Xu Mumu had a simple breakfast, and the ho was already bustling with activity.
Yin Yang had to help bring over the relatives from the hotown, Xu Minghui had taken people to welco the bride, and guests on the Xu Family’s side had already started arriving. These were mostly friends Xu Hai and his wife made after moving to the provincial city, and so were Xu Minghui’s classmates.
Xu Mumu’s assigned task was to look after her little brother, ensuring he didn’t run around. Today was quite busy with many people, and Li Caixia and the others definitely couldn’t manage everything. Xu Mumu was pregnant, so they didn’t dare let her do much; looking after Fengfeng seed quite easy.
Xu Mumu stayed ho temporarily, watched the two younger brothers have breakfast, and then slowly headed to the restaurant with them.
Originally, Xu Minglei wanted to be the best man, but unfortunately, he was assigned by their mother to take care of his sister.
"Sis, when do you think our brother and the others will be back?" Xu Minglei asked eagerly as they walked towards the restaurant.
"They’ll definitely be back before noon," Xu Mumu said with a smile. Now that the roads are all repaired, Xu Minghui even bought a car, so driving over won’t be slow. They should definitely bring back the sister-in-law before noon.
Plus, Xu Minghui left quite early since the Jiang Family is a bit far away.
"I’ve only t sister-in-law twice; I don’t know if she’s easy to get along with," Xu Minglei said expectantly, a bit worried that she might not be easy to deal with. Suddenly having a new person in the house, it would be hard to adjust if she’s difficult.
"She should be alright; I think sister-in-law is quite easygoing. What are you thinking about all day?" Xu Mumu teased as she pinched Xu Minglei’s cheek with a smile.
"Sis, sister-in-law is going to give out red envelopes," Fengfeng said excitedly, holding Xu Mumu’s hand. The little boy already knew about red envelopes. A few days ago, Li Caixia and the others prepared quite a few red envelopes at ho, and the little boy knew there was money inside, so he really wanted one, but Li Caixia wouldn’t give it to him.
Now, he’s set his sights on sister-in-law for them.
"Don’t worry, you’ll get yours," Xu Mumu laughed and said, surprised that this little rascal not only had a bit of vanity but also loved money. Like mother like daughter, it seems.
"Fengfeng, once you get a red envelope, mom will surely keep it for you, and you won’t get the money," Xu Minglei said gleefully. Every New Year, the money received at grandpa’s place was all kept by mom, supposedly saved for his future wedding. He hasn’t seen a di of it yet.
"Sis??" The little boy looked bewilderedly at his sister. Is it really like that?
"Yes, your second brother is right," Xu Mumu said with a smile, teasing the little one. She was telling the truth; Fengfeng was so small, if he lost his money, their mom would be heartbroken, so of course she’d keep it safe for him.
Besides, the family wasn’t lacking in food or drink, so he didn’t need to carry money around.
The little guy pouted, almost crying—mom was so an.
"Alright, we’re almost at the restaurant, and there are lots of wedding candies inside. Shall we go have so?" Seeing that the little one was about to cry, Xu Mumu quickly shifted his attention. The restaurant did indeed have plenty of sunflower seeds and wedding candies, all prepared by Xu Minghui.
He even owned a departnt store, so getting these things was a breeze and didn’t cost him much.
"I want gummy candies," the little guy quickly shifted his attention. His favorite had changed from fruit candies to gummies.
"Not sure if they have any, but if not, I’ll take you to buy so after lunch," Xu Mumu said, holding the little guy’s hand as they headed towards the restaurant. Li Caixia and the others had been extrely busy lately, so Xu Mumu often took care of the little one. His behavior had been quite good, so she was more than happy to get him so candies.
"Sister is the best; I love sister the most," the little guy said softly.
Xu Mumu tapped the little guy’s forehead—he certainly knew how to be sweet-tongued.
"Sis, it seems like the little brother is not so little anymore; he’s three and a half. I wonder when mom and dad will send him to kindergarten," Xu Minglei asked, thinking their brother wasn’t dumb, so starting school early would be good.
"He’s still a bit small; he might not adapt well to kindergarten yet. Waiting another year won’t hurt," Xu Mumu looked at their little brother, who was robust and healthier than most kids, appearing a little taller than other four-year-olds.
"Hehe, when I’m free, I’ll take him to play at the kindergarten a couple of tis. Huo invested in several schools, and one of them has a nice kindergarten. I heard there are a lot of toys there, so if we take little brother, he’s bound to love it," Xu Minglei chuckled, feeling a bit envious of his little brother, who had so much playti each day.
"You know quite a bit, huh," Xu Mumu comnted, amused. Her brother seed to have a knack for gossip, knowing a little bit of everything.
"Of course, Huo’s been to our house for several als, and I overheard him talking to brother-in-law at the dinner table," Xu Minglei said with a grin. He had a good mory and rembered everything they talked about. Listening to them, he felt awed each ti; brother-in-law and Huo were really impressive, whereas their big brother and the family’s small business seed like child’s play to them.
"Sister, toys," the little rascal, although unclear about what second brother said, keenly caught the word ’toys’ and looked at Xu Mumu with shining eyes.
"Don’t bother your sister, I’ll take you to play in a few days," Xu Minglei said, holding his little brother’s other hand. His little brother was always vying for his sister’s attention; better send him to school soon, so he wouldn’t have much ti to compete for their sister.
"Second brother is the best," the little guy imdiately praised his second brother.
"Hmph, you always say the best about soone; who taught you that?" Xu Minglei huffed, seemingly unimpressed by his little brother’s flattery.
At this mont, Xu Mumu’s belly was slightly round, and with the weather getting hot, she dressed lightly. With Xu Minglei watching, he took her to a spot Yin Yang had arranged previously.
Yin Yang, worried about Xu Mumu’s comfort, had set up a vacant room early on for her to rest.
As soon as Xu Mumu arrived, Li Caixia and the others noticed, and then instructed Xu Minglei to take his sister to rest. They had been walking for quite a while and certainly deserved a good rest.
"Second brother, I want gummy candies," little Xu Mingfeng tugged on his brother’s shirt. Mom and dad told him to stay with his sister and not to run off, as there were big cats outside that snatch kids.
"You stay here and watch over sister, and I’ll go get you candies and sunflower seeds," Xu Minglei nodded, then entrusted the honorable and daunting task of taking care of sister to his little brother.
