Chapter 251: The Magical Level 4 Region
At this mont, the entire circular hall was exceptionally silent.
Everyone stared motionlessly at the screen without blinking.
So people even unconsciously reached out toward the screen, wanting to touch that lonely planet suspended within eternal darkness.
Li Ye’s gaze landed upon a continent.
It was precisely the Ruins Continent where the Tomorrow Alliance was currently located.
Within the satellite imagery, a gigantic cyclone over a thousand kiloters in diater slowly rotated like a gray-white evil eye.
He realized sothing, and his expression imdiately sank.
Clearly, that was the Atmosphere Demon.
At that mont, the satellite phone clipped to his waist suddenly rang.
“What is it, Bishop Albert?” he asked softly.
“We’ve already begun dealing with the super-giant demon shrouding the skies above the Ruins Continent.” Albert leisurely replied. “For the next minute, be careful of the sunlight.”
A trace of surprise appeared in Li Ye’s eyes.
“Be careful of the sunlight?”
Outer space, near-orbit around Blue Star.
A high-level weapon satellite belonging to the Apocalypse Sect, the “Heaven Punisher,” was already prepared.
Looking from afar, the Heaven Punisher resembled a floating chanical cathedral. Its savage yet precise structure emitted a cold tallic glow within eternal darkness.
Its diater reached a full 1.5 kiloters. The main body consisted of three concentric rings, and the outermost ring-shaped frawork was covered in honeycomb-like heat dissipation grilles that continuously vented pale-blue low-temperature ion streams.
At the center was the most horrifying part of this weapon satellite—
A concave mirror composed of 120,000 hexagonal mirror panels.
After receiving the ground command, the Heaven Punisher awakened.
All 120,000 hexagonal mirror panels simultaneously unlocked, flipping and deforming like scales within the vacuum of zero gravity, while the adaptive optical coating upon the mirror surfaces began to flow.
As the mirror panels completed calibration one by one, sunlight photons in outer space were precisely focused onto the mirror surface before being directly projected toward the skies above the Ruins Continent, forming a pure-white pillar of light with a diater of five hundred ters.
The gigantic cyclone floating above the Ruins Continent—or rather, the Atmosphere Demon—was directly pierced by the pillar of light, and a transparent cavity dozens of kiloters wide exploded open through its body.
As the Heaven Punisher gradually adjusted its angle, all 120,000 mirrors simultaneously calibrated their positions, weaving sunlight into a gigantic net of light that enveloped the Atmosphere Demon.
Inside the circular hall, Li Ye watched in astonishnt as the super-giant cyclone lingering above the continent began to boil and evaporate before finally disappearing completely.
“.......It was solved just like that?” he asked in disbelief.
From beginning to end, he had rely felt a slight increase in temperature.
What Li Ye did not know, however, was that the weapon satellite capable of effortlessly annihilating the Atmosphere Demon could completely roast any designated region on an entire planet.
Li Ye quietly let out a sigh of relief.
Now, he could continue deploying aerial combat forces externally.
As he relaxed, he continued watching the satellite-transmitted images of Blue Star.
The first thing entering his eyes was the Southern Hemisphere.
The Ruins Continent, situated at the edge of the world, occupied a southeastern corner of the Southern Hemisphere. Looking westward revealed an endless vast ocean.
Next ca the snow-covered and partially sunken Polar Continent.
North of the Polar Continent was Southern Continent, separated by the Southern Ice Ocean.
Western Wasteland Continent was located in the western part of the Southern Hemisphere. To its southeast lay the Taranis Ocean and Southern Continent, while to its west existed another unexplored continent.
anwhile, the central regions of Blue Star contained nurous continents of varying sizes.
Among them, the continent positioned at the very center had already completely shattered apart.
“This should be Oceanic Continent...” Li Ye silently thought.
His gaze shifted toward the Northern Hemisphere.
On its left and right stood two incomparably massive continents, with a smaller continent situated between them.
Further north of the Northern Hemisphere was a snow-covered continent—
That should be Northern Firmant Continent.
What shocked Li Ye the most was that the final continent of the Northern Hemisphere was actually moving slowly.
After careful observation through the satellite, his expression beca incomparably shocked.
This was actually a continent floating high in the sky!
After realizing this, everyone within the hall was likewise utterly stunned.
“A continent floating in the sky? What kind of power is making it float?”
“Unbelievable! This is truly unbelievable!”
“If it moved above another continent, wouldn’t that create eternal night?”
Looking at the moving continent on the screen, Li Ye silently made up his mind.
“When I get the chance, I absolutely have to go see it!”
......
Several hours later, the reconnaissance aircraft Li Ye had sent out returned with news.
The pilot had discovered a Level 4 region.
