In the afternoon, Mu Yan didn’t go to the hospital. She stayed at ho reading the script because in the evening, she had to go with Jiang Jingheng to the Jiang Family for dinner.
She hadn’t been back for several weeks, and wasn’t sure what those at the Jiang Family thought of her.
She rembered that last ti, her mother-in-law was unhappy about her rumors.
Around six o’clock, Mu Yan went back to the Jiang Family Mansion with Jiang Jingheng.
Every Saturday evening, the Jiang Family Mansion was especially lively. Both the main and second branches of the family would be present, and even the daughters who married outside would bring their husbands and sons back.
When Mu Yan and Jiang Jingheng arrived, the two aunts were already there, chatting in the living room.
Qiao Qinghe saw her and imdiately ca over enthusiastically, saying, "Hello, cousin-in-law."
Mu Yan nodded at him, "Hello, cousin."
She had a good impression of Qiao Qinghe; he was a very frank boy, and he seed to have a good relationship with Jiang Jingheng.
Qiao Qinghe’s gaze fell on her hand, his expression full of aning.
Mu Yan followed his gaze to look at her own hand, feeling puzzled. There wasn’t anything on her hand, was there?
"Mu Yan, don’t just stand there, co over quickly."
Mu Yan heard the voice and looked toward the living room to see Liu Xiangqing waving at her.
She let go of Jiang Jingheng’s hand and walked over.
As she walked away, Qiao Qinghe leaned in to Jiang Jingheng and said, "Cousin, how co I’ve never seen cousin-in-law wearing a ring?"
Jiang Jingheng gave him a cool look but didn’t respond, instead heading to the floor-to-ceiling window to watch Gu Tingchuan and Jiang Wenhao play chess.
Qiao Qinghe imdiately followed, asking, "Third cousin, don’t tell you got married to cousin-in-law without buying her a ring."
Jiang Jingheng ignored him, which only made him more enthusiastic.
"No wonder you’re spending so much money this ti. Otherwise, if I were cousin-in-law, I’d definitely leave you."
Suddenly, he sensed a cold gaze fall on him, sending a chill down his spine.
He quickly said, "Third cousin, I’m just joking, don’t take it seriously. Cousin-in-law loves you so much, she’s definitely going to be with you forever."
Jiang Jingheng withdrew his gaze and went to greet Jiang Wenhao.
Qiao Qinghe instantly breathed a sigh of relief. That look from his third cousin just now was really scary; he’d better watch what he says next ti.
Mu Yan walked into the living room and greeted Qiu Shufen, Jiang Zhengting, Jiang Zhengfang, and others one by one.
Jiang Zhengting frowned and said, "What’s Jingheng’s wife been busy with recently? We haven’t seen you back ho for a long ti."
"I’ve just been busy lately," answered Mu Yan.
"Busy making news every day? Our Jingheng rarely gets mixed up with gossip, but now you’re affecting him too," Jiang Zhengfang snorted coldly.
Mu Yan didn’t know where this second aunt’s anger was coming from. Her relationship with them was average, not particularly close, and she would only see them at Jiang Family gatherings. So, as long as she was polite and didn’t let them find fault, that was enough.
So, she said nothing and just listened to her talk.
"It’s not really gossip. It’s just letting the public know that Jingheng is married, so so clueless girls won’t waste their feelings on him," Liu Xiangqing said with a smile.
She held Mu Yan’s hand, signaling her to sit next to her, and said, "Co help choose the wedding dress and rings."
"Are you and big brother getting married?" Mu Yan looked at her with so surprise.
Liu Xiangqing seed surprised too, "Jingheng didn’t tell you?"
Mu Yan shook her head, "No."
Liu Xiangqing didn’t mind and smiled, "It’s nothing really; the wedding date hasn’t been set yet."
Qiu Shuyun suddenly interjected, "I say, Xiangqing, you can’t be casual about the wedding dress and rings. They must be from top designers in the world. As for the ring, Wen Hao should learn from Jingheng and get one or two rare diamonds from an auction because marriage is a lifeti event, and you’re marrying the first son and primary grandson of the Jiang Family, after all."
