"Ah, thanks, Duanmu, for rescuing . If you hadn’t co sooner, I would have clawed that cow woman’s chest hard!"

Just escaping the sea of hardships, Banai’s first words to Duanmu Huai were this.

Are you really good friends?

"You’re welco."

"But tomorrow, I’ll probably be surrounded by classmates. After all, I’ve t you, so everyone would want to know how we t."

At this point, Banai’s expression looked a bit bitter.

"Do you need to tell them how I witnessed you getting dumped by that guy?"

"............Ah, thinking about that makes feel gloomy. Let’s not talk about it."

Banai shook his head.

"What club do you plan to join, Duanmu?"

The two had already arrived at the bulletin board, posting club recruitnt notices here year-round. If you’re interested in joining a club, you’d usually start looking here.

"Isn’t it you who wants to join a club?"

"Having a companion makes feel more at ease. Also, I’m curious about your thoughts, Duanmu."

"A club, huh........."

Thinking about it, Duanmu Huai couldn’t help but recall the Demon Society in the Demon World he encountered, and the Wind Instrunt Club, where he joined as a consultant teacher, never as a student enjoying club activities.

Perhaps trying it out would be quite interesting?

"I’m definitely not joining sports clubs."

"Why? Is it because of health reasons?"

Banai glanced at Duanmu Huai, who shook his head.

"Sports clubs usually require competing, right? With my acting gigs, it’s hard to find the ti."

"Ah, that’s true......

High school sports activities don’t gain much even at national competitions, whereas Duanmu Huai stars in top-notch movies that can’t be compared for influence or popularity.

"Then......the Drama Club, Light Music Club, perhaps?"

"Are we just looking for trouble?"

A professional artist participating in a high school club? It’s a dinsional blow, not like an NBA star dressing up as an old man for street basketball entertainnt. Moreover, clubs at Yang Gao are far weaker compared to other schools since it’s a performing arts-focused school. There are nurous professionals, who’d show off in front of Guan Gong?

"What do you think, Duanmu?"

"Hmm......"

Facing Banai’s clueless question, Duanmu Huai thought for a mont.

"If there’s a club researching supernatural phenona, I’d be quite interested."

Since research on puberty syndro through the internet was stagnant and required ti to filter information, from Duanmu Huai’s mory, these student clubs usually avidly hunted supernatural phenona—there might be leads to find.

"Are you a fan of the supernatural, Duanmu?"

"Not exactly, just curious. After all, I’ve fild many of these types of movies but haven’t really seen supernatural phenona."

"Speaking of which, I have seen several of your horror films......"

Saying this, Banai gazed at Duanmu Huai with emotion.

"Thinking about it, how remarkable you are."

"Hmm?"

"Such a famous actor, actually from our school, and now beside ? Having watched you on screen, it feels unreal, like a movie character stepping into reality."

"Perhaps, just like in movies, associating with might bring trouble."

"That might actually be nice...... Hmm, but our school seems to lack such clubs."

Saying this, Banai scanned the notices on the bulletin board.

"Anyway, art clubs are active in the west wing. Let’s take a look."

Just looking at the notices doesn’t reveal much, it’s better to see the activities personally.

Being a school with low deviation scores, it doesn’t stress grades much, so students co here more to enjoy school life, with nurous clubs. However, though Duanmu Huai and Banai searched around, they didn’t find a proper club.

"Strangely, I thought any club would do, but there are surprisingly few suitable ones."

Walking in the hallway, Banai tilted his head in doubt, while Duanmu Huai shrugged.

"Not to ntion that, I didn’t expect you’d be quite popular in the regular course, Banai."

Due to Duanmu Huai’s fa, every club had Banai going ahead, and many club mbers scread at the sight of her, even becoming awkwardly nervous. Even if so clubs weren’t so warm, they turned into fan gatherings once Duanmu Huai entered.

"I think the Ani Club seems interesting, watching ani and reading comics together."

"But don’t they also draw manga and do cosplay? I have a feeling they’d make us go onstage eventually."

Though the Ani Club president claid even just showing up would be fine, from the mbers’ staring gaze, it’s obvious they have different thoughts.

"How about the Ga Club then? I am quite interested in gaming."

"Gaming, huh... I’m not familiar with it, but don’t dislike it either. The club’s interpersonal drama gives a headache though......

At this point, Banai looked as though she’d swallowed sothing bitter and pressed her stomach. The Ga Club had two n and three won. While showcasing hospitality to Duanmu Huai and Banai, they realized the relationships were tangled like a ss: the pink-haired woman dated the tall guy but seed closer to the short guy; the blonde woman liked the short guy, while he seed to favor the pink-haired woman; yet, the tall guy currently dating the pink-haired woman seed more interested in a blue-haired girl......

