"No need, we already have enough people." Jiang Zhenghao refused. At least in his impression, Shen Ya wasn’t soone very proactive. Every ti, she would drag out submitting assignnts to the last minute. Whenever there were class activities, she wouldn’t actively participate. How could soone like that work efficiently and seriously?
Of course, he called Xu Mumu and the others over not to really make them work, but just to show presence. However, Xu Mumu and the others had a better relationship with him. Xu Mumu’s younger siblings were here to take exams, so he was naturally willing to help out a bit.
Shen Ya felt extrely wronged. When she called Xu Mumu and the others, there weren’t enough people. Now that she had co over, there were enough. Jiang Zhenghao was obviously doing this on purpose.
"It’s class ti; you should go back." Jiang Zhenghao glanced at his watch. Shen Ya was still standing there. Wasn’t this wasting ti and distracting him from his work? Jiang Zhenghao frowned slightly.
Shen Ya stomped her foot and left, planning to co back later.
By the ti Shen Ya returned to the classroom, class had already started. She entered through the back door, and the teacher only glanced at her before looking away, saying nothing. They were in university, already adults. Talking to them further held no aning; they were responsible for their own lives.
When class ended, Xu Mumu had already packed her things, and Su Yue’e had finished too. After class, the two quickly headed toward the grand auditorium.
When they arrived, the area outside the auditorium was already packed. Xu Mumu widened her eyes; so many people had co to watch. It wasn’t just students from their school but quite a few journalists as well. It seed this English speech competition was really drawing attention.
After glancing at the crowded scene outside, the two deftly made their way to the backstage area.
Jiang Zhenghao was already waiting for them there. Once they arrived, he let them in.
Xu Mumu was considered a prominent figure in the school. When she arrived, even the student union mbers handling order recognized her.
After greeting them, Xu Mumu turned her attention to the competition, watching the students step onto the stage to deliver their speeches. She listened intently while searching among them for Xu Minglei and Xu Jiaojiao.
Finally, she spotted them among those waiting. The two looked in good condition, just waiting for their turn. Seeing the student ahead of them, it would be about half an hour before their turn.
Xu Mumu didn’t approach them, intending not to put any pressure on them.
"Mumu, which ones are your siblings over there?" Su Yue’e asked excitedly.
"Those two over there, wearing blue sweaters. The one with twin ponytails is my cousin, Xu Jiaojiao, and the one sitting next to her is my younger brother." Xu Mumu pointed them out to her.
"Wow, your siblings are quite good-looking. Is everyone in your family good-looking?" Su Yue’e said, sowhat surprised.
"Not really." Xu Mumu shook her head with a smile. The three siblings were decent-looking. As for their parents, Xu Hai looked pretty good, while Li Caixia had a chubby, round face. She didn’t know if she was genuinely good-looking when she was younger, but now she looked quite ordinary. Xu Mumu felt they resembled their father more.
Watching the students’ performances on stage, even Xu Mumu found them impressive. Although so were quite nervous, these students definitely had real talent. Without it, they wouldn’t have co this far.
Not only was Xu Mumu impressed, but Su Yue’e was too. She had always considered herself quite capable, but seeing these young kids understand so much at such a young age made her realize the disparity. Although she studied hard, she still felt there was so distance in comparison.
Xu Mumu watched quietly, and no one around interrupted so as not to affect the students’ performances on stage, which would have been a sha.
Jiang Zhenghao continued taking notes quickly. The student union had a lot of work to do, not just maintaining discipline and order but also verifying outsiders to ensure nothing went wrong with the competition.
Before long, Xu Mumu saw Xu Minglei step onto the stage. Today, he had changed into a new outfit, looking very energetic.
Without much preamble, the young guy quickly began his performance.
Xu Mumu listened quietly. This little guy hadn’t been idle after returning and delivered a wonderful speech. At least, Xu Mumu was very satisfied with her brother’s performance.
Xu Minglei didn’t show stage fright, nor did his speech deviate from the topic.
Though Xu Mumu couldn’t see the scores from the judges, she could tell they were pretty pleased. Among the students who went before, Xu Minglei was among the more outstanding ones.
Xu Mumu felt relieved and then turned her attention to Xu Jiaojiao.
Soon, it was Xu Jiaojiao’s turn. Perhaps the morning’s encouragent helped, as she didn’t seem too nervous, managing to express everything she needed to.
Xu Mumu had already known Xu Jiaojiao had a talent for language and writing. Once she wasn’t afraid of the stage, Xu Mumu admitted Xu Jiaojiao spoke even better than Xu Minglei.
"Your sister has quite a high level." Su Yue’e said, surprised.
"Indeed, she’s quite good. She’s more suited in this area than Minglei." Xu Mumu nodded in agreent.
The remaining students took to the stage one after another, with each having only a short ti to speak. Xu Mumu listened to so, watching her two siblings whisper to each other and occasionally glance around, likely searching for her.
Xu Mumu smiled faintly but didn’t approach them. There were too many people, and outsiders weren’t allowed over there. It wouldn’t be too late to go over after everything ended.
After the competition ended, Xu Mumu, who was not far from Xu Minglei and Xu Jiaojiao, imdiately went over.
"Big sister, where were you just now? We couldn’t spot you anywhere," Xu Jiaojiao’s eyes lit up as she looked at Xu Mumu. They had searched but couldn’t find their big sister anywhere.
"I was watching you from the backstage. You guys did great," Xu Mumu praised the two youngsters with a smile.
"Over there? Oh, I see." Xu Jiaojiao looked over; there was a door blocking the view, so they couldn’t see what was inside.
"Sis, those people today were amazing." Xu Minglei’s mood was sowhat downcast. He realized today that there were so many better than him.
"That’s why you need to work even harder." Xu Mumu raised her hand to pat his head. With so hard work now, he’ll certainly have an easier ti in the future. She believed he would thank her soday.
"Mm, I will." A fierce determination flared in Xu Minglei’s eyes. He was outdone by so many because he hadn’t learned well enough and needed to work much harder.
