"Your brother bought these fruits back, I heard they’re quite tasty, called Hami lons. Just peel them, and they’re ready to eat," Jiang Yuxiu said with a smile.
"I know how to eat this, let handle it," Xu Mumu said, also smiling.
She went to the kitchen to get a knife, swiftly peeled it, scooped out the seeds, washed it, and then cut it into small pieces to put on a plate.
"Try it, the taste is quite good. If only there was yogurt, it would be perfect to pour so in," Xu Mumu said, picking up a piece and putting it in her mouth. It indeed tasted quite good.
"What’s yogurt?" Jiang Yuxiu asked curiously since there was no such thing as yogurt back then.
"It’s a kind of milk," Xu Mumu said, not knowing how to explain yogurt.
"Isn’t it because it’s spoiled that it turns sour?" Li Caixia sneered, but this Hami lon tasted pretty good. It’s really delicious.
Xu Mumu didn’t want to speak. Her mother’s way of understanding things was unmatched. Well, it’s better not to argue, since you can’t explain it.
"This lon is quite tasty. Next ti, have Minghui bring more back to eat," Li Caixia said happily, enjoying it. Now that her son runs a big supermarket, there are so many things in there that they occasionally get to enjoy so rarities.
"Sure, I saw quite a few of these lons in the storeroom. I heard they keep well, so we can take our ti eating them," Jiang Yuxiu said with a smile. She also thought the lon was nice—sweet but not cloying, crunchy, and juicy.
The family all really liked eating these Hami lons. Even Lian Fengfeng especially liked them, not worrying about gaining weight or anything. After finishing the Hami lon on the fruit plate, they still wanted more.
"It’s all gone," Fengfeng said regretfully.
"It’s gone. Look at your belly. You’ve eaten so much, you won’t have room for dinner later," Li Caixia continued to jab at her son’s heart.
With his chubby little hand, Fengfeng touched his belly, his mouth forming a pout, almost about to cry.
But there were many people around, with Doudou also present. If he cried, it would be too embarrassing.
Tears welled up in his eyes but he held them back.
Looking at the little guy, Xu Mumu almost burst into laughter. How could her little brother be so funny?
But to avoid making her little brother angry, Xu Mumu held back her laughter.
The New Year passed by leisurely, and soon it was ti for the big New Year’s celebration. Madam Chen directly called her sons over to celebrate together.
The house beca lively at once, and Xu Mumu also t Xu Xue’s partner, the one nad Xia Chengyuan.
Xia Chengyuan was quite tall and good-looking, wearing glasses and looking very refined and courteous.
Seeing the people from the Old Xu Family, whom he had t once at the last New Year’s feast, he basically recognized them all, so he greeted them all with a smile.
On Xu Mumu’s side, it was still Xu Xue who introduced them, and Xia Chengyuan greeted everyone with a smile.
"Hello, big sister and brother-in-law," Xia Chengyuan smiled and greeted the two.
"Hello," Yin Yang nodded faintly, having nothing much to say.
"Co in and sit down, don’t just stand there," Xu Mumu smiled and ushered everyone inside.
Although she didn’t quite like Xu Xue, Xu Mumu still handed the child over to Yin Yang and joined them herself.
"When did you two start dating?" Xu Mumu asked curiously.
"It’s been two months," Xu Xue blushed. Having been together for so long, she thought Xia Chengyuan was quite wonderful. He liked her and always thought of her, very considerate.
Now she wasn’t so fixated on Huo Qingze anymore, comparing the two, pursuing Huo Qingze was too difficult, and she wasn’t sure she wouldn’t end up investing more herself. She now enjoyed the feeling of being doted on by Xia Chengyuan more.
"That’s nice. Is Mr. Xia from Shengjiang too?" Xu Mumu looked at Xia Chengyuan, rembering from the book that he seed to be a local from Shengjiang.
"Yes, my family does so small business here," Xia Chengyuan smiled sheepishly.
"I see. You two seem to have a good relationship, when are you planning to get married?" Xu Mumu asked with a smile.
"Soon," Xu Xue blushed and shared their plans.
Xia Chengyuan is the youngest at ho, and his parents treat him well, but there are quite a few children in the family, and sotis they can’t take care of everything. Originally, Xu Xue didn’t insist on marrying into them, but she said she planned to buy a house next door as a bridal ho.
Planning to be like Xu Mumu and the others, staying closer to ho so she could still be the mistress of the second house.
But seeing Xu Xue struggling at ho, Xia Chengyuan agreed to marry into her family. Anyway, his sisters-in-law probably didn’t want him to return and divide the family properties either.
Xia Chengyuan agreed and went back to persuade his parents for a long ti. It’s not clear how he convinced them, but now both parents have t, and they are already starting to discuss the wedding arrangents.
However, the two still have half a sester before they graduate. Even if they wanted to get married, they would have to wait until after graduation.
This year Xia Chengyuan spent the New Year at the Xu Family and understood why Xu Xue wanted to bring a son-in-law ho. Seeing the future mother and father-in-law, no wonder Xu Xue wasn’t at ease.
During the second house’s New Year’s feast, he’d already seen how many people were in the Xu family. Xu family brothers each have several children, which was astonishing to Xia Chengyuan. He thought having two brothers and a sister was a lot already, but didn’t expect so many people in the Xu family.
Moreover, these Xu Family children were extraordinarily brilliant.
He had thought his college entrance exams went pretty well, but looking at the cousins’ plans, it seed like each of them was preparing to get into Hua University. As soon as he walked into the main house, he saw a pile of certificates—so belonged to the cousins, and a few belonged to this eldest cousin.
Xu Mumu’s na was quite famous, being a forr top scorer of the college entrance exams. When he learned about this, Xia Chengyuan was stunned.
These Xu Family children were so outstanding. Their family’s ancestors must have done sothing good.
However, not everyone was good at academics. For instance, the cousin from the third house, who after attending elentary school, spent the most ti playing at ho, unlike his other cousins.
"How soon is soon?" Xu Mumu’s eyes lit up imdiately, amazed that this pair was about to succeed. It was so miraculous.
On the other side, Qian Ying was pricking her ears to listen. She was quite optimistic about Xia Chengyuan. Since he was Xu Xue’s classmate and had made it to university, he couldn’t be bad, plus Xia Chengyuan’s family conditions weren’t bad either. She was very satisfied with this son-in-law.
Even though her daughter was to marry in, the family decisions were still Xu Xue’s. Qian Ying hoped Xu Xue could get married soon. She was already in her twenties; anwhile, Xu Mumu had already had children, and she wanted to beco a grandmother.
Kangkang was growing up too. Seeing Fengfeng already going to kindergarten made her want to send her own son to school by next year.
