The woman panicked as soon as she heard it.
She grabbed Arlo Yarbrough's hand and asked, "What should I do then?"
Arlo feigned seriousness and said, "Here's the deal, co by my place for an hour of treatnt every day after work, and I'll give you a good massage. You'll be fully recovered in three to five months at most."
"That... that makes feel so bad."
The woman said.
Arlo imdiately responded with a serious tone, "Hey, Bebe, don't say that. We're classmates and now colleagues, it's only right for to help you."
This plump woman was Nurse Bebe.
Hearing this, she was quite moved.
She said to Arlo, "Arlo, you are so kind."
Arlo was over the moon.
However, he held back.
He said, "Alright, that's it for today. Rember to co over tomorrow night. I still have two patients, so I won't see you out."
"Alright, you get busy. Oh... I'll treat you to lunch tomorrow if you're free."
"Hmm, we'll see tomorrow."
Arlo replied.
As Bebe stepped out the door.
Arlo started dancing, humming a little tune, looking as jubilant as if he'd won the lottery.
Dirk Carter noticed it, walked over, and asked, "Doctor Arlo, I thought her lumbar spine seed perfectly fine. Did you diagnose her wrong?"
Arlo was taken aback.
He quickly covered Dirk's mouth, made a shushing gesture, and said, "Don't talk nonsense, she's not far away. If she found out, all my efforts would be wasted."
"So you're scamming her?"
"How could you call it a scam? Nurses often have bad backs, I rely..."
Before he could finish, Dirk teased, "You're just looking for a chance to get up close and personal, right?"
As soon as the words were out, Arlo's face turned red then white.
Caden Dixon noticed the banter between the two and coughed, saying, "Alright, let's talk business."
The two young n stuck out their tongues and quieted down.
"Dirk, what are you thinking by agreeing to that job switch? It's clear Bjorn Dixon did it on purpose, why agree?"
Caden asked with a bit of displeasure.
Dirk chuckled and said, "Uncle Caden, don't you know Dimitri Dutton went to Ashmount City?"
"What did he go to Ashmount City for?"
Caden asked.
As soon as he asked, Caden shivered, sat up straight, and asked nervously, "Could it be..."
Dirk nodded and said, "Bjorn has so brains; he's noticed sothing up with Kelton Levin's case, so he sent Dimitri Dutton to Ashmount City to investigate your background. If nothing goes wrong, he should have found out about the connection between you and my father."
"He couldn't have found anything. To prevent Rasco Shaw from finding out, I had all the previous records scrubbed."
Caden scoffed coldly.
Dirk scratched his head and said, "I already had soone make a new set a long ti ago, so he's probably already found out."
Caden's eyes went wide.
He looked at Dirk and asked, "Do you know what you're doing?"
"Of course I do."
"Then why do this?"
Dirk smiled and said, "I did it on purpose."
"To provoke him?"
"Yes, to bring about soone's downfall, you must first drive them mad. If he stays blissfully unaware, what's the fun in that? Besides, he doesn't know about the relationship between my father and Rasco Shaw. Even if he finds out, it won't reach Rasco's ears. Rest assured, if the truth ever does co out, Rasco Shaw will likely want to eliminate him first."
Dirk said.
Caden said with so irritation, "You might have given a heads-up, had worried sick."
Dirk said, "Uncle Caden, doesn't it feel more real this way?"
"Alright, since you have a plan, I won't interfere. Do whatever you want; if anything happens, I'll cover for you."
After saying this.
Caden stood up and left.
At that mont, Dirk was touched.
The path he walked was once shielded by Dylan Tate.
Now that Dylan Tate was gone.
Caden took up that responsibility.
From a certain perspective, he still considered himself quite fortunate.
After pondering for a long ti, he turned around to see Arlo deeply sniffing his own hand.
"What are you doing?"
Dirk asked.
Arlo lecherously said, "These hands of mine just touched Bebe's waist. I've decided not to wash them starting today, I need to savor it."
"Aren't you going to touch it again tomorrow night?"
Dirk asked.
Arlo was stunned, then suddenly realized, "Oh yeah, I get to touch it again tomorrow, haha, I get to touch it again tomorrow."
Dirk saw this.
He leaned in and said, "Do you want to get you so aphrodisiacs so you can just take her and finish the ga?"
Arlo put on a serious face and said, "A true gentleman acts with integrity. If I like her, I'll pursue her properly. Do you think I'm like you?"
"Then what about that peeping incident?"
Dirk asked.
Arlo was instantly embarrassed.
Dirk laughed, stood up, and said, "You take your ti reminiscing, I'm going to bed."
While Dirk and the others were plotting.
In a private room at The Imperial Grand Hotel.
Bjorn Dixon was also mingling with others.
A table of six.
Apart from Louise Dalton, Wilbur Holloway, Dugan Hamilton, and Delano, Bjorn's newly recruited confidants, there was another person, the County Committee mber and Head of the County Committee Office, Jensen yer.
"Mr. yer, I heard Tyson Ross's matter had quite an impact on you?"
Bjorn raised his wine glass and asked Jensen yer.
Jensen yer sighed and said, "Don't ntion it, what happened with old Tyson, we've had countless etings in the County Committee Office. Though I wasn't reprimanded, things have gotten tough, you know. How could Tyson Ross get so careless?"
Bjorn's eyes twinkled.
He said, "Mr. yer, if you ask , the issue doesn't lie with Tyson Ross; it's mainly Dirk Carter, cocky despite being so young."
"There's nothing we can do, what with him having the backing of Secretary Young."
Jensen yer said with a helpless shake of his head.
"But now that Secretary Young's no longer here, are you really going to just let this slide, Mr. yer, a county leader? That would cause your influence to plumt, wouldn't it?"
Bjorn subtly suggested.
Jensen yer wasn't a fool.
He asked, "Is County Mayor Dixon not fond of this kid either?"
"Well, let's just say people in our system don't typically appreciate soone so unruly," Bjorn stated.
Jensen yer nodded, frowning, "But Dirk Carter is your Deputy County Mayor at the county governnt, and we don't interact much professionally. Even if I wanted to act, I wouldn't know where to start."
"Isn't there an opportunity tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow? What opportunity?"
Jensen yer asked.
Bjorn smirked slightly and said, "The new secretary arrives tomorrow afternoon, and Mr. yer, you're handling the preparations. If during the process, you can make the new secretary skeptical of Dirk Carter, then neither he nor others would dare underestimate the head of the County Committee Office like you."
"Skeptical? How?"
Jensen yer clearly still didn't understand.
Bjorn leaned in close to Jensen yer's ear and whispered a few words.
Jensen yer suddenly understood.
He raised his glass and said, "Then Mr. Dixon, thank you for your help in advance."
"Hey, we're all brothers here, no need for thanks. In the future, while I'm in Kenton County, I'll be counting on Mr. yer to look after ."
For a County Mayor to speak this way to a head of the County Committee Office was clearly raising him up.
Jensen yer felt quite good hearing this.
After the pleasantries were exchanged.
Delano handed a paper bag to Jensen yer.
"What's this..."
Jensen yer asked with curiosity.
Delano chuckled and said, "Mr. yer, this is a gift from the leader for our first al together, I hope you won't mind."
"Oh, I don't know what to say, isn't this a bit too courteous, County Mayor Dixon?"
Jensen yer took the bag and peeked inside.
There weren't many items, just two—a shopping card and a box. Although he didn't know what it was, its high value was evident at first glance.
