Dirk Carter was speaking while Charlotte Ray kept staring at him.
After he finished speaking,
Charlotte Ray remained silent for a long ti.
Finally, she nodded and said, "Alright, as long as you say it, I will trust you. Like I said before, if you encounter any difficulties in your work at Kenton County, I will do everything in my power to help you."
Dirk Carter rembered the note she left the last ti she left, it had the sa words.
The difference was, last ti she said she would help within her capabilities.
But this ti, she used the words "do everything in my power."
Perhaps last ti, it was simply gratitude for curing an illness.
This ti, it was gratitude for not harming the daughter.
The level of it was clearly different.
Monday.
Dirk Carter went to work as usual.
After the regular work eting was over,
Dirk Carter made a call to the office director, Russell Sadler.
After Russell Sadler ca in, Dirk Carter said, "Director Shaw, please notify everyone, and call Director Lewis to co with to School No. 3."
"School No. 3?"
Russell Sadler was montarily stunned and asked.
Dirk Carter frowned and asked, "Is there a problem?"
Russell Sadler waved his hands repeatedly and said, "No problem, no problem, I'll go prepare right away."
After speaking, he hurriedly went out.
A few minutes later,
Rand Quance also learned about Dirk Carter's plan to visit School No. 3.
His heart was troubled.
He imdiately called Yorke Payne.
However, Yorke Payne, on the other end of the call, was unhurried.
He said, "Let him go. He's the director; it's normal for him to conduct investigations. Are you going to stop him?"
"But boss, about School No. 3..."
Rand Quance was about to explain.
But he was interrupted by Yorke Payne: "Director Quance, what's wrong? Why are you so panicked? Isn't School No. 3 under the jurisdiction of the Education Bureau? That issue is over and has nothing to do with anyone anymore. Don't ss up your plans, okay? If you are worried, just go with him."
Those words.
Were like a calming pill.
They steadied Rand Quance's anxious heart.
He paused and said, "Alright, boss, I understand."
Yorke Payne responded with a hum and said, "Ah, Rand, this Dirk Carter is indeed a troublemaker and quite capable. But rember this: this is Kenton County, not Stillwater County. Sches may work montarily, but they aren't a long-term strategy. With here, Dirk Carter won't cause a stir. You and I won't have any issues, got it?"
"Alright, boss, I was just in a hurry."
Rand Quance said ekly.
Fifteen minutes later,
at the entrance of the Education Bureau,
as Dirk Carter walked out, Gwendolyn Lewis and several other leaders from various departnts were already waiting at the door.
Just as everyone was about to get into the car,
Rand Quance suddenly ca out too.
"Oh, Director Carter, where are you headed?"
He asked, feigning ignorance.
Dirk Carter smiled and said, "I've been in the position for quite a while now, and I thought I'd go down to have a look around. Do you have any business, Director Quance? Do you want to join us?"
Inviting him?
That invitation was like another dose of reassurance.
Rand Quance felt even more certain.
If Dirk Carter could invite him, it was clear there was no collusion with Myra Walsh, and whether he went or not was the sa.
Waving his hand, he said, "No, I have so other things. It's good for Director Carter to go and take a look."
"Alright then, Director Quance, we'll head off first."
After speaking,
Dirk Carter got into the car.
"Why did you invite him along?"
After the car drove out of the courtyard,
Gwendolyn Lewis lowered her voice and asked.
Dirk Carter smiled and said, "He must have known about our trip to School No. 3. Suddenly coming out like that, he clearly wanted to go with us. So, I went along with him and invited him, which relieved his doubts."
"What if he actually goes with us?"
Gwendolyn Lewis asked in confusion.
Dirk Carter smiled and said, "Let him co. The result will be the sa."
Upon hearing this,
Gwendolyn Lewis let out a deep sigh, her heart growing more apprehensive.
In her eyes,
what Dirk Carter was about to do might plunge the entire educational system of Kenton County into chaos.
Of course, this was also a gamble.
