Now reading: Chapter 500: Bald monk, don’t you dare dream of making my Su from A Cutie Spoiled by Her Seven Uncles, a Historical novel by Zelin Ren.

"Amitabha. This benefactor must be joking. My Disciple is inside the house. As for you, you could hardly pass as a regular monk, let alone be my direct Disciple!"

Ah, this... Ji Youcheng felt thoroughly insulted!

"Baldy! If you dare think of making my Suisui a monk, then forget it! Be wise, abandon such thoughts, and leave imdiately!"

Inside the house, Huo Xing’Er’s fierce voice suddenly rang out, causing Zhu Xiuxiu and Ji Youcheng’s expressions to change.

"Suisui! The disciple you want to take is Suisui?" Both husband and wife’s eyes blazed with anger!

"Amitabha! The Disciple I wish to accept is the child who has comprehended the mysteries of Heaven and Earth, summoning all creation yet lacking control over himself!"

"Nonsense! How could a re child comprehend the mysteries of Heaven and Earth? Old baldy, don’t spout nonsense here! If you leave now, out of consideration for the Western Regions’ Buddhism, I will not make things difficult for the monks of Central Plains Buddhism. If you refuse to listen and continue to pester us, then don’t bla for being impolite!"

Inside the house, Huo Xing’Er’s words were already laced with anger. She anxiously wondered why Ji Youzhi hadn’t arrived yet.

However, Liao Kong outside had already made his move. He lifted his foot to step forward, but Zhu Xiuxiu and Ji Youcheng suddenly flashed before him, their hands outstretched. The couple spoke in unison, "Master, please return!"

The old monk waved his sleeve, sending them both flying back thirty feet!

Zhu Xiuxiu whispered, "So strong!" Ji Youcheng’s face was filled with horror. That was just a flick of his sleeve!

Inside the house, Xiaosuisui trembled in Huo Xing’Er’s arms. She couldn’t understand the back-and-forth conversation between her Second Aunt and the old monk, but she could roughly guess that the old monk’s talk of accepting a disciple might refer to her.

"Second Aunt! Is that old monk a bad person?" Xiaosuisui asked Huo Xing’Er quietly.

Huo Xing’Er opened her mouth and gently shook her head. "People of the Buddhist faith cultivate rit and study the Buddhist Dharma; they rarely take a life. He is not a bad person!"

Xiaosuisui pouted. "Since he’s a good person and wants to take as his Disciple, why don’t you agree?"

Huo Xing’Er furrowed her brows at this and couldn’t help but ask, "Do you want to beco his Disciple?"

Xiaosuisui didn’t speak, as she had already seen the white-bearded old monk at the doorway. Tilting her head, she curiously observed him. He has a kind face; he’s truly not a bad person!

The old monk put his hands together. "Amitabha! My Disciple, your Master has co to receive you!"

Upon hearing this, Xiaosuisui looked at Huo Xing’Er, only to see her raise a hand. More than ten yellow Talismans floated out, directly blocking the doorway.

"So, a master of the Daoist Sect is present. May I ask under which Daoist Master the benefactor is a high disciple?"

Huo Xing’Er did not answer, rely looking at the old monk with a solemn expression.

"Master, accepting a disciple cannot be forced. This child may have an affinity with you, but it is not the affinity of Master and Disciple. I urge you to be rational."

The old monk still had his hands clasped together, but his gaze was fixed on Xiaosuisui.

"Child, are you willing to cultivate Buddhism with ?"

Hearing this, Xiaosuisui asked, "What is cultivating Buddhism?"

"To comprehend the Buddhist Dharma, attain supre rit, guide others to enlightennt, and perceive the secrets of Heaven!"

As soon as he said this, Huo Xing’Er imdiately retorted.

"What’s so good about cultivating Buddhism? It’s all abstruse scriptures, with books as thick as bricks. What can rit do? It can’t make one live forever. Guide others to enlightennt? My Suisui is only four and a half. She feels even playti is too short; how would she have the ti to ddle in such affairs? Perceive the secrets of Heaven? This is a core tenet of our Daoist Sect! What does it have to do with your Buddhism?"

Whether the Daoist Sect first proposed perceiving the secrets of Heaven, or Buddhism first made it prevalent, the Daoist and Buddhist sects have argued for millennia without resolution!

Zhu Xiuxiu and Ji Youcheng were both stunned. Was this their reticent and honest Second Sister-in-law? The Second Sister-in-law whom Second Brother disliked, causing her to flee on their wedding night?
