunted in the mountains, which she handed to Yin Yang.

Though Yin Yang seed very happy then, in retrospect, Xu Mumu felt increasingly embarrassed.

If she were to gift sothing now, she had no idea what would be suitable, as Yin Yang seed to be lacking nothing.

"Did Yin Zhiqing give that to you?" Li Caixia’s eyes lit up at the sight of the scarf in Xu Mumu’s hands. Xu Minghui had once bought her a scarf, but Xu Mumu’s was much prettier and clearly no cheap item.

"Yes, mom, how does it look?" Xu Mumu wrapped the scarf around her neck for Li Caixia to see.

"It looks great, my girl is the prettiest, and that scarf is lovely too." Li Caixia said with a beaming smile.

"Then I’ll go put it away." Xu Mumu said with a chuckle.

"Mom, what do you think I should give to Yin Yang? He’s given quite a few things." After putting the scarf away, Xu Mumu stepped out to ask her mom for advice.
