"Dirk, don't underestimate this fish ball. It's made from bluefin tuna at, and this beautiful lady kept special spices in her mouth for 48 hours beforehand. So, this fish ball is quite invaluable."

Kian pointed at the fish ball and said.

Dirk quickly waved his hand and said, "No, such a precious dish should be enjoyed by Minister Grant."

Alfie smiled and said, "Since Mr. Holden said it's for you, don't be shy."

The conversation had reached this point.

Any more refusal from Dirk would be pretentious.

He had just picked up his chopsticks.

When Kian pressed them down.

He said, "Dirk, you can't use chopsticks for this fish ball; you have to eat it directly with your mouth to get the taste."

Eat directly with the mouth?

Doesn't that an he has to kiss this woman in front of him?

This group of high-ups really knows how to enjoy life.

At this mont, both Alfie and Kian were staring intently at him.

He also started to realize that only after eating this fish ball would they open up to discuss the real business. If Dirk refused, then they naturally wouldn't talk about anything further.

It looked like a tantalizing dinner.

In reality, it was continuously testing Dirk's attitude.

In this process.

If Dirk showed the slightest reluctance.

They wouldn't maintain such friendly faces.

Having figured this out.

Dirk stood up directly.

And pressed his lips to the woman's.

He not only swallowed the fish ball, but also lingered over the woman's red lips, showing a look of wanting more, and exclaid, "Fragrant, really fragrant!"

"Hahaha..."

The two laughed heartily.

Especially Alfie, who seed very pleased.

He asked, "Dirk, are you full?"

Dirk wiped his mouth and said playfully, "My stomach is full, but I'm a bit hungry elsewhere."

Hearing this, Alfie felt even more assured.

He said, "No rush, we'll talk business first, and Mr. Holden will personally arrange sothing for later."

After speaking.

He snapped his fingers.

The two waiters ca in again, cleaning up the dishes from the woman's body.

The woman then stood up, bowed to the three of them, and left.

Dirk's eyes lingered on the woman.

This scene was caught by the two, who seed quite satisfied too.

"Dirk, we've hit it off at first sight. From now on, let's address each other's positions publicly, but call each other brothers in private. How about it?"

Alfie asked.

Dirk, seemingly flattered, said, "Minister Grant... no, Brother Alfie, just let know if you need anything. I'm willing to go through fire and water."

"Hahaha, no need for such dramatics, but there is sothing that does require your help."

"Brother Alfie, please tell ."

Dirk put on a listening pose.

Alfie paused and said, "Brother, after County Head Tate's incident, the county head position has been vacant. Given the current situation, it's likely Sherman Sumrs will be promoted to county head. But if Sherman moves up, the executive deputy county head position opens up..."

As he spoke of this.

Alfie deliberately paused.

It seed he was giving Dirk ti to think.

Then.

He continued slowly, "There's gossip circulating within the county saying Shane Vincent is likely to be promoted to the executive deputy county head position. You must have heard about this, right?"

After saying this.

He looked at Dirk.

If Dirk initially didn't understand Alfie's intention upon entering, now he understood it almost completely.

He nodded, asking, "Brother Alfie, do you have thoughts about this executive deputy county head position?"

Alfie was taken aback.

Then burst out laughing.

Praising, "No wonder you're a protégé of County Head Tate, truly smart. I would like you, brother, to help your older brother out on this."

Help?

Dirk furrowed his eyebrows.

He said, "Brother Alfie, I'm just a minor deputy county head. How the city organizes things, I'm not in a position to help."

"Dirk, you're being modest."

Alfie said.

Looking at Kian across from them.

Kian seed to realize sothing.

Hurriedly saying, "Dirk, let's speak frankly. Everyone in the county knows Shane Vincent and Dylan Tate never got along, having clashed several tis. After Dylan Tate's death, Shane Vincent actively suggested promoting you to deputy director of the Work Safety Administration. There are only two possibilities: one, Shane Vincent bears no grudge and wants to help an old friend's descendant; two, you, Dirk, have so leverage against Shane Vincent. And based on what we know about Shane Vincent, the latter seems more likely."

Dirk felt a jolt in his heart.

Dylan Tate had warned him many tis that the officialdom was a deep and unfathomable place.

One's words and deeds must be ticulous.

Every little move could expose one's weaknesses.

He really didn't expect yet again to be caught as the mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind him.

His minor dealings with Shane Vincent had been noticed from afar by Alfie.

In a flash.

He realized he was now in a dilemma.

Truth be told, he didn't like Shane Vincent, but Alfie seed no less dangerous.

If he helped Alfie, he couldn't withstand Shane Vincent's backlash.

But if he didn't help, tonight's splendid al might very well be his last supper in the political arena.

After all, Alfie was the Director of the Organization Departnt; promotions for any county-managed officials were in his hands.

More importantly, Dirk didn't want to get entangled in their power struggle.

Having resolved his mind, Dirk said, "Brother Alfie, I think you might be mistaken. Deputy County Head Vincent promoted purely out of gratitude."

"Gratitude? What do you an?"

Alfie asked calmly.

Dirk briefly described his situation with Sierra, focusing only on the rescue aspect.

After hearing it, Alfie furrowed his brows, indicating he believed it.

Originally hoping for unexpected gains, it turned out to be a fruitless celebration.

The leader's face changes swiftly.

Seeing no benefit from Dirk anymore.

Alfie paused, stood up, and said, "Dirk, I just rembered, Mr. Holden and I have a eting at the County Committee, so we won't keep you."

"Alright, Brother Alfie, you get busy."

Having understood.

Dirk naturally didn't care.

He pushed open the private room door just as Zoey Moss ca over.

Alfie said to Zoey, "Zoey, please see Dirk out for , we have to go."

Before Zoey could respond.

The two hurriedly left.

Ca in a hurry, left in a hurry, so unfeeling.

"Dirk, don't take it to heart, our old Alfie is always like that,"

Zoey seed to notice sothing and said to Dirk.

Dirk chuckled and said, "Sister-in-law, you've misunderstood, I was already flattered to have Minister Grant invite for dinner."

Zoey nodded.

She seed to have sothing to say, but in the end held back.

She said, "Alright, Dirk, I'll see you out."

The two walked side by side to the middle of the courtyard garden.

Dirk suddenly stopped and said, "Sister-in-law, physical ailnts can be cured, but it's hard to heal a troubled heart. If not, you won't live for many more years."
