Mu Yan sat at the dining table, watching Yu Ma serve dish after dish, filling up most of the table.
She couldn’t help but say, "There’s no way I can eat this much all by myself."
"I didn’t have lunch." Jiang Jingheng sat down next to her.
Mu Yan seed not to have noticed that their dining position had changed, and asked, "Why? Are you feeling unwell?"
"Yeah."
Mu Yan furrowed her brow slightly, "Where do you feel uncomfortable? Is it serious? Do you need to go to the hospital for a check-up?"
Jiang Jingheng looked at her, a hint of amusent tinging his light brown eyes, his voice brimming with joy, "I’m feeling better now."
Mu Yan was sowhat bewildered, but since he recovered so quickly, it must not be serious.
She didn’t think too much about it, picked up her chopsticks, and started eating.
"Drink more soup." Jiang Jingheng served a bowl of black chicken soup and placed it beside her hand.
"Thanks!" Mu Yan put down her chopsticks and started drinking the soup.
The soup contained red dates, wolfberries, walnuts, etc., with a sweet taste, very delicious.
"Yu Ma’s cooking skills are getting better and better." Mu Yan couldn’t help but praise.
Yu Ma happened to be serving dishes and was about to explain, but was stopped by a glance from Jiang Jingheng.
He looked at Mu Yan, "If you like it, drink more."
"Yeah, I’ll definitely finish it." Mu Yan said with a smile.
Mu Yan was indeed hungry and only stopped after eating a bowl of rice and drinking four bowls of soup.
After the al, Jiang Jingheng asked her, "Do you want to go back to the room and rest?"
Mu Yan wasn’t tired, but she needed to find ti to read the script.
"Then I’ll go back to my room first."
"Okay."
After resting at ho for two days, on Monday, Mu Yan got up early, ready to go to the hospital to accompany Mu Chen.
Just before leaving, she found that the shoe cabinet was filled with many pairs of sneakers, all in her size.
She turned around to look at Jiang Jingheng, who was coming downstairs, and asked, "Did you buy these shoes?"
"Yeah, if you don’t like them, let Lian Jun buy new ones." Jiang Jingheng adjusted his tie and walked over.
Mu Yan grinned, was he being petty? She picked a pair of "ugly" shoes from the corner of the shoe cabinet and put them on.
Jiang Jingheng’s light brown eyes flashed with a hint of surprise, "Didn’t you say they were ugly?"
"They are very ugly, but the ugliness is kind of cute, just like the person who gave the shoes." Mu Yan stared at the shoes on her feet, smiling brightly.
Jiang Jingheng’s expression was sowhat complex, was he ugly? Was he cute?
Oh well, as long as she likes them.
"I’m off to work." He said as he walked out.
Suddenly, he felt his clothes being pulled.
He turned around and saw her holding onto him, her clear eyes looking at him.
She smiled slightly, "Thank you."
Jiang Jingheng raised an eyebrow and smirked, "I told you, I don’t accept verbal thank-yous."
A silhouette suddenly leaned in close, his pupils tightened, and sothing like feathers seed to brush across his cheek, softly and tenderly.
Mu Yan’s face flushed red, she acted spontaneously; what he said about verbal thank-yous not being as direct as kissing him ca to mind.
She stuttered, "I didn’t an anything else, just... thank you. I’m leaving now."
Her heart pounded like a deer, she grabbed her bag and rushed out.
Jiang Jingheng didn’t chase after her, he leaned back against the shoe cabinet, touched his left cheek, and the corners of his mouth slightly turned up, warmth filling his light brown eyes.
Lian Jun had been waiting outside for quite a while, but Jiang Jingheng hadn’t co out, so he decided to go in and wait. He saw Jiang Jingheng standing at the door, covering his face in a daze.
He recalled how Mu Yan hurriedly left, even ignoring him when he called to her.
His heart skipped a beat; could it be that the young master wanted to do sothing beastly to her and got slapped?
Tut tut tut, no wonder she’s the Young Madam!
No way, at this mont he should pretend to know nothing.
Thinking himself clever, he left sensibly.