Dirk Carter was also gambling with his own future.
Thinking, since she's already on board a pirate ship, she could only go with the flow, taking things one step at a ti.
Twenty minutes later,
two cars from the Education Bureau stopped at the entrance of Kenton County High School No. 3.
The principal of School No. 3, Buckley Quill, was already waiting with the main leadership team at the entrance.
As Dirk Carter got out of the car,
Buckley Quill, a short man with thick glasses, eagerly greeted him, shaking his hand and saying, "Director Carter, welco to School No. 3 for your guidance."
"This is..."
Dirk Carter turned to Gwendolyn Lewis beside him and asked.
Gwendolyn Lewis imdiately said, "This is Principal Buckley Quill of School No. 3."
"Oh, so it's Principal Quill. I've heard so much about you."
Dirk Carter said with a smile.
Buckley Quill nervously replied, "Director Carter, when you say that, I feel overwheld. The call from the bureau ca so suddenly, I didn't have ti to prepare much. I'm afraid of not doing enough to welco Director Carter."
"It's fine, it's fine. I'm just here to casually look around. As one of the top high schools in Kenton County, I ca with a learning mindset. Principal Quill, I hope you can teach a lot."
"Director Carter, you are too kind. Please, co inside."
After so pleasantries,
everyone surrounded Dirk Carter and entered the main gate of School No. 3.
Under the guidance of Buckley Quill, Dirk Carter first visited the school's playground and cafeteria, then proceeded to the staff office building where he interacted with teachers who weren't in class.
The entire process was carried out properly,
with no unexpected incidents happening.
Seeing that they had almost gone through the whole procedure,
Buckley Quill said, "Director Carter, why don't we go to the eting room, and I'll call everyone over for you to give them a lecture."
"Oh dear, Principal Quill, you flatter . As soone outside the education system, how can I lecture everyone? How about this: can we go to the teaching building instead?"
Dirk Carter asked.
"Sure, sure, of course, that's fine. Let's go, Director Carter, let lead you."
After speaking,
Buckley Quill led the way, leading Dirk Carter and his group into the main teaching building.
The teaching building has four floors.
The first floor houses several multipurpose classrooms, the second floor has twelve classes of the first-year students, the third floor has the second-year students, and the fourth floor has the third-year students.
After reaching the second floor,
Buckley Quill did not stop but continued towards the third floor.
Dirk Carter said, "Principal Quill, why don't we start on the second floor?"
Buckley Quill was montarily taken aback,
then quickly forced a smile and said, "Of course, it's all up to Director Carter."
Before coming,
Dirk Carter was already aware that Carrick Hall attended class 8 of the first year.
Everyone was in class at the ti.
The group walked by from outside the windows, seemingly taking a casual tour, but Dirk Carter's peripheral vision was constantly focused on the classes.
Quickly, they reached the door of Class 8 of the first year.
Dirk Carter halted,
gazing inside through the window.
Suddenly,
his eyes fixed.
He pointed to an empty seat in the third row, asking Buckley Quill, "Principal Quill, why is that seat empty?"
Originally, when Dirk Carter stood at the door of class 8, Buckley Quill was already nervous.
Now, being suddenly asked such a question, he shuddered and said, "Perhaps... possibly a student asked for leave."
"Oh? Did they fall sick?"
Dirk Carter asked.
Buckley Quill felt guilty, stumbling over his words, "This... I'm not really sure."
"That's understandable. You're the principal; you can't possibly know the whereabouts of every student, right?"
"Yes, yes, thank you for understanding, Director Carter. Let's continue ahead."
Buckley Quill quickly made an inviting gesture.
Dirk Carter took a few steps forward.
At the door,
he didn't proceed further but instead, with his hands behind his back, walked into the classroom of Class 8 of the first year.
An assistant principal, standing the closest, quickly said to the students, "Everyone, please welco Director Carter with a round of applause..."
These kids had never seen such a scene before,
and they were montarily stunned,
but seeing their teacher clapping, they began to clap along.
