Except for Xiaosuisui, everyone else’s eyes widened further in disbelief!
"What kind of bird is this? Why are there flas on it!" Yun Kuo muttered in awe.
Ji Youzhi, who had fallen and could barely crawl, yet was still forcing himself toward Xiaosuisui, answered him, "It’s a Phoenix!"
"A Phoenix? Judging by its appearance, it seems to be a great demon with cultivation, right? Is it friend or foe to us?" Yun Kuo was extrely worried. We can barely handle the Black Mist, and now a Phoenix is added to the mix. Are we destined to die?
While Yun Kuo was lost in thought, the Black Mist spoke.
"A Phoenix fledgling undergoing nirvana and advancent! Excellent, this is another mount I can form a contract with.
"Today is indeed my lucky day; I can have both the dragon and phoenix under my control!
"Baby, your great fortune is truly heaven-defying. What a pity, you are destined to be my stumbling block.
"Otherwise, I would have chosen you as my successor, letting all that astronomical fortune be used by !"
Mr. Wu was ecstatic at this mont, while Xiaosuisui retorted directly.
"You’re quite contradictory. Just monts ago, you said that by killing , you could seize my fortune for your use. Yet now you say that by keeping alive, all my fortune could be used by you. Tell , do you want to live, or do you want to die?"
"Hmph! You’re quite a sharp-tongued baby. Since you’re so eager to know, I simply won’t tell you."
Xiaosuisui felt the force constricting her throat had loosened considerably. She suspected this was because the great Phoenix and the Cyan Dragon were watching the Black Mist intently from above and below, making it hesitant to use all its Witch Power to strangle her.
"Great Wizard, if you kill today, it will undoubtedly require imnse effort. In that case, you won’t be able to contract the Cyan Dragon and the Phoenix. But if you don’t kill , the Cyan Dragon and the Phoenix are mine! Great Wizard, why don’t you think of a solution that benefits us both?"
As soon as Xiaosuisui finished speaking, the Black Mist’s grip on her throat eased slightly.
"Speak your mind! Today, I want both your life and that Phoenix and Cyan Dragon!"
Upon hearing this, a slight smirk touched the corners of Xiaosuisui’s lips. She blinked, looking at the great Phoenix in the sky, and then a purple light glowed in her eyes.
The light shot straight up into the sky. Seeing this purple light, the Black Mist instinctively sensed trouble. The force constricting Xiaosuisui’s throat suddenly doubled, but it was too late. He heard the little child in his grasp shout loudly.
"The barrier on Wangwu Mountain—break now!"
As her voice fell, the purple light in her eyes imdiately vanished.
At the sa ti, the barrier Mr. Wu had previously set up vanished completely.
The Cyan Dragon quickly pulled Ji Youzhi and Yun Kuo onto its back. Just as it was about to snatch its Master from the Black Mist’s grasp, a piercing cry ca from above.
The Cyan Dragon let out a sharp cry, then carrying Ji Youzhi and Yun Kuo, it fled.
Ji Youzhi and Yun Kuo couldn’t help but cry out, "Xiaosuisui! Save Xiaosuisui!"
However, the rapidly retreating Cyan Dragon unexpectedly spoke.
"Master will be fine. The Great Phoenix will save her. If we had remained there, you two would have undoubtedly died!"
"Ah! Why would we have undoubtedly died?"
Yun Kuo’s and Ji Youzhi’s hearts suddenly clenched with pain, wounded again by Xiaoqing’s blunt words.
"Because you are re mortals, you would inevitably be incinerated by the Phoenix Fire!"
Xiaoqing’s emotionless words reached Ji Youzhi’s and Yun Kuo’s ears. They couldn’t help but turn to look back. Wangwu Mountain behind them was already a sea of fire!

The Cyan Dragon rolled its eyes. It’s one thing for Master to call Xiaoqing, but why is this human calling Xiaoqing too?
"Master will definitely be fine. She and I have a contract.
"Previously, when she was being choked by the Black Mist, she communicated with through our consciousness. She said she could sense the Great Phoenix was about to arrive and told to watch for the right mont. As soon as she found a way to break the barrier set by the Black Mist, I was to take you two away imdiately.
"She had already arranged with the Great Phoenix that its Phoenix Fire would directly incinerate that Mr. Wu!"
Hearing the Cyan Dragon’s words, Ji Youzhi and Yun Kuo were both dumbstruck, utter disbelief written across their faces!
"Xiaosuisui is so incredibly clever!" Yun Kuo couldn’t help but exclaim.
Ji Youzhi, however, felt sothing wasn’t quite right. It was true that his Xiaosuisui was getting smarter and smarter, but he still found it hard to believe she could devise such a flawless plan in the heat of battle.
In reality, this plan wasn’t thought up by Xiaosuisui herself. It was a counterasure she and Ah Ling from the Soul-Calling Bell had discussed.
Initially, Ah Ling had wanted Xiaosuisui to use the Soul-Calling Bell to directly trap Mr. Wu, then find a way to break the formation and escape from here.
But then Xiaosuisui told Ah Ling that she could sense the Great Phoenix was about to arrive.
She also ntioned that she didn’t want to remain ignorant of the true situation on Wangwu Mountain; she wanted to find out what had happened to the residents from both shores of the Cloud Sea after they were captured and brought here.
So, Ah Ling and she devised this counterasure together.
At this mont, Xiaosuisui was lying prone on the Great Phoenix’s back, watching the Phoenix Fire reduce Mr. Wu to ashes. She voiced her concern,
"Great Phoenix, will your Phoenix Fire burn down all of Wangwu Mountain?"
The Great Phoenix, carrying Xiaosuisui, let out a resonant cry, communicating to her via consciousness:
"’Once Phoenix Fire is unleashed, it will not be extinguished until everything is burned to cinders. Not even a downpour from the heavens can put it out.’"
"’Ah!’ Xiaosuisui exclaid worriedly. ’Then, won’t your Phoenix Fire really burn all of Wangwu Mountain to the ground?’"
