"Make a bit more, we’ll stir-fry so at in the evening." Xu Mumu nodded.
In the kitchen, Mrs. Liu was already boiling water, and in the main room here there was a fan placed. Without needing Yin Yang to say anything, Zhou Yunhong brought over an electric fan.
"It’s so comfortable at ho, having a fan to cool down. The train was unbearably hot." Xu Mumu enjoyed the breeze, eating the sliced cold waterlon brought over by Mrs. Liu, feeling truly relaxed.
"Eat less cold stuff to avoid stomach discomfort." Seeing Xu Mumu already eating one slice and picking up another slice of waterlon, Yin Yang reminded her. Although Xu Mumu was usually in good health, eating too much cold food wasn’t good for girls’ bodies, so it’s better to eat less.
"Yin Yang is right, you’re a girl, you shouldn’t eat so much cold stuff. His mother was the sa; I spoiled her during sumr, letting her eat lots of cold things, and later on, her health wasn’t that great." Professor Song imdiately backed Yin Yang’s advice.
"Got it, I’ll finish this slice and stop." Xu Mumu happily nodded. She knew they were concerned about her and only planned to eat two slices.
After enjoying the breeze for a while, Xu Mumu felt much more comfortable. Mrs. Liu’s voice sounded in the yard; the hot water was ready.
Xu Mumu quickly returned to her room to grab her clothes. The room was tidily arranged by Mrs. Liu, and Xu Mumu took her clothes to go shower.
While showering, Xu Mumu especially longed for the modern showers of the future, and very much wanted a big bathtub, but it wasn’t practical at the mont.
After showering, she was sent off to rest by Professor Song. Her room was shaded by a large tree in the yard, so it wasn’t hot inside.
The beddings in the room were all replaced with new ones, freshly washed, still carrying a faint scent of soap powder. A bouquet of roses adorned the room, bringing it to life.
Slling the faint fragrance of roses, Xu Mumu soon felt drowsy. The yard gradually quieted down, leaving only Yin Yang and Zhou Yunhong talking.
When Xu Mumu woke up again, Yin Yang was the one who woke her. She looked at her watch - it was already half-past six. It was quite late, and Xu Mumu felt a bit embarrassed.
The evening heat in the yard hadn’t subsided at all; it was still very warm.
In the main room, Professor Jian was wearing glasses, seriously reading a docunt, his expression not too good.
"Sir Jian." Xu Mumu walked over. She had heard from Professor Song earlier that Professor Jian’s experint encountered so issues, and she wanted to see if she could help solve the problem.
"Mumu, you’re up, co on over and sit." Professor Jian spoke gently, putting away his expressions, leaving only warmth and kindness.
"Sir Jian, I missed you all so much." Xu Mumu bead, sitting beside Professor Jian, refilling his teacup.
"You miss us yet don’t call us more. Every ti you call, I’m not around." Professor Jian lanted.
"It’s our fault, Sir Jian. I even bought clothes for you. You and Sir Song must try them on later." Xu Mumu said with a smile. Yin Yang was already planning to install a phone in the yard, making it more convenient to call anyti.
"Hmph, who knows if they look good." Sir Jian said with a haughty tone.
"They’ll definitely look good; you and Sir Song are the most dashing old n." Xu Mumu said with a smile.
"Did you pick up such slick talk from Yin Yang?" Sir Jian glared at Xu Mumu, hiding his smirk behind the teacup.
"Not at all, I’m speaking from the heart." Xu Mumu looked at Sir Jian, smiling.
"You little flatterer, is everything alright at ho?" Sir Jian chuckled and asked. Without any descendants, he genuinely considered Yin Yang and Xu Mumu as his own grandchildren.
"Everything’s fine. By the way, Sir Jian, why are you still looking at those docunts? Sir Song ntioned your experint had an issue. What’s the problem?" Xu Mumu asked curiously, eager to help.
"It’s nothing major. So experintal data was leaked, but this set had issues, and the results weren’t successful. I plan to redo it. Are you interested? The experint’s process is right here; take a look." Professor Jian handed the docunts to Xu Mumu.
Looking at the experintal topic and process, Xu Mumu read carefully, while Yin Yang questioned about the data leak: "Sir Jian, have you found the person who leaked the data?" Yin Yang seriously looked at Professor Jian.
This experint was Professor Jian’s long-term effort, intended for patent application. Leaking the data caused terribly adverse effects.
"The police have been notified, they’re investigating." Professor Jian pursed his lips, his smile dissipating significantly.
"Would you like to have soone help with the investigation?" Yin Yang offered earnestly.
"Of course, give it a hand. Old Jian, you really shouldn’t keep such serious matters to yourself." Professor Song walked in from the doorway.
"Yes, Grandpa. I’ll speak with them tomorrow. Anyone who bullies Sir Jian, I won’t let them off." Yin Yang nodded. Those responsible for such actions were likely either jealous of Professor Jian or intent on stealing his experintal results.
Yin Yang and Xu Mumu were furious about such matters, knowing those capable of it weren’t of sound character.
Xu Mumu believed it was because Professor Jian was too kind that people thought they could take advantage of him.
In the evening, Mrs. Liu prepared a large table of delicious food. Xu Mumu was extrely satisfied; Mrs. Liu’s cooking was superb.
Returning to her room at night, Xu Mumu continued reviewing Professor Jian’s experintal project. Catching the one who leaked the data needed Yin Yang’s involvent; she couldn’t help with that part, except perhaps to give them a good beating when caught.
As she observed the experintal process, Xu Mumu felt impressed. Professor Jian’s experintal approach was brilliant. Having seen similar experints in the future, she quickly identified a small error in Professor Jian’s process. Correcting it would yield perfectly usable results.
Having gone through it all, Xu Mumu massaged her temples, feeling slightly overwheld from reading so much. Feeling tired, she placed the experint docunts on the small table and went to sleep.
In contrast, Professor Jian found it hard to sleep. He had suspects in mind already. Frankly, being betrayed didn’t feel good. Previously, he’d been reported and sent to rural reform, and now he was betrayed again.
