In less than a second after the lift platform activated, a large number of Zombies rushed over.
So clung tightly to the edge of the lift platform, trying to climb up.
The people on the Armor Deck didn’t give them any leeway.
They imdiately took aim and opened fire, shooting down the Zombies one by one.
After returning to the Armor Deck, everyone let out a sigh of relief.
Li Ye, however, stood completely stunned.
Because he saw over two hundred people standing in the middle level.
"These are the people I had originally prepared to interview."Lin Wu rolled over beside him in his wheelchair at that mont."Didn’t expect the incident to happen so suddenly. I could only have them all retreat back to the Tomorrow."
Although it was a surprise, Li Ye had no ti to worry about it.
He quickly took back command authority from Lin Wu and began observing the situation.
This Level 2 Fortress had already fallen by 90%. The spot they were currently in was the only pure land remaining.
Survivors, Bounty Hunters, Caravans, and Mobile Cities had all gathered together. Everyone concentrated their firepower, firing at the Zombie Swarm pouring in from all directions.
Looking into the distance, the city wall had already been blasted open in many places. The Zombie Swarm poured in endlessly, including Zombie Convoys and Mobile Cities.
"No, we’re just barely maintaining the situation right now. If we can’t find a way to escape the fortress, we’ll be dead for sure."He shook his head repeatedly.
To rush through those breaches ant facing the surging Zombie Swarm.
And Zombies especially liked using their bodies to jam the wheels and treads of Mobile Cities.
Just then, a hand pressed down on his shoulder.
Li Ye turned his head and saw it was Fang Yong.
"Let go back to the Iron Whale!"he shouted urgently."The Iron Whale is a defensive-type city! In acceleration mode, it can crash through the city wall in one go!"
Li Ye’s eyes lit up instantly upon hearing this.
"I’ve got a helicopter right here. I’ll arrange for you to board it imdiately."
He arranged for Fang Yong to board the helicopter and return to the Iron Whale at nearly the fastest speed possible.
Once back on the Iron Whale, Fang Yong quickly issued commands, switching it into the mode previously used to defend against the Zombie Swarm.
With a loud roar, the Iron Whale began accelerating. The Level 2 City crashed straight through the thick city wall with astonishing force!
"Good!"
Li Ye’s eyes lit up instantly.
The Tomorrow and the Engineer followed closely behind, escaping the fortress through the breach in the city wall.
Other Caravans and Mobile Cities also turned around and fled along the sa gap.
During this ti, everyone reached a tacit understanding and opened fire at the oncoming Zombie Swarm.
The Zombies aboard the Mobile Cities clearly didn’t want to let the survivors go. They mobilized their Cannons and opened fire, including those large-caliber Cannons filled with Zombies.
With each booming roar, the Zombies attacked from afar like a torrential rain.
"What a despicable move!"Li Ye couldn’t help but grit his teeth.
He also had to admit, this tactic of the Zombies was both disgusting and extrely effective.
For human Mobile Cities, if the Zombies landing on the Armor Deck weren’t dealt with imdiately, they would spread like a virus across the deck.
This tactic was even more deadly than a Level 2 Cannon.
Even worse, these “shells” contained Level 2 Zombies like Tyrants, Webweavers, Corroders, and Screeching Banshees.
They had far stronger vitality than Level 1 Zombies. Once they landed on the Armor Deck, they could almost imdiately join the fight.
One unfortunate Level 1 City was hit. Its firepower on the Armor Deck couldn’t handle the large number of Zombies falling onto it.
The first casualties were the Combat Personnel operating the Cannons, Heavy Machine Guns, and Firearms.
As they died one by one and turned into Zombies, the ard forces of this Mobile City completely shut down. The Zombies surged over the entire city like a tidal wave.
Very soon, it ca to a halt.
"Actually, there are many other Level 2 Zombies among this Zombie Swarm, but I haven’t had the ti to introduce them to you yet."
Lin Wu ca to his side after getting off the helicopter, adjusted his glasses, and spoke.
Li Ye couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth upon hearing that.
"No need, I’m completely not interested, thanks."
He then headed up to the Watchtower and picked up the Binoculars to observe.
He saw that the city wall of the Level 2 Fortress had been completely blown apart, and a series of Zombie Mobile Cities were driving out, beginning to accelerate in pursuit of them, the Survivors.
Clearly, the Zombies had no intention of letting them go.
"Brother Li, are we going to fight them?"Ning Wen’s voice ca through the Intercom.
Li Ye thought for a mont, then shook his head.
There were more than a dozen Zombie Mobile Cities there, and several of them were of Level 2 scale. If the Tomorrow started a battle now, it would not end well.
"Tang Fang, use whistle signals to inform the Iron Whale and the Engineer. Everyone accelerate and flee together."
After more than an hour, they finally shook off the pursuing Zombie Swarm.
The three Mobile Cities then slowed down and began to drive at a leisurely pace.
Li Ye had Lin Wu take the helicopter to bring Zhou Xing and Fang Yong onto the Armor Deck of the Tomorrow to discuss their next steps.
The reason for not using the City Radio for communication was mainly due to its excessive energy consumption.
Just turning it on would consu 5% of the city’s energy, and a conversation of just over an hour would cost another 6%, which was unsustainable.
Fang Yong looked back toward the direction of the Level 2 Fortress and couldn’t help but shake his head repeatedly.
"Sigh, such a good Safe Harbor, and it’s gone just like that."
"It’s alright, Brother Fang. Maybe we can still find a new Safe Harbor."He patted Fang Yong on the shoulder and comforted him.
Li Ye, however, wore a solemn expression.
The two might not know the situation, but he was well aware of it.
There was only that one Safe Harbor in the Forest of Death.
And the situation deep within the Eternal Night Zone was completely unknown.
"So what should we do next?"Fang Yong asked.
"Looking at the direction those Caravans and Mobile Cities are fleeing, it seems like they’re evacuating from the Eternal Night Zone."Zhou Xing said casually.
Evacuate from the Eternal Night Zone?
Li Ye fell into deep thought.
If they were to withdraw from the Eternal Night Zone, the choices were limited to just a few.
Either head to the Basin Region or the Wasteland Zone.
But for the Tomorrow Alliance, which possessed two Level 2 Cities and one fully equipped Level 1 City, such options were unacceptable.
The resources in Level 1 zones could no longer et their needs.
"Li Ye, you are our alliance leader, so naturally, the decision should be yours."Fang Yong said.
In fact, even without being prompted, Li Ye had already made his choice.
The Tomorrow Alliance would continue exploring the Eternal Night Zone.
There were two reasons.
First, Li Ye was eager to understand exactly what the Eternal Night Zone was, especially the Zombies and the flesh-based technology they possessed.

After the two returned to their respective Mobile Cities, Li Ye turned his head to look at the more than three hundred people on the Armor Deck.
Now, he had a whole new pile of matters to deal with.
