Duanmu Huai’s first fight was when he had just started elentary school.
He was already taller and bigger than most kids, looking nothing like a primary school student, and coupled with his fierce deanor, a few older kids wanted to teach him a lesson and called him to the back of the school.
The reason for picking on him was simple: Duanmu Huai was tall and big, and those older students wanted to establish their dominance, even intending to make him their junior follower.
Then Duanmu Huai beat them up.
There’s no need to be taught how to fight; just clench your fists and smash them into the opponent’s head, chest, and abdon.
Duanmu Huai fought five of them, fighting fiercely and without pause, until the school teachers stepped in to separate them.
When questioned by the teacher, those older students insistently claid they hadn’t done anything, and accused Duanmu Huai of provoking them. Duanmu Huai simply explained he was summoned by them and then they intended to rough him up.
Because those older students were not good kids either, the teacher decided to give them all equal punishnt and made them go ho to reflect.
At that ti, the way those students looked at Duanmu Huai was laughable, as if calling him "this stupid big guy".
The next day, Duanmu Huai beat them up again.
The feeling of hitting soone felt really good.
It’s like feeling your fist hitting their body, hearing their screams, like a pianist playing the piano, different keys making different sounds. Fair enough, you hit , I hit you. It’s either hit or be hit. No need to argue or debate, the one still standing at the end is the winner.
Simple, direct, needing no judgnt from others.
Then, just two days later, those older students called a few middle schoolers to block Duanmu Huai outside of school, leading to another fight.
This is the kids’ world, survival of the fittest. Rules don’t matter; only the rules of nature apply.
Appealing to teachers or parents is aningless; ultimately, you have to use your own fists to win.
After that, similar incidents repeatedly occurred. In middle school, high school, when Duanmu Huai moved up, there would always be older students wanting to prove themselves by defeating him. Duanmu Huai got used to it, he just needed to fight back, no need to think or say anything. Because saying is pointless, the law won’t protect you, teachers won’t, parents can’t help with school matters. Whether hitting or getting hit, it’s all the sa.

Duanmu Huai liked this rule, simple and direct.
But as he grew older, this rule stopped working.
Because an unbeatable enemy appeared.
The law.
Duanmu Huai grew up; he was not a child anymore. Injuring soone required compensation, even jail ti. Of course, if it was just that, it was no problem, but the issue was, the law wasn’t on his side.
Those cowardly, incompetent, fragile guys, relying on the law’s protection, brazenly provoked him, went after him.

But Duanmu Huai still fought back.
Winning ant jail, losing ant hospital.
But at least he won, right?
The law may protect you, but fists will protect .
So, Duanmu Huai’s jobs never lasted long, because, just like in school, there will always be petty individuals, trying to prove their strength by overcoming him. But while in school, fistfights would resolve issues, in society, it’s not that simple, they’ll pick on your work issues, find faults, and then give you a dressing-down, cursing you violently.
Finally, they’ll tell you, this is the real world, violence can’t solve problems, use your brain more.
Then Duanmu Huai would show them that while violence might not solve problems, it can certainly solve you.
Isn’t it just compensation? Just beat them up.
Those tender, delicate types don’t need much force before they’re yelling for their parents, acting like they’re dying.
After several rounds, even the police at the station got familiar with Duanmu Huai’s situation, recognizing how hard it was to handle. Eventually, an old cop heard about Duanmu Huai’s situation and advised him.
