From the safety of the school building, the onlookers were stunned into silence. Earlier, when Duanmu Huai had confidently declared, “I’ll handle the slaughter; you guys just stay back and cheer,” they only considered him arrogant and overconfident. The girl perched on the Four-clawed Beast—presumably the enemy’s boss—turned pale and barked out the order in panic. Instantly, a shadow darted out and rushed into the school building.

With a shriek of agony, the Four-clawed Beast crumpled lifelessly. The black sludge covering its body began to recede like lting snow, revealing the human form within.

The girl who had been riding on the Four-clawed Beast was flung violently to the ground. Upon seeing the man with his chest crushed by Duanmu Huai’s fist, she let out a piercing cry of anguish and tried to rush toward him—only to be grabbed by Duanmu Huai, who hoisted her into the air effortlessly.
