Chapter 528: “Warrior’s Pride? What Is That? Can You Eat It?” P1

The second sect elder stumbled back as soon as he sensed Aksai approaching him.

“S-Stay back!” he shouted, but his legs gave out and he fell on his backside.

Aksai didn’t listen. He didn’t have to.

With a burst of speed, he closed the distance between them in a blink. The elder barely had ti to raise his hand before Aksai struck.

A single punch to the stomach shattered the elder’s spirit robe and snapped his ribs like twigs. Before the elder could even scream, Aksai’s hand sank into his chest. Bone cracked. Flesh tore.

Then ca the sound—the horrible, wet squelch—as Aksai’s fingers wrapped around sothing soft and pulsing. He ripped it out once again.

Blood sprayed in all directions. The second elder’s mouth opened in a silent scream, his eyes wide in horror as his body went limp and collapsed.

Aksai looked at the heart, gave it a small nod as if inspecting it for quality, and let it fall. A vine popped out of the ground and received it as gently as a mother hugging her child.

The third elder tried to run. His leg dragged behind him—injured from the earlier battle. He knew he wouldn’t get far, but instinct still drove him.

Aksai moved. There was no flash. No glow. Just Qi-based movent—fast, clean, and deadly.

After breaking into the late-stage Argent Body Realm, his body had been strengthened to a whole new level.

Instead of using a movent-type Spirit spell, it was actually faster to rely on his pure physical prowess, empowered by Qi essence to tap into raw agility. This was especially true in this case, where the movents of both the elders and Aksai were restricted by the wood-elent barrier.

He appeared behind the third elder like a shadow ca to life. One hand grabbed the man’s shoulder, yanking him back. The other punched straight through his spine and chest, pushing through muscle, bone, and skin like paper.

The third elder’s scream died the mont Aksai pulled his heart out from his chest, spine fragnts still sticking to his arm.

The late-stage Argent Realm Qi prowess was especially useful for such work. If the Qi t a certain standard of cultivation, it could directly breach a Spirit cultivator’s natural Spirit barrier, turning bare hands into the finest tools used by a well-equipped surgeon.

Blood poured from the elder’s mouth. His body twitched once, then fell face-first into the dirt.

Only the lady sect elder remained.

Her old hands trembled. She dropped the artifact, and it rolled away from her. Her legs gave in, and she knelt on the ground, sobbing.

The old lady sect elder then glared at Aksai, her wrinkled face twisted with anger and grief. Her voice cracked as she scread at him.

“You coward! You could fight like this all along and still chose to hide behind your army of puppets and pets! Do you even have pride as a warrior?!”

Aksai simply raised his eyebrows and slowly shrugged his shoulders. Then he spread his arms open, palms up, and started walking toward her at a lazy, unhurried pace. The blood on his hands hadn’t even dried, but his face wore a calm smile, as if it was grape juice.

“Hmm? Is this how one tries to sha others when things don’t go their way? You chose the wrong guy to use this tactic on if it’s the only thing you have to say right now.

Frankly, I don’t understand the concept of mindless fearlessness. What’s wrong with being a coward?” Aksai asked, his tone almost casual.

“If I had fought all four of you from the beginning, I would’ve been at a huge disadvantage. Forget the fact that there were four of you. I’m sure you still have a few trump cards in that storage ring of yours. You couldn’t use them on my puppets or my woodland demon bears, but you would’ve used them on if I’d jumped into the fight too soon. Am I right or double-right?”

He stepped over a patch of blood without looking down and continued speaking.

“Worst case scenario, I would’ve taken a fatal hit. Maybe even died. You’re a 9th stage Foundation Building expert. Despite all my advantages, that alone is enough to suppress head-on if I’m not careful. Not to ntion…” He smirked, tapping the side of his temple.

“I haven’t forgotten how you tried to assassinate the last ti. Who’s to say you wouldn’t have tried again during the chaos of battle when the chances of your success would have been at their peak? I am pretty confident in my Argent Body Realm but I will never say it is infallible.”

Aksai ca to a stop just a few steps away from her. He tilted his head slightly and gave a small laugh, one that was laced with mockery. “Also, do you think I’m stupid enough to fight on your terms? When can I make you fight on mine?”

The lady elder didn’t speak, but her hands clenched into fists on her lap, trembling.

“As for this whole ‘warrior’s pride’ thing you’re shouting about—” Aksai raised his hand and made a cutting motion through the air.

“What is it exactly? Can you eat it? Does it protect your heart from getting torn out? I don’t know anything about such an empty, mindless term. And I will never want to know ever in the future as well.”

He lowered his hand and looked directly into her eyes.

“I’m not a warrior. I’m a Spirit farr. I farm in peace, tend to my land, and squash bugs and pests that try to ruin my fields. That’s all. As a Spirit farr, I have no duty to be fair to people who want to kill . My only duty is to protect my farm. My crops. My peace.”

Aksai turned slightly and glanced at the line of puppets standing silently behind him. Then he looked back at the lady elder and pointed a finger at her.

You can’t burp in space.

Without gravity, gas doesn’t separate from liquids in your stomach — so burping turns into a mini vomit.
