Velia seed to sense his unease. She tilted her head slightly, her smile softening.
"You have done well to make it this far, lad. Few have reached this place, and even fewer have stood where you are now.
Not to ntion, you broke all the previous records set by the original disciples. Tell —how does it feel to carry the mantle of a core disciple of the Holy Land Torel?"
"I…" Aksai clenched his fists, his mind flashing back to the trials and battles he had endured to reach this point.
"I am humbled by the sheer number of geniuses this place must have had during its peak. As for breaking those records, I don't think much about it. Not because I underestimate myself or am pretending to be humble, but because the tests I managed to pass happened to align with the advantages I have over other Spirit cultivators."
Velia's smile widened, her golden eyes shimring with approval.
"Good. That is the correct attitude. The treasures of Torel are not rely gifts; they are tools, ant to prepare you for the challenges that lie ahead. And as for coincidences… there is no such thing. At least, not in your case."
Aksai's brows furrowed. "What… what do you an?"
Velia glanced at her younger sister, her expression curious. "You didn't tell him?" she asked.
Yelia shook her head, her voice calm but firm. "I was waiting for the right ti."
Velia nodded in understanding before turning back to Aksai. "The thing is, lad—the Enchanted Everwood Farm you possess once belonged to Al Everwood. He obtained it after becoming the core disciple of the sect master. Al Everwood is the sa disciple whose test scores you surpassed in the last three stages."
Unlike what Velia was expecting him to be, Aksai wasn't shocked by her revelation. In fact, he nodded as though he had already pieced it together. What Velia said rely confird his suspicions.
She scrunched her nose in annoyance when Aksai didn't give her a shocked expression. 'It seems the apple doesn't fall from the tree… that brat Al was also like this guy,' she said to herself and sighed.
As if he had heard what Velia had just thought of…
"Al Everwood… is he one of my ancestors?" Aksai asked after a mont of thought.
"That's right," Velia confird with a nod. At this point, she gave up on dazzling the smart brat with her revelations and spoke in a serious tone.
"In the past, many druid clans were associated with the Holy Land Torel. The Everwood clan was one of the most prominent among them.
Al Everwood was the most talented disciple of the sect in his generation. He was monstrously gifted, and the sect did everything in its power to nurture him."
"So, the Enchanted Everwood Farm was sothing like a spirit artifact reward?" Aksai asked, already knowing the answer in his heart.
"Yes and no," Yelia replied this ti.
"The Enchanted Everwood Farm is a special kind of reward. It couldn't be given to just any disciple of the Holy Land Torel. My lord—no, my previous master—Al Everwood was the direct disciple of the Holy Land Torel's sect master himself, with access to nearly every resource the sect could produce.
The Enchanted Everwood Farm that you now possess was created by the sect master before his ascension to the Immortal Realm. Initially, the farm was trapped inside a form of a glass sphere, like a snow globe. It was gifted to Al Everwood in recognition of his nurous achievents in the sect."
"Then how did the Myriad Worlds Painting rge with it? Was the Myriad Worlds Painting also a reward that my ancestor Al Everwood received from the Holy Land Torel?" Aksai asked, his gaze shifting between Yelia and Velia.
Since Velia already seed aware of the Enchanted Everwood Farm's existence, Aksai saw no reason to hide the Myriad Worlds Painting from her. He had co to trust that Velia bore him no malice. If that were the case, it was better to get to the bottom of things now.
"No," Velia said, shaking her head.
"To be honest, we of the Holy Land Torel don't know much about the Myriad Worlds Painting. We are only aware of its existence because of descriptions provided by Al Everwood himself.
He told us that the painting suddenly appeared inside the Enchanted Everwood Farm while he was cultivating and raising resources. He suspected that the Myriad Worlds Painting was sent to him by his master—the sect master of the Holy Land Torel—who had already ascended to the Immortal Realm at that ti.
We don't know how the sect master managed to send such an artifact to his disciple or how it works. We don't even know how he managed to get his hands on such a logic-defying artifact in the first place.
All we know is that it supposedly allows its owner to travel anywhere in the boundless cosmos without restriction. You could say the Myriad Worlds Painting is more significant than the Holy Land Torel itself because it originates from the Immortal Realm."
"Immortal Realm…" Aksai murmured, his voice trailing off as his mind flooded with questions. He stared blankly ahead, his thoughts whirling at the implications of such an artifact.
After a few monts, Yelia broke the silence.
"I was chosen as the artifact spirit of the Enchanted Everwood Farm by my creator—the sect master of the Holy Land Torel. Al Everwood was my previous master. Because I share the sa origins as the guardian spirit of the Holy Land Torel, Velia and I are regarded as sisters by the sect master and the sect elders."
Velia added, her tone calm.
"Al Everwood explained that the Myriad Worlds Painting and the Enchanted Everwood Farm were fused into a single artifact under the influence of the sect master.
That brat Al believed the sect master did this to conceal the presence of the Myriad Worlds Painting from prying eyes in the Immortal Realm.
Because of this fusion, Al Everwood was able to use the painting's abilities to so extent, though it remained a mystery to even him. Anyway, he used the sect master's gift his own way. He also made so modifications to the artifact later on."
