Chapter 1945: Chapter 1313: Co and Fight!
“You’ve got a lot to learn, little wolf cubs.”
Then, Duanmu Huai spoke.
The battle ca to a pause.
Thanks to Duanmu Huai’s active participation, this raid did not cause any casualties to the team. However, for so, the psychological impact was more severe than the physical pain. A Judge, a re mortal, perford better than the Astartes?
The Space Wolves found this hard to accept. As Astartes, they naturally looked down upon mortals. In their eyes, they were warriors chosen by The Emperor, sacred, and The Emperor’s sharp blade. Of course, they cooperated with the Tribunal, chanic Religion, or other organizations, but they also had their own exclusive pride as Astartes.
But now…
Lana withdrew his gaze, sensing the scent of frustration from his companions. It was understandable. According to the post-battle analysis, the rear of the team encountered a more fierce attack than the front, yet those mortal auxiliary forces and attendants suffered no losses. This ant the Judge dealt with all the attacking Genetic Thieves at the rear on his own and still had ti to assist them!
Although they did kill quite a few Alien Beasts, this fact still made them feel dejected, as though they had disgraced the Space Wolves.
Who exactly is he?
Afterwards, the formation was adjusted. Duanmu Huai was placed in the front as the vanguard, while the Astartes guarded the rear. The Judge and his bodyguards took the middle position as the group continued forward, but this did not stop them from staring at that dark, tall figure, whispering to themselves.
Who exactly is he?
Who is he?
Could he be a Primordial?
The wolf cubs murmured softly, not daring to speak further. They could feel the powerful oppression, not one originating from a mortal. Yet they did not sense any kinship in their bloodlines. The ti of the Empire had long passed, so much so that for these newly born Astartes, it resembled the Deity in myth and legend.
If a mortal dared to be so disdainful, the Astartes would be enraged, but upon catching a glimpse of that dark helt, even a re glance made them feel an irresistible pressure. And so now, the wolf cubs ekly followed behind this mysterious tall figure and continued their march.
The darkness grew more pronounced.
The initially tallic corridor began to gradually change shape, luminescent mucus, ugly decaying spores sprouting from the walls, as if it were not tal but a mass of rotten flesh. Massive veins-like pipes erged from the corrupted flesh, extending all the way to the end.
Lana frowned, sensing the breath of life, but it wasn’t the life sense he hoped for; it was more like a kind of decay. Reminiscent of a swarm of flies surrounding carcasses or maggots writhing on rotten flesh. It was a scent generated only by disease, decay, and festering abscesses.
As if…… as if this steel battleship was sick, infected by so kind of flesh plague, gradually corrupting.
Until the appearance of Duanmu Huai.
Holding the War Hamr, he strode forward. Wherever he went, the mucus began to dry, the abscesses crumbled and fell, corruption rged with the tal, crimson threads that looked like veins gradually retreated before Duanmu Huai. Around him, everything returned to order. The corrosion from Subspace dissipated, the rules of the physical universe were once again stabilized.
Lana didn’t know what was happening. He glanced at Sten and Carla. The forr murmured to himself, gripping his Bomb Gun tightly, unsure what he was saying. The latter just hung her head, silent, like a shadow trailing behind. As for those mortal auxiliary forces… they seed unaware of what occurred, instinctively drawing closer.
Lana could sll the scent emanating from them; nervous, uneasy, along with a certain anticipation.
This was normal; he too felt that a battle was drawing near.
As for the person ahead……
Lana looked again at Duanmu Huai. His aura was calm, composed, even when dealing with those Aliens earlier, his performance seed brutal. But Lana could scent underneath that intense blood sll, there was a sense of tranquility. As if those Aliens ant nothing to him, he was simply on a walk, just like he said before, wandering casually, roaming around, then eliminating the Monsters blocking his path.
Just this simple.
Then, the darkness diminished.
Everyone halted, raising their heads to look forward. In the distance at the end, a huge and bizarre thing appeared before them. It looked like a sick machine, its top glowing with erald light, translucent brain beneath fused with flesh, pipes that were ant to deliver electricity now looked like translucent veins with ovum-like things rolling inside.
Then, they began to rupture.
One by one Genetic Thieves erged, yet they differed sowhat from ordinary Genetic Thieves; although they too had four arms, these Genetic Thieves were covered in abscesses and corruption, looking sickly, like patients suffering a high fever forcibly dragged from their sickbeds.
