’This insane regenerative speed... and he already has an agility-type Innate. How many Innate Spirit Spells does this bastard have?’

Saarken was deeply shocked as he watched Aksai recover again and again.

The speed of Aksai’s healing clearly surpassed normal standards. Saarken knew that even the combined effects of healing-type potions and Spirit spells would not be able to achieve what Aksai was doing right in front of him.

’This fight is getting dragged out for too long. And this bastard’s subordinates are wreaking havoc on Kalingoot’s base. No. I must wrap this fight up quickly and return to the base.’

Saarken stared at Aksai with burning eyes.

"Alright. I am willing to admit that you won’t fall within one or two moves," he muttered. "But you won’t win either."

Aksai wiped the blood from his lips and smiled faintly.

"I don’t need to win fast," he said. "I just need you to keep fighting."

Saarken finally lost his patience. He realized that Aksai might be right. Even though he was sure that he could crush his opponent even if the fight gets dragged on for long, he did not want to leave things to chance.

His eyes flashed with cold light as he raised his hand and took out a strange banner. It was long and narrow, made of dark cloth that seed soaked in shadow. Faint faces twisted and moved on its surface as if sothing was trapped inside.

"Let see how your healing powers deal with this," Saarken said in a low voice.

He poured his Spirit essence into the banner. The air trembled.

A wave of cold spread in all directions, and the temperature dropped sharply. Frost ford in the air itself, and a pale gray mist rolled out like a tide.

From the banner, one ghost appeared. Then another. Then dozens more.

In a few breaths, a full hundred yin soul ghosts floated in the sky.

Each ghost was half-transparent, with hollow eyes and long, thin limbs. Their bodies gave off a deep chill that pierced the skin and mind. Every single one of them carried an aura equal to a late-stage Foundation Establishnt Expert.

The space around them changed.

The sky turned dim and colorless. The wind howled like mourning cries. It felt as if the battlefield had turned into a frozen graveyard hanging in the air.

Aksai narrowed his eyes. This was the first 3rd Order artifact he had co across that could change the environnt around itself.

Individually, these ghosts were not a real threat to him. He could destroy them one by one if needed. But there were too many of them, and the banner clearly favored them. Their movents beca faster, their forms more solid, and their attacks sharper inside this ghostly domain.

Several ghosts rushed toward Aksai at once. Their claws passed through the air, aiming straight at his soul rather than his body.

Aksai dodged, but the cold followed him. His movents slowed slightly, and the chill tried to seep into his Spirit veins.

Saarken watched closely.

He had chosen this artifact after careful thought. Aksai had shown no strong fire-based attacks so far. Against yin souls, weapons and most Spirit spells were far less effective.

But Saarken had missed one thing. Aksai was not alone.

The draconic Bluewind Eagle beneath him lifted its head and let out a fierce cry. The sound rolled through the cold air like thunder, shaking the mist itself.

Flas erupted from the eagle’s body.

Bright red and orange fire wrapped around its wings, chest, and beak. The cold battlefield cracked as heat spread outward.

The eagle flapped its wings once. A wave of fire burst forward.

The first row of yin soul ghosts scread as the flas touched them. Their ghostly bodies twisted and burned, turning into smoke within monts.

The eagle opened its beak and released another roar. This ti, a stream of blazing fire shot out like a river, sweeping through the sky.

Dozens of ghosts were torn apart by the flas. Saarken’s eyes widened. It was only then did he realize how unusual Aksai’s demon beast mount really was.

"This beast... what kind of beast is this? It sowhat looks like the Bluewind Eagles that the Blackblood Sect uses. But those beasts certainly can’t be this powerful," he muttered.

The draconic Bluewind Eagle was only one step away from becoming a 3rd Order demon beast. Its fire-elent Innate Beast Spells were strong, pure, and deadly to yin souls. Plus, his mutated bloodline gave him an edge.

The ghosts tried to surround the eagle, but every ti they got close, they were burned away. Their numbers dropped quickly.

Aksai took this chance.

He stayed close to his mount, letting it deal with the ghosts. Green-gold light flowed over his body as he focused on healing his wounds. His breathing steadied, and his injuries closed one after another.

Saarken clenched his jaw. The battlefield he had created was still there, but its balance was changing.

While the yin soul ghosts struggled against the flas, Aksai recovered in peace. And once again, ti began to slip out of Saarken’s control.

Enough was enough.

Saarken clenched his fists tightly. His nails dug into his palms, drawing blood.

"If I can’t crush you cleanly," he growled, "then I’ll cripple you."

He bit down on the tip of his tongue and spat a mouthful of blood onto the 100 Yin Soul Banner.

The banner shuddered violently.

Crack.

A long tear appeared along its edge. The cold aura around it spiked wildly, turning sharp and unstable. Saarken forced more Spirit essence into it, ignoring the pain shooting through his chest and soul.

The remaining yin soul ghosts suddenly stopped retreating.

They scread together.

Their bodies began to lt and stretch, turning into streams of black mist. The mist rushed back into the banner, one soul after another, until the sky fell eerily silent.

Then Saarken slamd the banner forward.

A single massive ghostly claw burst out of the banner. It was no longer vague or transparent. It looked solid, dark, and full of killing intent. The air froze around it, and space itself seed to bend under its weight.
