“Only going through selection once and determining the candidates seems rather biased. Moreover, though those in Group B can practice, knowing they cannot advance to the national competition regardless surely leads to slackness. It was manageable with fewer numbers last year, but this year, there are so many people.”
With over a hundred people, only half can go to the national competition while the other half cannot; anyone would gripe about it. If people slack off in practice or don’t practice seriously, it’s understandable.
“Uh…… Teacher Duanmu, so what do you an?”
“My intent is simple.”
Facing Tasuku’s inquiry, Duanmu Huai grinned, flashing a confident smirk.
“Next up are the Kansai competition, then the national competition. So why don’t we hold a selection before every competition!”
Exactly, this reminded Duanmu Huai of the A and B classes back in school; but those classes weren’t permanently fixed. Every month, mock exams would be held, followed by reallocating classes based on the exams. Those improving would go to A class, while those declining would go to B class, thus maintaining students’ tension.
