Ji Youyuan was making a threat, a threat predicated on Suisui becoming his disciple.
This move of his confused both Huo Xing’Er and Zhu Xiuxiu.
The two sisters-in-law looked at each other, then together looked at Ji Youyuan.
"Eldest Brother, have you gone mad? How can you let Suisui beco his disciple?" Zhu Xiuxiu and Huo Xing’Er raised their voices in unison, questioning Ji Youyuan loudly.
"Don’t rush. You and Master Liao Kong haven’t heard my terms yet!"
Ji Youyuan checked the ti; more than half of the two-hour limit had passed. He needed to think of a way to bring Suisui back, or his second brother would indeed not survive.
Master Liao Kong also understood the special status of the Eldest Princess now. He was sure that the Sect Leader Ji before him understood it as well. He might as well listen to his terms.
"Amitabha. Sect Leader Ji, I wonder what the two conditions you ntioned are?" Master Liao Kong took the initiative to ask about the conditions.
Ji Youyuan couldn’t help but smile at this, his lips curving upwards. "If you want to take my Suisui as a disciple, first you have to provide her the Buddhist Telepathy Heart thod and the Silent Zen Heart thod for her practice. Are you able to produce these two Heart thods now, Master?"
These two Heart thods were supre techniques of Buddhism; they could only be learned by those with exceptional talent in the Buddhist Dharma. Others would not be able to learn them at all.
"That’s not a problem," Master Liao Kong replied. "My prospective disciple has the aptitude for this. These two Heart thods are indeed suited for her."
Upon hearing these words, Ji Youyuan simply nodded and, without further comnt, stated his second condition.
"The second condition is that she must co ho with tonight. Tomorrow morning, after you have held the final prayer eting for Yunhang’s disaster victims, Suisui will kowtow to you and serve you tea in front of Qixia Temple’s Mingwu Building, formally becoming your disciple. If the discipleship is successful, you can imdiately shave her head and let her beco a nun. From then on, she will be a disciple of your Buddhist sect, and we, the Ji Family, will not interfere with her cultivation. I can also help diate with the imperial family. What do you think, Master?"
"Eldest Brother, you mustn’t!" Huo Xing’Er and Zhu Xiuxiu were extrely anxious and cried out to Ji Youyuan.
Ji Youyuan waved his hand at them dismissively, offering no explanation. Instead, he stretched out his hands towards Monk Liao Kong, who was holding Xiaosuisui, and said to the child, "Your Second Uncle is still waiting for you to save his life!"
Upon hearing this, Xiaosuisui said, "Oh," then kicked her little legs while in Master Liao Kong’s arms. Master Liao Kong quickly understood and gently set Xiaosuisui down. He looked at Ji Youyuan and intoned, "Amitabha."
"Amitabha! Sect Leader Ji, your word is your bond. I shall humbly await tomorrow!" With that, he vanished on the spot.
Xiaosuisui imdiately ran into Ji Youyuan’s arms, hugged his thigh tightly, and sweetly called out, "Eldest Uncle!"
Then she tilted up her cherubic face, pouted her lips, and said aggrievedly, "Eldest Uncle! It’s a good thing you ca, or I might never have seen you again in this life!"
Ji Youyuan bent down, scooped her up into his arms, and gently pinched her little nose. "So, you knew to be scared?"
Xiaosuisui pouted. "At first, I was really scared, yes! But then Third Auntie ca, and I knew she would definitely tell Eldest Uncle and Second Auntie to co and save !"
Ji Youyuan indulgently pinched her nose again. "You little sly thing!"
Princess Ata, seeing that the matter was resolved, finally erged from her hiding place, patting her chest in relief.
Good thing a fight didn’t break out. She didn’t know if she would have survived that. With this thought, she beca baffled again. Why didn’t the old monk fight with the Ji Family? This is unfair! Just now on Main Street, she and the Eldest Princess had been in a tense confrontation with that monk for a long ti!
"Let’s go! Thanks for your help today," Zhu Xiuxiu said to Princess Ata. This ti, Zhu Xiuxiu didn’t fly with Princess Ata; instead, she walked back slowly with her.
With Ji Youyuan present, even Zhu Xiuxiu, who possessed the best lightness skills in the Ji Family, had to step aside. There was no helping it; he was a Grand Master, while she was just an insignificant shrimp!
"The Eldest Princess saved once," Princess Ata said with a grin, genuinely happy that her benefactor was safe.
"Are you free tomorrow?" Zhu Xiuxiu suddenly asked her.
Princess Ata nodded. "Yes! His Majesty, the Emperor of Great Han, promised that as long as I don’t do anything to harm the Eldest Princess, he will allow to follow her at all tis."
"That’s good. Get up early tomorrow, and let’s go watch a show at Qixia Temple."
Initially, Zhu Xiuxiu had been quite unsure of Ji Youyuan’s intentions, but after hearing him deliberately ntion the kowtowing and tea ceremony, she understood his sche.
"Qixia Temple? Tomorrow morning?" Princess Ata was still confused and wanted to ask Zhu Xiuxiu what show they were going to watch, but Zhu Xiuxiu was walking too quickly for her to keep up.
By the ti Ji Youyuan, carrying Xiaosuisui, returned to the Ji Mansion, less than half an hour remained of Ji Youran’s two-hour limit.
"Oh, you’re finally back! My sweet girl, are you all right?" Seeing them return, Old Lady Ji finally felt the knot of worry in her heart loosen.
"I’m all right, Grandmother!"
Old Lady Ji reached out and took Xiaosuisui from Ji Youyuan’s arms. She looked her up and down, then gently touched her little head. "Did that old monk, Liao Kong, do anything to you? Let Grandmother take a look!"
Xiaosuisui quickly shook her head, but before she could speak, Huo Xing’Er interjected, "You should be asking if *she* did anything to that old bald monk, Liao Kong!"
Thinking about the sll on the path outside the west city gate, Huo Xing’Er was sure the little girl had done it on purpose; there was no need to even think twice about it.
"Ah! That old bald monk, Liao Kong, he’s the foremost figure in Central Plains Buddhism! What could our Suisui possibly do to him? It’s a blessing if he doesn’t bully our precious girl." Old Lady Ji felt that her adorable granddaughter couldn’t possibly have done anything to old Monk Liao Kong. She had been constantly worrying about her precious girl ever since receiving the news.
"That old bald monk Liao Kong can’t bully , Grandmother, so don’t you worry!" Xiaosuisui reassured her grandmother, her face beaming with an incredibly sweet smile.
"That’s good, as long as you’re all right! Now Grandmother can rest assured."
"You certainly should rest assured. She’s no ordinary child. There are plenty of children who still wet their pants at four and a half. Liao Kong carried you all that way, and you didn’t think to disgust him a little?" Huo Xing’Er said bluntly, not sparing Xiaosuisui’s feelings. She gave the girl a pointed look, instructing her that as a child, she should use a child’s inherent advantages. If you can’t beat them to death, you should disgust them to death!
Xiaosuisui looked at her Second Aunt’s expression and, with a very guilty conscience, turned her head away. "I... I couldn’t hold it in. I clearly told him I needed to pee, but he wouldn’t put down. I couldn’t hold it, so I peed on him."
The Ji Family mbers were rendered speechless...
Ji Youyuan touched his forehead helplessly. Was it really good to be teaching a child this way? How had the little girl changed so much in just a few months of not seeing her? She was livelier, more talkative, and even a little cunning...