It felt like an electrical circuit diagram, tangled and ssy.

Though Duanmu Huai wanted to watch the drama unfold from a pri seat, seeing this scenario seed to trigger Banai’s psychological shadow, twisting her expression, leaving Duanmu Huai no choice but to take her away.

"The Biological Departnt has fewer people, right."

"Just one person, but I can’t understand a word she’s saying."

Banai was speechless and held her head in her hands; the Biological Departnt had only one girl, a petite girl with glasses. Her personality was rather cold, which wasn’t a big deal. The problem was that Duanmu Huai and Banai couldn’t understand a word she was saying—quantum chanics, entanglent, and such. Just listening to it made their heads spin.

Sure enough, this kind of thing is not sothing a poor student like should approach.

"Oh, right, that Food Research Departnt seems interesting!"

Banai clapped her hands excitedly.

"You just want to eat, don’t you? Then why don’t you join?"

"..........The head and deputy head of that departnt seem to be childhood friends."

For so reason, Banai looked out the window, her eyes lifeless.

"Yeah, and she even said the head was hers and hers alone..."

At that ti, Banai’s expression looked as if she’d been stabbed in the heart and then told, "There’s nothing inside." Duanmu Huai couldn’t help but want to offer incense for her; it was just so tragic.

"Yeah, haha, I really envy her. If only I had that kind of courage, if only I had said that in front of Huailian back then... boo hoo, Sakura..."

Oh no, her PTSD is acting up again.

No wonder Banai ended up deciding not to join the Food Research Departnt.

This really isn’t good for ntal health.

"Therefore, you absolutely can’t join a club with both boys and girls together!"

Saying this, Banai clenched her fist tightly.

"A student’s duty is to study! Boys and girls in a closed room together, all under the na of club activities—it’s absolutely unacceptable! Ah..."

As she spoke, Banai’s eyes once again beca vacant.

"Right, if I don’t go, Huailian and Sakura will just go sing karaoke together, the two of them, a boy and a girl, in a private room... hahaha, but it’s too late for to go now, and besides, even if I went, what could I do? They’re already dating, and I’m just Sakura’s childhood friend..."

"Uh... would you like a lollipop?"

"Yes!"

Banai snatched the lollipop Duanmu Huai offered and then bit down hard, as though she were biting soone’s brother.

"So we can’t join the Art Club either, right."

"That’s right, they look at us like we’re thieves! I don’t want to be a sneaky cat."

Actually, it was easy for Duanmu Huai and Banai to see if a club had relationship issues inside. The reason was simple. Banai was quite a famous beauty, and Duanmu Huai was a well-known actor. With two beautiful girls wanting to join, if any girl in the club was interested in a particular boy, they’d naturally treat it like a major threat.

Previously, the Art Club was like this. The male president was very welcoming of their joining, but one of the mbers looked quite unwilling. Seeing this, Duanmu Huai and Banai understood the situation and found an excuse to leave.

"Seems like finding a club is quite difficult."

Originally, they thought it would be simple to just pick a club to join since they didn’t have any special requirents.

But looking at it now, gosh, it was harder than expected.

"Are there more clubs around here?"

"Ah, it seems like there’s another one here."

Banai looked at the sign on the nearby door, tilting her head curiously.

"Classical Studies Club? What kind of club is that?"

"We’ll know once we take a look."

Duanmu Huai said as he walked to the door and knocked. Soon, a voice responded, "Co in."

"Sorry to bother you."

Duanmu Huai opened the door and walked in.

He then saw a girl quietly sitting at a table, holding a novel in her hands.

She had a head of smooth, beautiful black hair, reminiscent of a Dahe Fuzi, reaching down to her waist. The overall impression was that of a literary girl, only those big, round eyes blinking full of vitality.

"Eh? Chitanda? You’re here?"

Duanmu Huai didn’t know her, but Banai seed to.

"Are you friends?"

"Yeah, we’re classmates."

Seeing a familiar face, Banai breathed a sigh of relief and introduced Duanmu Huai with a cheeky smile.

"Let introduce you, this is Chitanda Ailu, my classmate. Chitanda, this is Duanmu Ai from the performing arts departnt; you should know her."

"Ah, indeed... I’ve heard a lot about you."

The girl stood up and respectfully bowed to Duanmu Huai.

"Hello, nice to et you. I’m Chitanda Ailu."

"Uh, oh, hello, I’m Duanmu Ai."

Duanmu Huai waved awkwardly in response. Honestly, such a formal attitude felt a bit overwhelming.

"Banai, why are you here?"

"Oh, we’re checking out club activities, looking for a club to join."

"Is that so?"

Upon hearing Banai’s answer, Chitanda Ailu clapped her hands in delight.

"Then would you two like to join the Classical Studies Club?"
