Sherry lowered her head in response to her mother’s reproach.
“Those things are everywhere, and…”
However, Sherry’s words were abruptly cut off by the woman.
“You should have called the police! We taught you that!”

“I did call, but no one ca. And you weren’t answering your phone, so…”
“Sherry, I don’t have ti for this!”
“Hey, old woman!”

However, there was no response from the other side, not knowing if she was angered by Duanmu Huai or had already run away.

Duanmu Huai snorted and turned to the others. At this mont, Sherry had her head down, remaining silent, while Claire was standing beside her, softly comforting her.
“Sherry, don’t be sad, I think your mother is also worried about you…”
“Boom!!”
But just at this mont, all of a sudden, the entire room violently shook. Everyone looked up to see the ceiling directly smashed, following which, a large claw erged from the rubble. Then, a twisted, mutated figure leaped down from above, appearing in front of the three people.
“Oh, my God…”
Staring at the monster before her, Claire was stunned, while Duanmu Huai rely raised an eyebrow. This monster was none other than the mutant creature that Duanmu Huai had previously defeated. However, at this mont, this mutant seed to have further evolved. The right hand that Duanmu Huai had once ripped off had regrown, and even had a sharp barb on its palm. Its body was also much larger —— but of course, it still didn’t compare to Duanmu Huai.
“Leave this to , you two get to safety.”
Duanmu Huai clenched his fist, staring at the monster in front of him and stretching his neck.
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Of course, this guy is no match for .”
“Then…it’s up to you.”
Although Claire was a bit worried, she trusted Duanmu Huai. After all, he had killed a Tyrant before, his fighting prowess was evident to all. Thus, Claire hurriedly took Sherry and ran towards the gate at the back.
“Roar——!!”
Seeing the two of them leave, the monster roared and attempted to rush after them. However, once again, Duanmu Huai stood in its way.
“Hey, ready to die?”
In the face of Duanmu Huai’s words, the only response from the monster was its roar and claws.
anwhile, in the control room, a woman in a white lab-coat was staring at the screen in disbelief.
“This…how’s that possible?”
This woman was none other than Sherry’s mother, Yani, who also knew the true identity of the monster — that monster was, in fact, her husband, Sherry’s father, Williams.
Williams had developed the G-virus, but upon receiving the news, the Umbrella Corporation attempted to take the G-virus. In the ensuing chaos, they killed Williams. Unwilling to just die, he injected the G-virus into himself. As a result, he mutated and beca a terrifying monster.
Being a researcher herself, Yani was well aware of how terrifying a creature mutated by the G-virus could be. However…the scene unfolding before her eyes left her speechless.
“This must be a joke…”
On the screen, Yani watched as her husband, transford into a monster, roared and pounced towards the tall man, stretching out his claw. Based on Yani’s experience, this man would not stand a chance against the mutant, no matter how strong his muscles were. He’d be ripped apart by the mutant’s claws.
But then, sothing happened that Yani could not anticipate.
In the face of the mutant’s attack, Duanmu Huai didn’t dodge at all. He stepped forward, grabbed the monster’s wrist, and with a roar, lifted the mutant straight off the ground and threw it!
“Boom!!”
The mutant slamd heavily into the wall, causing the surveillance monitor screen to tremble. Before the mutant could even get up, Duanmu Huai leaped forward, swung his foot down hard, and promptly broke the claw on the mutant’s right hand. He then started pumling the beast with his fists.
“………..”
Am I dreaming?
Looking at what was happening on the screen, Yani was dumbfounded, only wondering if she was dreaming. What kind of a joke was this? A mutant was getting beat up by a man and could only howl pitifully in the corner?
Are you kidding ?
Although she initially struggled to accept the reality before her, Yani quickly ca to her senses. She imdiately turned on the microphone and shouted.
“Hit its head, destroy its head. That’s the only way to kill it completely!”
Perhaps hearing Yani’s voice, Duanmu Huai clenched his fist, raised it high and, with a roar of rage, struck down hard on the mutant’s grotesque head.
“Splurt!!”
The comparatively small human head on the massive body was smashed like a walnut by Duanmu Huai’s punch. The mutant’s large body lurched for a mont, then slumped to the ground, motionless.
“…sigh.”
Upon seeing this, Yani let out a long sigh, collapsed onto her chair, and gazed at the corpse with a complex expression. Though it was a monster now, it was still her husband…Yani shook her head, putting her inner thoughts aside and once again turned on the microphone.
“You…you did well. Co, take the cable car to the research facility, and we’ll talk face to face.”
After this, Yani guided the three of them to a cable car and sent them on their way to the Umbrella Research Facility, all while she herself returned to her lab, ready to resu her work.
However, Yani did not notice as she left, that in the screen behind her, the body of the mutant, whose head had been blown up dead by Duanmu Huai, began to squirm and mutate once again. Then, another head sharply erged from the remains of the shattered one, giving a muffled groan and with great difficulty, it scurried off into the darkness…
