Omniscient P.O.V.
Seeing the complete lack of embarrassed expression on Demian's face, Feng Ling clicked her tongue in annoyance before retorting.
"No need for that between us, kid. With the relationship between us, if we didn't act, then, wouldn't we be no better than those Demon Beasts who attacked us?"
Nodding his head, Sergei added, his usual peaceful smile adorning his face.
"Ling'er is right, Demian. As the eastern saying goes: 'A Master for a day, A father for a lifeti'. Although so people see it differently, in my eyes, it simply ans that I should act as a dependable guardian figure to you."
Pausing for a second, he shook his head and then continued, the matter-of-fact tone he used reflecting his conviction.
"How could I let you face death without doing anything I can to protect you? I would despise myself if I did that."
Although the guards stayed silent, the expression on their faces made it clear to Demian that their thoughts aligned with the other two—though it was probably due to the latter's influence more than his own charming personality—, bringing a wave of warmth to the young man's Heart.
His stoic expression softened instantly before he replied, his head bowed to hide the light mist slightly blurring his vision.
"No matter what: Thank you all. I will rember what you've done for and my family."
The three won in his embrace stayed quiet, letting him represent them to thank the group.
The gentle atmosphere lingered for a bit longer before it was suddenly broken by the arrival of another person from outside the piece of Void they were in.
Her smooth, blue-colored skin being mostly hidden by her body-fitting adventurer leather armor, and her long, unbound white hair gave her an air of refined power, strength, and beauty mixed in one person.
As soon as he arrived, the woman's silver-white eyes imdiately found Demian's figure, bringing a hint of discomfort in her heart when she noticed the three beauties embracing him, though it swiftly disappeared as she exclaid, a smile gracing her lips.
"I apologize if I'm intruding, but I simply wanted to make sure all of you were fine. Seeing you well, I'm truly relieved."
Whether the first part was true or she heard the previous conversation and wanted to remind Demian of her contribution, only she knew the truth.
No matter the case, though, Demian was not one to use people and discard them once they lost their usefulness, with his previous reaction being the best proof of that.
Thus, after patting the three won still hugging him tightly, he whispered.
"Can you let stand up, Loves? I need to thank Miss Silvenir over there."
As those words left his lips, the other three took back their arms and, along with him, stood up to face the rest of the group calmly.
Well, Seraphine did, her expression as serene as a deep pond.
However, the other two acted slightly differently.
Liya, despite her more 'advanced' age, felt a bit more self-conscious, with a light red hue adorning her fair cheeks, while Bryn felt completely mortified, her face now having turned dark gold, and her gaze drifting away from everyone else's to avoid seeing the judgnt in their eyes.
In reality, no one was judging them, at most being amused at how adorable they were.
However, humans' imagination was always very prolific, especially when it ca to one's worth.
While different thoughts traversed the three Mikhailov won's minds, Demian's expression turned peaceful, his deep-blue eyes, in others' gazes, hiding untold mystical secrets, creating a mysterious contrast with his gentle smile, to the point that even with her high cultivation, the Moon Elf still fell into a brief daze at the sight.
"I'm glad you ca, Miss Silvenir. Just like I've done for the others, I promise that I, Demian Mikhailov, will always rember what you've just done for . Unfortunately, I don't have anything to repay you for now, so you might have to wait a few years before I repay you. Speaking of which, if there's anything I can do for you, do let know."
That word 'anything' tickled the ever-suspicious Void Shadow Elf's danger detection ter, prompting her to narrow her eyes slightly at the other woman.
However, she could not deny the woman's risky act of protecting their group at the risk of her life, so she stayed silent while thinking.
'Don't think that just because you saved us, you can have a piece of my man. You may be almost as beautiful as my family's won and pretty powerful, but that doesn't change the fact that he already has three amazing won around him. That's enough. Ah! If I let any hussy in, wouldn't that man beco like those Emperors with 3000 concubines or sothing as ridiculous? Wouldn't I need to make an appointnt just to spend a bit of ti with him?'
Shivering at the horrifying thought, Sera added.
'No way I'm letting that happen! Also... I really need to get Mom and Sis to help fend off other won. Damn it! We've only been in Bright Star Island for around a month, and he's already attracting all sorts of thirsty won... The worst is that all of their cultivation is stronger than mine... No! I can't let it go on like this! I must improve my cultivation quickly, or I might wake up one day with a bunch of new 'sisters'. Even if my cultivation catches up with them, once those won bond with Dem, wouldn't it be too late for to refuse?'
Although she showed nothing on her face, the purple-haired woman's mind was anything but peaceful, sothing that Demian, who shared a Soul Bond with her, quickly noticed.
However, it was not long before he realized what was happening: It was the adorable woman's obsession with fending off other potential love rivals.
In this case, a certain white-haired Moon Elf.
Now, was he narcissistic enough to think that his smile could charm every eligible, beautiful woman around him?
Of course not!
It was reality, not a Marvel fanfiction.
However, even if he COULD charm any eligible won, he already had three amazing won lined up to marry him, with whom he had experienced so many things, from the happiest monts to those incredibly dangerous life and death situations.
No matter what happened, in good and bad, they always stood by his side, never even showing a hint of wanting to abandon him.
Knowing that, why would he ss that up by looking for soone else to 'add to his Harem'?
He was a fervent believer in quality over quantity, and although he was not against having multiple won as love partners, it was on the premise that it would not destroy his relationship with his current partners.
That was the reason behind his previous reluctance to turn his 'familial' relationship with Bryn and Liya into a romantic one.
Although he did have 'peculiar' feelings towards the two, if it was not for Sera insisting, he would have buried the thought deep in his Heart, no matter how painful the consequences of that action would have been for him and others.
Life was like that, neither completely white nor black, and many tis, perfect solutions did not exist.
In the end, it was rely choosing between what was more important for you and letting go of the rest.
In Demian's case, it ca down to his own principle of loyalty over other, more 'fleshy', considerations.
Saying he was against Lust would be hypocritical, but he also believed that letting it completely take control of your actions would only end in disaster.
It was especially the case for his current situation, with his astonishing cultivation talent now being impossible to hide.
As ti passed, he would certainly have to 'walk among a sea of captivating flowers', with them trying their best to entice him, and only by holding true to his conviction would he be able to keep what, and whom, he treasured most safe in his embrace.
It was not arrogance or delusion, but simply cold logic.
It was already the case in his previous life, where most people were extrely realistic, looking for superficial traits in their partners, beauty for n, and money for won.
It was not that having a beautiful wife or a rich husband was inherently bad, but simply that possessing rely those particular traits was insufficient for a fulfilling relationship, with any mishap generally resulting in the end of said relationship.
It was already bad then, when one lived less than a hundred years.
Thus, it could only be worse in his current life, where a single person's strength could be equal to a hydrogen bomb, people could live for thousands of years, and Demon Beasts could suddenly attack a city to refine all its inhabitants into cultivation resources.
Thus, the only important thing in most people's minds was to find a way to grow stronger, to find soone strong enough to protect them, or both.
When one thought that way, wouldn't Demian be the perfect choice for most won?