“A Level 4 region? Really?” Li Ye imdiately beca energized.
The Tomorrow had only just advanced to Level 4 and urgently required Level 4 resources.
What surprised him was that according to the pilot’s description, this Level 4 region was suspended in the skies above the Ruins Continent!
Within this region existed floating islands of all sizes, suspended mountain peaks, isolated forests hanging in the sky, enormous rock masses, and sky waterfalls pouring down from the edges of floating islands.
It resembled a heavenly paradise floating amidst the clouds.
Li Ye instantly developed intense curiosity.
Thus, he picked up the satellite phone and called Albert to ask for information regarding this region.
“Oh, the place you’re talking about is the Floating Island Zone,” Albert answered.
The Floating Island Zone was the most magical region of the Ruins Continent.
The region’s unique geological and magnetic-field structure allowed islands, mountains, rock masses, and forests to float within it.
The entire region possessed countless islands distributed without any discernible pattern.
Small islands were mostly ordinary natural landscapes.
But the large islands were entirely different.
Every large island possessed its own unique ecological wonder.
For example:
Lava Island, Mushroom Island, Mirror Forest Island, Ice Crystal Island, Sand Island, and so on.
Not only the islands—the weather phenona within the Floating Island Zone also ford natural wonders.
Flowing Cloud Galleries drifting at fixed speeds.
Lightning Gardens ford from electrically charged clouds.
Rainbow whirlpools several kiloters in diater...
And at the very highest point of the Floating Island Zone existed a supermassive cloud layer covering nearly half the area of the islands themselves. The cloud layer was extrely dense and had not dispersed for many years.
“I understand. Thank you for the reminder, Bishop Albert,” Li Ye sincerely said. “I’ll arrange for aerial forces to explore the area imdiately.”
Albert smiled faintly from the other side of the call.
“No, it doesn’t necessarily have to be aerial forces.”
“What?”
Atmospheric Ocean.
From Albert’s explanation, Li Ye learned of this bizarre phenonon that overturned the laws of physics within the Floating Island Zone.
It was not a traditional body of water, but rather an ocean composed of high-density gaseous fluid. Its viscosity was close to rcury, yet it flowed lightly like clouds and mist.
The entire Floating Island Zone was enveloped by this Atmospheric Ocean.
Whether tanks, warships, or Mobile Cities, any object could leisurely swim across the Floating Island Zone through the Atmospheric Ocean.
Several traces of astonishnt appeared in Li Ye’s eyes.
This Level 4 region was simply too magical!
The Floating Island Zone was not far from the Peninsula Zone where the Tomorrow Alliance was located—only slightly over two hundred kiloters away.
Albert also reminded him that many ascending airflow tornadoes existed beneath the Floating Island Zone. One only needed to ride them upward to soar into the sky.
Li Ye asked the two questions he cared about most.
First, were there any Monstrous Civilizations within the Floating Island Zone?
Second, if there were, did they possess Mobile Cities?
“I’m not sure whether the Floating Island Zone has any Monstrous Civilizations,” Albert honestly replied. “But I can tell you there are many Level 4 Mutant Creatures there.”
Fire Pengs with wingspans exceeding ten ters capable of breathing flas.
Skyhowl Rays with flattened bodies capable of firing high-frequency pulses that shattered the internal organs of prey.
Shadowblade Falcons whose semi-transparent bodies could refract light and beco completely invisible before attacking.
Crystal-scale Lizards with adjustable prism scales on their backs capable of focusing sunlight into attacks.
Cloud Jellyfish ranging from several ters to over a hundred ters in size, their bodies possessing gelatinous cloud-like forms.
The Floating Island Zone continuously produced bizarre Mutant Creatures, all possessing highly unique body structures and attack thods.
Before ending the call, Albert reminded Li Ye to be careful.
Li Ye then began preparing the exploration plan for the Floating Island Zone.
Since the Tomorrow Alliance still had to ensure the mining operations of the human engineering-type cities, they could not dispatch all forces at once.
After thinking carefully, Li Ye made his decision.
This ti, only the Iron Whale would depart as the primary Mobile City, alongside portions of the land, sea, and air combat forces.
The entire Special Forces unit would be deployed.
The land combat forces included Leopard 2A7V Main Battle Tanks, Rapid-fire Assault Bikes, Bullfrog chs, Torrent Heavy Tanks, and Protheus.
The naval fleet would dispatch two Wave-suppressing Destroyers.
The aerial forces would include gunships, reconnaissance aircraft, bombers, and fighter jets.
Although the Tomorrow itself would not directly participate in exploring the Floating Island Zone, it still needed to accompany the Iron Whale.
There were two primary reasons for this.
First, to deploy the land, sea, and air combat forces.
