Chapter 413: Chapter 316 The Commission from the Wandering rchant_2 Chapter 413: Chapter 316 The Commission from the Wandering rchant_2 Of course, that’s assuming… the vagabond trader hasn’t been lying to .
Dadanier acted quickly, Mia wasn’t slow either. Soon enough, Duanmu Huai received a report from the frontline reconnaissance fleet. After reading it, Duanmu Huai stood up.
“Mia, call everyone to the Tactical Control Room for a eting.”
“Yes~~~”
Soon, everyone arrived at the Tactical Control Room, Duanmu Huai sat in his chair, watching them.
“Everyone, I have so very important news to share. Dadanier has just requested help from the Tribunal…”
He first explained to the girls the current situation on the Human civilization’s planet, even releasing footage taken by the Reconnaissance Fleet. The footage clearly showed the entire surface of the planet engulfed in grey tones, with barely a trace of green anywhere. Below the booming high-rises, countless people moved to and fro like ants, their faces pale and most wore masks.
“How pitiful…”
Upon hearing Duanmu Huai explain that the planet’s high population density has led to reduced air quality, to the point where it was difficult to breathe fresh air, the girls were amazed. This was their first ti witnessing the other face of civilization developnt – the dark side full of flaws.
In the past, although the girls had visited developed planets, those planets were either destroyed by Demons or attacked by Beast Races, leaving only ruins behind, therefore, they couldn’t be used as functioning examples.
“Uh…I’ve read about environntal pollution in books…I just didn’t expect it to be this serious…”
Seeing all this, Ann frowned, deeply concerned.
“But, Dadanier and his troop have found a solution. They can access a mineral from a planet called Pandora to drastically improve the living conditions of the Humans on that densely populated planet. Perhaps, through further altering the environnt of the planet they could also colonize it in the future. However, there’s one little problem.”
“A problem?”
In response to the girls’ puzzled question, Duanmu Huai pressed a button. Then, the girls saw a group of tall humanoid creatures with tails and blue skin, ruralizing in the lush jungles of the green Pandora Planet. They rode strange and terrific beasts, going sowhere to hunt and live.
“These are the original species of this planet, known as the Nakians. The area where Dadanier is mining the mineral is their sacred ground, so they are unwilling to let the Humans excavate it and they have attacked the mine multiple tis. Therefore, Dadanier has approached us to help resolve this issue.”
“Resolve this issue?”
Ann murmured a repetition of this, then her face changed dramatically.
“Wait a minute, Sir Knight, are you saying…”
“That’s right, Dadanier hopes that the Tribunal will completely eradicate the Nakians to secure their mining and colonizing benefits on this planet.”
“This is not acceptable!”
Upon hearing this, Lorena couldn’t help but stand up.
“Isn’t this invasion?”
“Indeed, it is an invasion.”
Duanmu Huai nodded.
“So, what is your opinion?”
“This is absolutely unacceptable…”
“Yes, how can we do such a thing?”
Soon, the girls offered their opinions, none of them willing to engage in such an act. Then, Ann looked back at Duanmu Huai.
“Sir Knight, you’re not suggesting… that the Tribunal plans on doing this, are you?”
“Yes, we do have such plans, as it does not contradict the duties of the Tribunal.”
“What?!”
Upon hearing this, everyone was shocked. In their mories, the Tribunal had always been a just organization that saved Humanity, but…
“Indeed, I understand your sentints.”
Duanmu Huai pointed at the Nakians gallivanting freely in the jungle on the screen.
“They have lived on this planet for generations, not bothering anyone, but now soone suddenly wants to drive them from their hos. It’s definitely pitiful and unfair, right?”
“Yes…”
“Well said.”
Having observed the girls’ expressions, Duanmu Huai nodded. Then, he abruptly switched to another screen.
“So, what do you think should be done about these Humans?”
“…”
Staring at the Humans living in pain among the reinforced iron skeletons of the jungle, the girls… were left speechless for a while.
“But… but…”
Lorena quietly opened her mouth after a long silence.
“Isn’t there a better solution that satisfies both sides?”
“No, in fact, all life in this world prospers by feeding off other life.”
Duanmu Huai shook his head.
“You think it’s evil and excessive. But sadly, it’s not exclusive to Humans. Take a wolf pack, for example. When a pack expands too large, it splits into two, fighting for territory. The winning pack stays, the losing one moves elsewhere to hunt — for the animals living peacefully in those other places, aren’t these displaced or migrating wolves also an unwarranted calamity?”
