"You really make it hard to tell what’s going through your mind. Are you even bothered by anything" Bolt asked standing across from Nicholas in the large test room, if anything it looked more like a containnt chamber.
"The ability to remain stoic gives an edge over any opponent" Nicholas replied calmly.
’The way he talks, it almost makes it seem like he’s the hero here’ Bolt thought with a wry smile, but his thoughts were quickly cut off as he noticed sothing odd, "Aren’t you ant to be with a weapon?"
"The lady should be handling that" Nicholas replied casually.
Selena who was watching from behind the mirrored wall, quickly turned to Dana with a questioning gaze, "Where is his weapon? Didn’t he pick one?"
"Well, he picked sothing... but it wasn’t exactly a weapon"
Selena’s brows knitted, puzzled, "Then what was it?"
Dana gave a knowing smile, "Why don’t you watch and see.... I think we might’ve underestimated him"
"Hmph, I never underestimated him... To be honest, he’s very different from all the others I’ve t, he has what it takes to be a great hero, if he wasn’t so annoying"
"Well, I guess he’s not the type to get bossed around like the others"
"What?! I don’t boss anyone around!"
Dana returned her gaze back to the room, her lips tightened, determined not to answer the supervisor, after a short pause she asked, "Also, when do you plan to tell him that you’re not the one who gets to decide how much he’s going to be paid? Even if he passes the test, higher ups would still have to decide if that is what he’ll be given"
Selena lit up her cigarette slipping it between her lips, "You don’t have to worry about that, do you really think he’ll win Bolt?"
"I wouldn’t want to bet on that..."
Dana’s eyes didn’t leave Nicholas for once, she didn’t know what it was about him, but one thing was obvious, he wasn’t the everyday newbie, "One more thing, do you have any idea what his desire was?"
Selena glanced towards Nicholas, the image of his hands on her boobs resurfacing in her mind, "That brat, if he had any abilities, it’d probably be manifesting boobs in reality" her face scrunched up, showing visible disgust and annoyance.
"Boobs?"
Selena’s eyes widened with embarrassnt, the sudden jolt making her cough on her cigarette.
"You really have an interesting history with this newbie" Dana said with a teasing smile.
"No—"
"Guys should we start?" Bolts voice cut them off, they had been waiting for a signal to start from the two.
"I’m sorry about that," Dana said, her voice echoing through the space.
"The rules are simple, anyone who falls on their back first, loses. We’ll be starting in three...."
Nicholas took in a long deep breath, his gaze sharpening as he stared at Bolt’s figure.
"Boy, I hope you’ll be able to keep up, without a weapon?" Bolt asked with a smug grin.
"...Two...."
"My weapon should be here soon" Nicholas replied back with a monotone voice.
"One!!"
Just as Dana finished with her count, streams of gases flooded the room.
Bolt quickly pinched his nose as the gases flooded the room.
’Is this poisonous?’ he thought, his gaze shifting to Nicholas who didn’t bother to cover his nose, ’I guess it’s not poisonous... then what’s the gas for?’ Bolt thought apparently confused as to why the gases were ejected into the room.
’Well, it doesn’t matter... I’ll end this fast’ Bolt thought, a confident grin on his face as he stared at Nicholas, who stood unfazed.
Streams of current flowed through his body, sparks of blue lightening crackling, his muscles tensed up and in fraction of a second, he disappeared from his spot.
A second was more than enough to end the fight between the two.
But in just a millisecond after his feet left the ground, his vision beca blurry, muscles felt weak almost as though the sparks of current went inward, rendering him immobile and the speed that had built up faded in an instant.
His hands hung in the air, just a ter away from Nicholas.
"You fought well," Nicholas said as he gently pushed him, even without much effort, Bolts legs wobbled like noodles as he fell on his back, completely stunned by what had happened.
Nicholas turned to the wall where Dana and Selena were watching with their mouths wide apart.
"I win"
Selena stared at the scenery with her cigarette hanging loosely at the edges of her lips before falling off.
"Bolt! This is not a joke! Get up and stop playing around"
’There’s no way he won that easily? He was also in the room... so it definitely wasn’t poisoned air!’ Selena’s thoughts were clouded in confusion.
Dana finally broke out of her own daze, letting out a chuckle.
"I absolutely had no idea that his plan would work so effectively. If they told defeating a hero was so easy I would’ve denied it"
"What do you an? There’s no way he won... Bolt’s just ssing around"
"He’s not, look he’s already unconscious... I should let them out of the room."
Selena looked back into the room, truly Bolt remained unmoving. Completely spent on the ground.
"Please leave the room Sir Nicholas" Dana spoke into the mic, her voice echoing through the room.
Just as she said this, a part of the completely white walls pulled open, revealing a passage way.
Nicholas montarily glanced back at Bolts unmoving body, "You should get him out of here, or he’ll die in 2 mins" he said as he casually walked out of the room.
"Well he’s definitely not the heroic type" seeing how he left Bolt knowing he could die in minutes, Dana couldn’t help but smile wryly, ’Did he gain a high IQ as an ability?’
Selena tore her gaze away from the room and glanced back to Dana.
"What the heck happened here?!"
