Upon reading the letter, Xu Mumu’s eyes widened. Her mother was indeed quite capable. With her glib tongue, she resolved many conflicts in the neighborhood and successfully hitched onto Director Wu’s bandwagon. Now she’s working with Director Wu and it’s no longer voluntary labor.
That’s not the main point though. The highlight is that she proudly showed off her learning achievents to her daughter. She had already studied half of the elentary school curriculum and now she could even teach Xu Mumu’s dad, Comrade Xu Hai, to study.
Moreover, under the supervision of Comrade Li Caixia, Comrade Xu Hai made breakthrough-progress in his studies.
Though it was just one page, a large portion was self-praise. Xu Mumu for the first ti realized how narcissistic her mother actually was.

He had to go to work and earn money during the day and at night, he had to study with his wife. "They really are lively. A pair of living treasures. It seems like my dad is kind of enjoying it as well. Let’s just leave it be. Learning more is a good thing," Xu Mumu replied with a grin.
"It seems like your aunt really enjoys learning," Yin Yang said with a gentle smile.
"She really does enjoy it," Xu Mumu replied with a smile.
After reading her parents’ letters, Xu Mumu picked up Xu Minglei’s letter. He was adapting well to his junior high school in the provincial city, and she heard that exams were coming up soon.
Everything was going well at ho. Although their elder brother Xu Minghui was in college, he returned ho every day to supervise their parents’ studies. Everything at ho was fine, and he told her not to worry.
The younger brother could already call Grandma. The little guy was mostly taken care of by Madam Chen when Li Caixia and Xu Hai went out to work, so he first learned to call her Grandma and called no one else besides Grandma.
Xu Mumu stroked her chin. It had been a long ti since she last went ho. Although they kept in touch through letters, she still felt a bit hosick.

On Monday, when she went to school, Xu Mumu noticed that Su Yue’e, who was sitting beside her, seed to be in a bad mood.
"What’s wrong?" Xu Mumu asked, seeing the sorrow around Su Yue’e almost affecting her.
"It’s nothing," Su Yue’e shook her head, but her voice was a little choked. Moreover, Xu Mumu noticed Su Yue’e’s eyes were a bit red as if she had been crying.
"Did sothing happen? Do you need my help?" Xu Mumu asked with her lips slightly pursed.
"I’m fine, it’s just that I’ve broken ties with Shen Ya and the others," Su Yue’e whispered. Not only did she fall out with them, but her tutoring plans also fell through. Fortunately, the tutoring fees she received earlier were still with her.

"Mumu, do you know of any part-ti jobs?" Su Yue’e asked cautiously, eyeing Xu Mumu. She actually wanted to work part-ti near the lab building, doing anything she could, enabling her to get closer to those experints.
She approached Xu Mumu with her own agenda, considering that Professor Song was Yin Yang’s grandfather and was very fond of Xu Mumu as well.
Her grades weren’t the best in the class, and many students excelled more than she did. So guys were born with a knack for this field, so opportunities rarely ca her way. She had to find a way herself.
"Part-ti job? I don’t work part-ti, so I don’t really know much about them. Are you short on cash?" Xu Mumu raised her eyebrow, finding it amusing. Did people really think of her as wealthy or well-connected? Her network consisted of a few professors, which were indeed valuable connections.
"Oh, I see," Su Yue’e pursed her lips.
"I used to earn money by writing articles for newspapers or submitting essays. The paynt for each submission was decent," Xu Mumu spoke calmly, giving Su Yue’e a hint. She didn’t ntion earning money from selling notes, as she didn’t plan to let others know about it while Huo Qingze was likely to bring it up again.