Second, if any Level 4 Blueprints dropped within the Floating Island Zone, they could imdiately be manufactured within the Tomorrow’s Production Workshop.
Aside from that, Li Ye also left behind part of the military force to cooperate with the Stardust and Peacemaker in defending the Peninsula Zone.
After arranging everything, the two Mobile Cities officially departed upon Li Ye’s command.
Ten hours later, the Iron Whale and the Tomorrow arrived at the edge of the Floating Island Zone.
After conducting so reconnaissance, Li Ye confird that the Floating Island Zone indeed possessed an Atmospheric Ocean and ascending cyclones.
He rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
The first thing he needed to do was choose an island as the military encampnt.
Just as Albert had said, the large islands within the Floating Island Zone were all extraordinarily unique.
Li Ye looked toward one particular island.
It was a Lava Island.
The entire island resembled a furnace abandoned by the gods, eternally burning with undying flas. Thousands of lava stalactites hung from the underside of the island, and these scorching lava flows constantly fractured during cooling, raining fire downward.
Li Ye imdiately dispatched reconnaissance aircraft for closer observation.
According to the pilot’s report, the island’s main body consisted of porous black volcanic rock, while its surface was covered in honeycomb-like lava tunnels constantly venting sulfur-scented steam.
At the island’s center stood a massive active volcano continuously erupting burning rock fragnts. After cooling in the air, these fragnts ford new floating island debris that orbited the main island like satellites.
Dozens of lava lakes of varying sizes surrounded the volcano, interconnected by countless steaming magma rivers winding across the black rocky shell like the veins of the earth itself.
Not only that, but nurous Mutant Creatures also inhabited the island.
Molten Giant Lizards exceeding five ters in length, their entire bodies covered in obsidian-like scales.
Fla-shell Crabs whose shells consisted of cooled basalt, their joints capable of venting high-temperature steam as they moved leisurely through lava lakes.
Sulfur Wingbats with wingspans several ters wide living within volcanic smoke plus.
Molten Core Worms covered in sucker-like mouthparts capable of directly burrowing through lava.
Li Ye could not help but gently shake his head.
Clearly, this lava floating island could not serve as a military encampnt.
After carefully selecting among the islands, he finally chose his destination.
A Mirror Forest Island.
This floating island was pieced together from countless irregular gigantic mirror fragnts. Every mirror reflected different scenes, and when sunlight shone upon them, the entire island transford into billions of glittering points of light, resembling a galaxy fallen into the mortal world when viewed from afar.
Between the mirror fragnts grew silver-white Mirror Vines. These half-tal, half-plant organisms continuously secreted new mirror-like material, slowly expanding the territory of Mirror Forest Island.
Through the ascending air currents, the forces deployed by the Iron Whale and Tomorrow steadily rose through the Atmospheric Ocean toward Mirror Forest Island.
Li Ye turned his head toward a certain direction.
There floated the two Wave-suppressing Destroyers just deployed from the Tomorrow.
Through their own propulsion systems combined with the special structure of the Atmospheric Ocean, the two massive warships leisurely sailed through the sky.
They passed through surging cloud waves, their bows splitting apart milky-white cloud walls while leaving behind cloud ravines stretching dozens of kiloters. Sunlight penetrated the drifting clouds surrounding the hulls, casting ever-changing light and shadows upon the warships as though draping them in flowing armor made of light itself.
“This is simply too magical,” he thought inwardly.
According to Li Ye’s estimation, the entire Floating Island Zone stood over two thousand ters above ground level.
Not long afterward, all forces successfully landed upon Mirror Forest Island.
Below them, the Tomorrow activated City Camouflage and signal-shielding systems before once again entering concealed status.
Li Ye was currently upon the deck of the Iron Whale, still personally overseeing this expansion campaign within the Floating Island Zone.
As for command of the Tomorrow, it was temporarily handed over to Lin Wu.
Mirror Forest Island contained very few Mutant Creatures and appeared relatively safe.
Most importantly, it was not far from the Lava Island—only one or two kiloters away.
Many floating forests and smaller islands lay between them.
Li Ye planned to use Mirror Forest Island as a stronghold to launch assaults upon Lava Island, hunting the Mutant Creatures appearing there and obtaining their dropped resources.
If they could obtain Level 4 weapons or Level 4 vehicles, that would be even better.
As for food and freshwater supplies required by the forces, the Tomorrow would dispatch Super Galaxy Transport Aircraft to deliver them—
Now these Level 3 Flying Vehicles finally had so practical use.
“So when do we begin the operation, Alliance Leader?” Fang Yong excitedly asked.
Not only him—even the others were itching with anticipation and eager to begin.
“One hour from now, we officially begin the operation,” Li Ye answered.
