The task of blood testing for the subject was conducted by Black Crow Swamp. Here in the Enchantnt Control sector, there’s no thod to do so, and clinging to others for help is futile.

Garrett is indifferent to this. After all, requesting or exchanging thods for blood testing from Black Crow Swamp is nearly impossible. He sits on the plush sofa, continuing to listen as Madam Alva shares her research findings:

"If spells can cause the body to produce extra substances, then extracting these substances and injecting them back into the body might achieve similar effects as the spells?"

"We are unraveling the mysteries of spells!"

Garrett knows this is indeed possible. For instance, adrenaline speeds up the heartbeat, breathing, dilates the pupils, and neglects certain pains, achieving an effect similar to the "Inspiration Spell";

Similarly, oxytocin makes one relaxed, calm, cheerful, and more empathetic, sowhat akin to the "Charm Human" spell;

Moreover, he has reason to believe that dopamine and endorphins are related to spells like "Joy Spell" and "Enhance Joy."

He highly appreciates Madam Alva’s thoughts. At the sa ti, he shares so of his views amicably:

"The trace hormones produced after an Enchantnt Control spell or similar divine magic might not be secreted by the brain..."

Garrett knows, for example, the pituitary gland might be stimulated by a spell (divine magic?) to secrete ACTH (Adrenocorticotropic hormone), which upon reaching the adrenal gland, promotes the secretion of adrenal cortical hormone – and this latter has a higher concentration and is easier to detect.

Of course, such a statent cannot be made lightly to just anyone. Without experints, without finding ACTH, without identifying the linkage between the two hormones, speaking rashly can only backfire.

Moreover, if the way human bodies operate in this world isn’t as assud?

Garrett could only cite an example:

"I once treated a little patient who had angioedema from eating seafood, using a small gland above the sheep’s kidney. The Temple of War achieved the sa effect using the Inspiration Spell..."

"Oh!" Madam Alva took great interest, quickly recording:

"This discovery is crucial! It will save us many detours!"

The exchange was exceedingly pleasant. After sharing all recent findings, Madam Alva rembered her "Famous Doctor Creation Plan," and started complaining to Garrett with a smile yet not smiling:

"You leave for a month or two at a ti, see no patients, perform no surgeries. We were just starting to build your fa, and then it was interrupted!"

"...Do you still want to perform surgery for the lord’s son across the sea... What exactly is the prestige point requirent for this task?"

Garrett’s thoughts silently drifted for a mont. He then smiled and raised his hand:

"Isn’t that why I ca to you? I’ve returned ho this ti to perform a very important surgery – look, I’ve even written the paper!"

Saying so, he pulls out the paper from his spatial bag and pushes it slightly forward. Madam Alva quickly taps the table, and the round table suddenly expands, unfolding like butterfly wings:

The teacups, cinnamon powder cans, sugar jars, and pastry towers all move to one side, clearing a grand path for the paper. She takes the paper, flips through two pages, and her eyes light up:

"Interventional Surgery for the Treatnt of Patent Ductus Arteriosus: So Experiences... Is this about treating congenital heart diseases? Mage Nordmark, the significance of this paper is epoch-making! Leave it to , I’ll definitely get it published this month!"

Madam Alva keeps her word. That month, "Common Magician Monthly" features Garrett’s paper, and on the cover of that issue, a beating heart is printed with a surgical knife inserted.

Next to the heart, the journal editor crafted an extrely provocative title for Garrett:

"Entering the Forbidden Zone of the Heart"

The editor writes enthusiastically in the introduction:

"Heart diseases, especially congenital heart diseases, have always been a challenge in treatnt! It’s not that no one has tried, but typically, the way healing spells work is to guide the body back to ’the way it should be’ –

Injured, to before the injury; ill, to before the illness. But congenital diseases, ’the way they should be,’ is how they are currently manifested. Lower and middle-tier healing spells are almost ineffective.

And limited Wish Spells, or even higher-tier Grand Wish Spells, how many can benefit from their treatnt?

Now, Mage Garrett Nordmark has taken the first step in treating congenital heart diseases! It’s a small step for Mage Nordmark, but a giant leap for the entire field of healing!"

"Wow, Garrett, didn’t know you were so amazing." In the Oakwood dical Facility,

Priest Joanna, Priest Donald, and Priest Matthew look up and down around Garrett:

Although they knew little Avril’s illness was hard to treat, and the thod that cured her was powerful, they didn’t expect it to be this powerful!

Yet, Garrett is sowhat troubled. The research content of "Common Magician Monthly" is not high-end and is more approachable for low to mid-tier casters, hence its wide dissemination. One can imagine how many relatives of patients are now pinning their hopes on him.

But...

"They’ve hyped it up too much..."

Congenital heart diseases are diverse and complex in treatnt, often requiring the cooperation of a vast array of departnts like cardiology and thoracic surgery. Without extracorporeal circulation, without ECMO, without pacemakers, without dication...

There are many diseases he can’t cure!

Outside, the sound of wheels clatters. Much lighter than a few months ago, the sound stops at the hospital entrance – apparently, it’s the newly made rubber wheels from the Alchemy Workshop. From what Garrett knows, these wheels haven’t even been marketed yet.

The carriage’s crest is brilliantly golden, incorporating both daffodils and roses, and from Garrett’s limited knowledge of heraldry, the carriage’s owner is likely a distant relative or a mber of the royal family.

The carriage door opens, and a neatly dressed knight with a long sword hanging by his side nimbly jumps out. Turning around, he lifts a small boy out of the carriage and leads him into the hospital.

"Is Mage Nordmark here?"

Garrett steps forward to greet them. Without asking, a glance reveals the boy’s pale complexion and frail figure, clearly showing signs of ailnt. It seems he’s soone who read his paper and ca seeking help...

"This is Viscount Elwin’s eldest son, Chris Bane." The knight politely turns to introduce:

"We’ve co after reading your paper... we’re wondering, can Chris’s condition be treated?"
