Due to this, the cultists seed completely obsessed with the descent of the Mother of Darkness and the gifts they received.
"The great Mother of the Black Goat is about to descend, and everything in this world will be redeed. You can do nothing!"
With the hoarse roar, another burst of gunfire rang out, sweeping across the floor.
"Honestly, these guys are really troubleso."
Xie Sita hid behind the wall, glanced at the stairs behind her, and in the flickering firelight, she could faintly see shadows moving. Clearly, those cultists had already blocked their retreat from behind and were even coming up.
Next to her, Mianmu Zuoniao held the White Wooden Sword, her eyes gleaming as she stared at the passage ahead—the only way leading to the clock tower, a narrow place allowing only one person through. The mirror was set on the tower, and to reach the target location, they first had to cross here.
But now, this was no simple task.
"This isn’t really my style."
Xie Sita smiled and shook her head. As detectives, Duanmu Huai’s style was entirely different from hers. That’s how they ended up in this dilemma.
"Aren’t we ready yet? Can we rush in and kill?"
Mianmu Zuoniao swung the White Wooden Sword eagerly, clearly impatient. Bloodstains covered her now, remnants of the cultists they t along the way. Even for Xie Sita, seeing those cultists’ twisted, distorted bodies caused so unease. However, the girl before her seed unfazed, looking even more excited with each cultist she felled.
Thankfully, she at least knew not to rush out and get shot to pieces.
"Don’t worry, based on my judgnt, a breakthrough is imminent..."
Just as Xie Sita finished, suddenly, a blinding brightness pierced through the windows and walls, turning the dim, lightless church snow-white. The cultists, seemingly unprepared, instinctively scread and raised their hands to shield their eyes.
"Now!"
Mianmu Zuoniao moved even faster than Xie Sita’s words, leaping like a ghost into the passage before her. With a flash of the White Wooden Sword, she pierced through the leading cultist’s hands and head. The sword spun, drawing a curve in the air.
As Xie Sita rushed up the stairs, two heads rolled down like balls, tumbling away beneath her feet.
The two girls quickly reached the top of the clock tower and saw the massive mirror placed there, facing the mountain peaks, reflecting the green moonlight.
"I hope Mr. Duanmu doesn’t think I wasted ti."
Saying this, Xie Sita raised the silver flintlock gun, aid at the massive mirror, and pulled the trigger.
"Bang!!"
The reflected moonlight vanished as the doors that had opened among the mountains started to close. Realizing this, the rolling clouds quickly retreated—the Mother of Darkness was noticeably smaller than when it was summoned. Clearly, descending in an incomplete form imposed so limitations.
However...
"Trying to escape? It’s not that easy!"
Duanmu Huai, grinning viciously, controlled the Divine Machinery, pouncing on the enemy. Flas shot out, piercing through the Mother of Darkness’s bulky form for the first ti. The fire spirit erupted again, scattering from the Mother of Darkness’s crevices, and the sweeping chainsaw sword utterly destroyed it.
Save the big, save the small?
This was no dilemma, because... both must die!
