Skulls, such terrifying things, shouldn’t appear in luxurious residences, yet here Duanmu Huai specifically designed skull motifs, even using skulls for the staircase handrails, making the place like a haunted house just from imagining it.
But to Blondie’s surprise, seeing it completed, he found the gold and deep red pairing made the skulls far less blatant than he thought, appearing more like thed decorations. They perfectly lded with the scene, creating a unique, heavy, sacred, and solemn beauty.
