Seemingly noticing Dirk Carter's confusion.
Dorothy Zechariah pointed at the woman on stage and said, "Elsie Eas, the starlet of Ardmore City's TV station."
With this reminder,
Dirk Carter suddenly understood.
No wonder she looked so familiar; it was Elsie Eas.
This woman, exuding charisma, was known by nearly everyone in Ardmore City. She was not only the host of the news channel but also a famous variety show called "Happiness Together."
She was naturally the dream goddess of many n.
Being able to invite soone like Elsie Eas to endorse the company shows that Mirena Group is not lacking in strength.
After Elsie Eas finished her welcoming remarks.
She raised the microphone and enthusiastically announced, "Now let's welco Mr. Felix Chandler, CEO of Mirena Group, to the stage."
Felix Chandler?
Why does this na also sound so familiar?
Dirk Carter hadn't had ti to think.
He saw a dashing gentleman step onto the stage, politely taking the microphone from Elsie Eas.
The audience burst into applause.
Dirk Carter looked closely, isn't this coincidental? No wonder the na sounded familiar; this so-called Felix Chandler was the sa guy caught having an affair with Joyce Thorne in the storeroom.
"He's the one I was set up to et for a matchmaking, the young master of Mirena Group, and Judson Chandler's son."
anwhile,
Dorothy Zechariah's voice sounded in his ear.
Dirk Carter was montarily taken aback and asked, "He's your matchmaking date?"
"How about it? He's handso, right? Handso and rich. Feeling a bit inadequate?"
Dorothy Zechariah teasingly asked.
Dirk Carter shook his head and said, "Not really."
"You're just jealous, aren't you?"
Dorothy Zechariah covered her mouth and laughed.
Dirk Carter scoffed, thinking, "Jealous? You haven't even started your matchmaking, and he's already ssing around with your best friend. If you were to marry him, your head would be covered in green grass."
Felix Chandler still exuded a strong presence.
He first expressed so words of gratitude.
Then he changed the topic and said, "Mirena Group's successful listing is all thanks to Verdant Group's strong support. On behalf of Mirena Group, I extend my thanks to Verdant Group."
Again, a round of enthusiastic applause.
All eyes were on them.
Dorothy Zechariah got up, bowed slightly, and was about to sit down when Felix Chandler jumped directly off the stage and walked over to their table, saying, "Miss Zechariah, as the chairman is not here today, would you like to say a few words on behalf of Verdant Group?"
Dorothy Zechariah waved her hand repeatedly.
Felix Chandler didn't press further.
He politely smiled and returned to the stage.
He said, "Alright, the second item for today is that with Mirena Group's listing, our apparel stores will accelerate opening nationwide. To better promote the concept of Mirena Apparel, today we proudly announce our brand ambassador."
With that,
he went to the back of the stage.
He pulled hard on a red cloth.
A giant poster was revealed to everyone.
Amidst a chorus of surprises,
Dirk Carter was stunned.
Because the brand ambassador on the giant poster was Corrine Quance.
It seed no one had inford him of this.
"Wow, it's Corrine Quance! I really like her!"
Dorothy Zechariah also exclaid in surprise at the sight.
The enthusiastic response made Felix Chandler very pleased.
He gestured to the side of the stage and said, "Since everyone is so pleased, I'll give you another surprise. Let's warmly welco Miss Corrine Quance on stage."
Corrine Quance was here too?
Dirk Carter was still in a daze.
Dressed in an evening gown, Corrine Quance walked gracefully onto the stage.
As she took the microphone, she noticed Dirk Carter sitting in the front center. She jolted for a mont, then her smile grew even larger.
Beside her, Dorothy Zechariah, resembling a little fangirl, covered her mouth, looking quite surprised.
After so formal remarks,
Felix Chandler declared the banquet started.
Corrine Quance stepped off the stage to change her outfit for the performance.
The waitstaff began to serve the dishes.
The atmosphere on the scene beca lively.
Felix Chandler, holding a glass of red wine, approached their table and sat beside Dorothy Zechariah.
He had noticed Dirk Carter earlier because Dorothy Zechariah had only him beside her.
Seeing Dirk Carter dressed casually, he assud he was just a bodyguard or chauffeur and didn't pay much attention.
"Hello, Miss Zechariah. Earlier today, your father called , asking to take good care of you."
With that, he raised his glass towards Dorothy Zechariah.
After clinking glasses with him, Dorothy Zechariah said, "My dad wants to go on a blind date with you."
This straightforward comnt startled Felix Chandler for a mont before he smiled and tried to appear elegantly asked, "I wonder what Miss Zechariah thinks of ?"
"Not bad."
Dorothy Zechariah replied.
This comnt brought a triumphant smile to Felix Chandler's face.
Just as he was about to be overjoyed,
Dorothy Zechariah said, "But I'm sorry, I already have a boyfriend, so let's just go through the motions with this blind date."
"Boyfriend?"
Upon hearing this, Felix Chandler's actions froze.
After a pause, he said, "But your father told you've always been single."
"That's because he didn't know. Let introduce you, my boyfriend, Dirk Carter."
In front of Felix Chandler,
Dorothy Zechariah linked her arm with Dirk Carter's.
Dirk Carter felt a bit awkward for a mont, cleared his throat, and said, "Uh...well...I'm Dorothy's boyfriend, my na is Dirk Carter."
Dirk Carter?
Felix Chandler searched his mind for the na.
Thinking back and forth, he couldn't recall any wealthy families with soone nad Dirk Carter.
Although inwardly angry, he still pretended to be calm and asked, "Oh? Mr. Carter, which group are you the young master of?"
"Oh, I'm not any young master. I'm just an ordinary office worker, but I do have social insurance and housing fund."
Upon hearing this,
Dorothy Zechariah couldn't help but chuckle.
Felix Chandler's face turned various shades of color. In his view, Dirk Carter was intentionally provoking him.
"Mr. Carter, you jest. Miss Zechariah is a phoenix among won. If you were an ordinary man, how could Miss Zechariah fancy you?"
Felix Chandler's words were both a mockery and a test.
Dorothy Zechariah covered her mouth with a smile and said, "Dirk wasn't lying. He's indeed an office worker in the education system, earning only four thousand a month. But he wasn't boasting; he does have social insurance and a housing fund, haha..."
Originally thinking his opponent was formidable, he didn't expect such an ordinary person.
Though dissatisfied.
He held so contempt.
Since the opponent was of such caliber, he was naturally no match.
Instantly, an idea ford in his mind.
He signaled to a waiter nearby and whispered a few words in his ear.
Shortly after,
a man in his thirties, wearing a suit, hurried over.
Once in front of them, he bowed to Felix Chandler and said, "Hello, Mr. Chandler. I'm the lobby manager here, my surna is Luo."
Felix Chandler furrowed his brows and asked, "Manager Luo, I rember we have dress codes at The Golden Goblet Grand Hotel, right?"
Manager Luo quickly nodded and said, "Yes, n must wear suits and ties, and won must wear evening gowns. Otherwise, they won't be allowed entry."
"Oh, is that so? But the situation I see doesn't seem that way. What, Manager Luo, are you treating , Felix Chandler, differently?"
With these words,
Manager Luo's expression changed.
He imdiately noticed Dirk Carter, who had attended without formal wear.
"Mr. Carter, don't misunderstand. I'm not targeting you. It's just that I want to dress more casually like you, but this restaurant won't allow in. Do you think they're looking down on ?"
Felix Chandler insidiously remarked to Dirk Carter.
It seed like an explanation, but it was actually a mockery.
