Duanmu Huai really wanted to interview that old monk. What was he thinking when he watched Cthugya descend from the sky and the scorching flas turned his flesh and bones to ashes? Was he terrified, or expectant, or perhaps in despair? Would he see reality clearly, or would he remain trapped in his delusions until the very end, unable to extricate himself?
Unfortunately, Cthugya did not treat anyone kindly. Just his entrance wiped out everyone on the small mountain top. Not only him, but those Fla Essences fell like raindrops from the sky, quickly igniting everything around. In an instant, the entire mountain top was ablaze, the flas so bright they turned the night sky red! Those standing on the mountain were already turned to ashes at Cthugya’s arrival.
In the past, Duanmu Huai might have had no ans against such a large-scale fire attack, but now things were different, especially after having faced off against Yog Sothoth. Duanmu Huai understood the true manifestation of his ancient abilities.
Shadow and Thousand Eyes were all void; the essence of his ancient ability was — Information Manipulation!
Scan, copy, and print all information in this world. From tangible to intangible, from ti to space, as long as it was "information," Duanmu Huai could manipulate it without fail!
Unfortunately, it seed that modification wasn’t possible, but having the ability to overwrite was enough.
For instance, right now — there was no way Duanmu Huai could use tentacles against Cthugya. Nyarlathotep, after all, was a tentacle demon, yet he was still chased across the universe by Cthugya. Duanmu Huai didn’t believe he could be more powerful than a tentacle demon who had been practicing since birth.
But luckily, Cthugya’s weakness was clear.
Being the God of Fire, naturally water was its counter.
Although this was a mountain top, and unlike the mountain where Duanmu Huai faced the Ground-drilling Worm, without a lake. However, this was Kyoto, and Kyoto had a river called the Yakawa. More importantly, Duanmu Huai had taken ti to enjoy the scenery by the Yakawa — and scanned it.
So, the question arises.
How do you use a scanned river?
Now Duanmu Huai was about to reveal the answer — like this!
Duanmu Huai raised his hand toward the sky. Imdiately, the waters of the Yakawa ford above and then, under gravity, poured down, crashing directly toward Cthugya below!
Seeing this, Duanmu Huai almost wanted to recite, "Haven’t you seen the water of the Yellow River co down from the sky, rushing to the sea never to return...?" In fact, the scene right now was the true depiction of this poem. The cascading river transford into a waterfall descending from the sky, crashing into Cthugya’s face. From a distance, it looked like a dam breaking, releasing floodwaters from the heavens!
"Crash!!!"
The waterfall-like flow descended from the sky, enveloping the entire small mountain. The rushing waters rcilessly swept over everything in their path. Naturally, Gion at the foot of the mountain suffered greatly. In re monts, those ancient houses, with histories spanning hundreds of years, were almost entirely subrged in the torrential floodwaters.
Of course, the situation was more than just a flood. Cthugya’s flas weren’t ordinary; although Duanmu Huai could counter them with water. Yet the fierce flas still evaporated much of the water, wrapping everything around in a sauna-like steam. Furthermore, even the water flowing down from the mountain was boiling hot, akin to scalding hot water!
One can imagine, if soone were unfortunately caught in that boiling water... well, the outco is predictable.
But Duanmu Huai wasn’t concerned with Gion below. In fact, as Cthugya’s flas weakened under the falling river water, he had already summoned the Titan ch without hesitation, charging straight up!
Just like when dealing with Shub-Niggurath, Duanmu Huai did not use purely physical weapons. After all, Cthugya was entirely made of flas, practically immune to physical attacks. In fact, even the Titan ch would heat up when it approached, with its entire body turning red-hot. If it wasn’t Duanmu Huai, who specialized in Physical Attribute and Strength among the Ancient Dominators, anyone else would have already been roasted to charcoal inside this gigantic oven.
Therefore, Duanmu Huai didn’t use brute force weapons but instead transford all the launch devices on the Titan ch into high-pressure water guns, matching the falling river water to shoot directly at Cthugya’s face!
"Buzz———!!"
The powerful high-pressure water gun could even cut through diamonds, and Duanmu Huai’s was terrifyingly powerful. He manipulated the ch to lift its arms, and the nozzles on its arms sprayed two torrents of water like sharp blades, piercing directly into Cthugya’s amorphous, fla-composed, cloud-like massive form. Cthugya roared in agony, twisting its body to try and escape.
