Xiaosuisui tilted her head in thought upon hearing this, then said, "I should be able to, as long as the scent hasn’t disappeared, I can sll it."
After Xiaosuisui finished speaking, Ji Youzhi picked her up and turned to leave.
"Seventh Uncle, where are we going?"
"To the silk shop by West Forest Lake!"
Upon hearing his answer, Xie Pan’er could no longer concentrate on her practice with the Hidden Weapon. She quickly jumped up and said, "I’m coming too!"
Ji Youzhi carried Xiaosuisui as Xie Pan’er followed behind. Yunxiang swiftly grabbed so essential items for the outing, and Yun Duo went to find the Steward to get a horse carriage ready.
The group set out in a grand procession.
The carriage quickly arrived at the silk shop by West Forest Lake. It had already been sealed off, with two Governnt Officials stationed at the door.
"Who goes there? This place has been sealed! Unauthorized persons must leave imdiately!"
One of the Governnt Soldiers shouted when he saw the carriage stop in front of the silk shop, rushing forward to order them away.
Ji Youzhi lifted the carriage curtain and flashed the Emperor’s Gold dal in front of the Governnt Soldier. The Governnt Soldier’s expression changed instantly, and he quickly cupped his fist, saying,
"So it’s the Lord God Hunter! Greetings, Divine Hunter Ji!"
"Mm! Open the door. We need to inspect the premises."
The Governnt Soldier hurriedly answered, "Yes, sir!"
He promptly opened the door and made a gesture for them to enter.
Ji Youzhi walked in carrying Xiaosuisui.
Xie Pan’er followed closely, while Yunxiang and Yun Duo waited outside.
This shop was quite large, with interconnected upper and lower floors. The ground floor sold bolts of fabric and inexpensive ready-made garnts. The upper floor offered won’s finished clothing and, of course, so uniquely patterned fabrics favored by courtesans from the Brothels.
Ji Youzhi, holding Xiaosuisui, glanced around. The shop was clean and tidy, with nothing appearing out of the ordinary.
Xiaosuisui sniffed the air and pointed to where fabrics were stacked.
"Over there has the sa sll as on Brother Xie Si and Princess Ata."
Hearing this, Ji Youzhi carried Xiaosuisui over. A bolt of fabric, seemingly as thin as a cicada’s wing and printed with a red butterfly pattern, lay on the ground. It had been unrolled but not tidied up, resting quietly there.
Ji Youzhi picked up the bolt of fabric and sniffed it. Instantly, dizziness washed over him, accompanied by an overwhelming sense of irritation!
"Seventh Uncle, what’s wrong?"
An image flashed through his mind: the mont he received the letter from ho stating Xiaosuisui had been buried alive and was barely breathing. At that ti, he had been consud by an imnse anger, a power surging in his hands, desperate for release. The fury in his heart had been palpable.
"Seventh Uncle! Seventh Uncle! What’s wrong with you?"
Sensing Ji Youzhi’s distress, Xiaosuisui imdiately called out to him, reaching out to rub his temples.
"Seventh Uncle! Wake up! Seventh Uncle! Seventh Uncle..."
Finally, Ji Youzhi exhaled sharply, tossed the fabric aside, and retreated several steps. "So that’s what it was!"
"What’s ’so that’s what it was’?"
The question ca simultaneously from Xie Pan’er and Xiaosuisui.
Ji Youzhi pointed to the bolt of fabric on the ground. "This fabric is problematic."
Xie Pan’er’s expression changed. "If there’s a problem with the fabric in the shop, it ans the shopkeeper, embroiderers, and assistants who work here could all be involved."
Ji Youzhi nodded. Xie Pan’er and Xie Si truly are siblings; they’re both equally sharp!
"n!"
The two Governnt Soldiers guarding outside imdiately entered.
"Sir!"
"Secure this bolt of fabric and preserve it carefully. Also, notify the Prefect of Shuntian Prefecture. Tell him to dispatch n to arrest the embroiderers, assistants, and the shopkeeper from the Xie Establishnt Silk Emporium. Bring them to the Governnt Office for imdiate interrogation."
