"———————!"

The two had no idea what had happened.

They only rembered seeing each other reaching out, grabbing the hilt of the sword, and then... they lost consciousness.

When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves lying on the cold ground, while Duanmu Huai stood quietly at the sa spot, looking at them speechlessly.

"Really? This is it? Is this all you’ve got? I didn’t even exert any effort and you’re already down?"

"What... did you do?"

Zenin Mai stood up, pressing her forehead and vigilantly staring at Duanmu Huai, who just shook his head speechlessly.

"I didn’t do anything yet. I knew you were weak, but I didn’t expect you to be this weak. I’ve lost interest."

While he was speaking, Duanmu Huai reached into his pocket, took out a business card, and tossed it over.

"If you have any issues in the future, you can call this number. Stop with the petty tricks. If I catch you again, it won’t be this easy to let it go."

Instinctively, Zenin Mai caught the business card and looked up to say sothing, but by then, Duanmu Huai had vanished without a trace.

Truly disappointing.

Duanmu Huai returned to the hotel feeling very disappointed.

He initially wanted to see what these so-called Curse Masters were capable of, but they were just a bunch of Psychics. Of course, in terms of Psychics, they were at Lota Level, the kind that needed the Tribunal and the Star Language Hall to keep them in check. But in Duanmu Huai’s view, they were basically a bunch of weaklings.

Judging by this, the strongest among this so-called curse organization might just be Zeta Level Psychics... well, not very useful.

However, since they are operating in this world, it’s not a bad idea to take advantage of their system, just like Duanmu Huai had once cooperated with the Demon Slayer Team in the past.

As long as they know how to behave.

After that, those Curse Masters never stirred up trouble again, allowing Duanmu Huai to finish filming the rest of his scenes smoothly and return ho. Since he didn’t have many scenes, Duanmu Huai asked the director to finish his parts first—as an investor, he had that right.

Director Qingshui knew about Duanmu Huai’s lazy nature, so he went along with it, finished Duanmu Huai’s scenes, and let him leave.

Finishing before New Year was a good thing for Duanmu Huai.

As for the others’ lives or deaths—that wasn’t Duanmu Huai’s concern.

About a week after returning to school, Duanmu Huai received a call from an unknown number.

"Hello, is this Xiao Ai?"

The voice on the other end was that of a rather frivolous and laid-back man.

"This is Gojo Satoru from Tokyo Magic High School. If you don’t mind, could we et?"

So there’s one in Tokyo too... though it’s not surprising.

"No problem, just tell when."

Even if Duanmu Huai thought the curse organization was useless, there was still so ti before the movie aired, so he figured he might as well see what kind of fun they could offer him.

Soon, on Saturday morning, Duanmu Huai arrived at the location of the so-called Tokyo High School of Magic.

"This place is pretty nice, surrounded by mountains and water, deep in the forest, quite serene."

Standing at the entrance, Duanmu Huai couldn’t help but sigh as he looked at the mountainous scenery before him. Then he turned his head and glanced at the man standing in front of him. The latter looked to be in his twenties, with a head of white hair, wearing a black blindfold, looking not the least bit serious.

"Are you Gojo Satoru?"

"That’s right, I am Gojo Satoru. Welco to Tokyo High School of Magic."

The man nad Gojo Satoru made a comical welcoming gesture.

"Actually, I’m a fan of yours. If you don’t mind, could I ask for your autograph later?"

"Of course, no problem... so, what about now?"

"All in all, we should go et the principal first."

"et the principal? I’m not here to enroll."

Duanmu Huai had no interest in transferring schools.

"I know, but... the old folks upstairs seem to have so opinions about you. To put it simply, they’d like us to act as a conduit to facilitate communication between the two parties."

"I see, a ga of telephone, huh?"

Duanmu Huai could understand Gojo Satoru’s explanation. In the world of Curse Masters, soone like him showing up out of nowhere would typically be taken away for questioning. But given Duanmu Huai’s social status and reputation, he wasn’t soone they could just make disappear. Yet, the higher-ups in the curse organization couldn’t bring themselves to interact with him directly.

Since there was no prior relationship between the two, one wrong move and negotiations could collapse, and with Duanmu Huai’s strength and standing, he could easily cause chaos within the curse organization.

So the safest thod was to communicate through a third party.

This way, even if there’s a misunderstanding or conflict, they could just bla it on this go-between.

To put it bluntly, they were scapegoats.

As soone from the Tribunal, Duanmu Huai had seen this happen too many tis. After all, the Tribunal itself operated this way, and other factions that didn’t want to provoke the Tribunal would often use this thod to cooperate with it. If the Tribunal got upset, they’d just sell out the interdiary, claiming the other party deliberately misinterpreted or foolishly misunderstood their intentions......