But now Duanmu Huai had learned how to deal with such enemies. As the opponent tried to escape, it would inevitably stir the space, causing information interference. So he just had to reset it with one click to restore the spatial information to what it was before!
The effect being, the opponent thinks it has run 800 ters, only to turn around and find itself still in the sa spot!
With this move, Duanmu Huai no longer worried about being too slow to catch up, hahaha!
But to put it plainly... isn’t this just like ghost hitting walls?
No, Duanmu Huai is an Ancient Dominator, so should it be called Ancient Wall-Hitting?
Oh well, it’s all the sa.
Spatial blockade, rainfall from the sky, high-pressure water guns. Poor Cthugya, who is quite a famous Ancient Dominator, was directly overwheld by Duanmu Huai’s three-pronged attack, rendered completely incapacitated. It tried to fight back, but Duanmu Huai’s water kept coming, like a water fight where you have one water gun and the opponent has ten high-pressure water guns—what’s the point in fighting? Just leave—but you can’t leave!
At this mont, Cthugya was gradually losing its spirit, while Duanmu Huai wasn’t doing well either. Nothing in this world appears out of thin air; all the duplicated streams were powered by Duanmu Huai’s Divine Power, making him feel exhausted and overconsud.
Ah, if only it were by the seaside.
If by the seaside, Duanmu Huai could have tossed Cthugya into the ocean, but the problem is Cthugya wouldn’t co to the seaside. It’s because this small mountain is far from the ocean that Cthugya responded to the summoning. Otherwise, if soone summoned it in the deep sea, wouldn’t Cthugya just be sending itself to death?
It’s not foolish.
Now, the area around the small mountain is completely enveloped in white steam, making it impossible to see anything inside. Both Duanmu Huai’s Titan ch and Cthugya were fully hidden in the steam. This is actually a good thing; after all, with their massive sizes, standing there is like Ultraman fighting little monsters, easily spotted by people. After all, this is Kyoto, not so deserted island.
Now, with steam concealing them, nobody can see anything from the outside, allowing Duanmu Huai to act freely!
"Boom...! Boom!!"
In battle with Cthugya, the main strategy is a turn-based exchange; Cthugya itself is an elental type and puts all its combat power into fire. So facing Duanmu Huai, Cthugya is straightforwardly unreserved, spewing a breath of fla directly towards him.
But Duanmu Huai is not backing down, raising his high-pressure water gun to bombard the opponent relentlessly.
To put it plainly, it’s like two kids fighting: I throw you a fireball, you throw a waterball.
In the end, it’s all about who can endure the longest.
Soon, Cthugya’s form began to shrink, and Duanmu Huai’s water flow montum was also not as strong as before. It’s turned into a war of attrition, about who can last longer.
Cthugya was still struggling hard, and Duanmu Huai was determined not to let it escape, though he was a bit uneasy. After all, he still had to deal with Nyarlathotep, who liked to play tricks from the shadows like Ken. Duanmu Huai didn’t like the situation of the mantis stalking the cicada while the Yellow Sparrow lurks behind, so he provocatively challenged Cthugya.
But if facing Nyarlathotep, he might be good at this; if he lingered with Cthugya too long and Nyarlathotep struck from behind—well, that beauty wouldn’t be appreciated.
No choice left, go all out!
With this thought, Duanmu Huai no longer hesitated, decisively went for the victory!
The enormous Titan ch once again lunged forward, charging directly into the burning fire cloud. anwhile, under the scorching heat, the surface of the Titan ch started to lt as well. The molten iron, like the ch’s blood, flowed from its gigantic body, and the whole contraption began to warp and twist as if it were a plastic figurine being burned.
No, it wasn’t like burning, it was actually transforming!
At the mont the Titan ch charged into the fire cloud, Duanmu Huai swiftly transford the gigantic ch into a waterball, and it exploded outwards!
"----------------!!"
Cthugya doesn’t have a physical form, and for this reason, when Duanmu Huai launched an internal attack, Cthugya had no power to resist. The fiery cloud that ford Cthugya exploded apart, sharp, angry howls emanating from it.
But for Duanmu Huai, this was just Cthugya’s final resistance!
At this mont, the dark shadows erupted completely, like a tsunami wave engulfing Cthugya entirely.
