But he had seen enough news reports to know how schools often sweep matters like this under the rug or deal with them by rely firing the offender. So, he chose to go straight to the police and inford the principal afterward. The principal was naturally shocked upon hearing Duanmu Huai’s account but refrained from saying much else. Duanmu Huai, on the other hand, didn’t care if this would lead to his dismissal—after all, this job wasn’t so lifelong pursuit for him anyway.

Just as Duanmu Huai reached his door and began fishing for his keys, a sudden explosion erupted from the apartnt next door. The door burst open instantly, sending smoke and flas swirling out.

Stunned by the abrupt scene, Duanmu Huai froze montarily before quickly spinning around and rushing into the adjacent unit’s blown-apart doorway. If there was a fire, saving lives ca first!
“Hello?! What happened?!”
Rushing into the smoke-filled living room, Duanmu Huai shouted loudly. But the sight that greeted him left him utterly shocked.
The entire living room was splattered with blood. On the floor were the dismbered remains of a man’s corpse and the charred, fragnted remains of a woman. Not far away, a red-haired girl sat frozen in place, staring blankly at the horrific scene, unable to speak. Standing in front of her was a white-haired girl, her expression grim as she stared intently ahead.
