Even though Mu Yan only fell asleep in the second half of the night, she still got up very early in the morning.
Despite Jiang Jingheng’s keen senses, he had no idea when she got out of bed.
When he got up and saw that Mu Yan wasn’t there, a hint of unease flickered in his heart, and he imdiately got up to find her.
Halfway down the stairs, he heard noises coming from the kitchen.
Jiang Jingheng walked over to see Mu Yan frying eggs.
She heard the sound and looked toward the door. Seeing it was him, she smiled slightly, "Breakfast will be ready soon."
Jiang Jingheng frowned, walked over, took the spatula from her hand, and said, "Didn’t I tell you not to touch the kitchen?"
If she got hurt again, he would be heartbroken.
"But I wanted to make breakfast for you." Mu Yan looked at him, her expression extrely earnest.
Sothing tugged at Jiang Jingheng’s heart; he couldn’t shake the feeling that there was a strangeness about her.
He said softly, "Then next ti let’s do it together."
"Okay." Mu Yan agreed.
She glanced at the eggs in the pan and said urgently, "Take them out quickly, or they’ll burn."
"I’ll do it." Jiang Jingheng turned off the stove and put the eggs on a plate.
Jiang Jingheng also finished frying the remaining sausages and blanched broccoli. The breakfast was finally prepared.
He went back upstairs to freshen up and ca back down to find Mu Yan had already set the table and was waiting for him.
Jiang Jingheng walked over and sat down beside her, "Didn’t I tell you to eat first?"
"I wanted to eat with you." Mu Yan smiled and served him a piece of bacon.
"Let see if you’ve eaten sugar this morning?" Jiang Jingheng suddenly leaned in and kissed her on the lips.
Mu Yan glared at him, "What are you doing?"
Jiang Jingheng’s lips curved into a smile, "You definitely ate sugar. So sweet."
Mu Yan couldn’t be bothered with him, and she looked down to have her breakfast, occasionally serving dishes into his bowl.
Jiang Jingheng watched her attentive gestures, a smile on his face, his light brown eyes deeply reflective.
After breakfast, Mu Yan followed Jiang Jingheng back to their room, helped him with his clothes, tied his tie, changed his shoes, and then saw him out the door.
After seeing his car leave, Mu Yan suddenly felt deflated, her tense emotions loosening.
She went back inside, sat on the sofa, and felt sowhat lost.
Is this really what it takes to protect her love?
Suddenly, her phone rang. It was Song Cheng’an calling.
"Hello, Brother Song."
"Going to visit her... doesn’t seem like a good idea."
"Okay, I got it. Co pick up then."
Mu Yan hung up the phone, frowning slightly. Song Cheng’an had called to ask her to visit Zhao Xiyue in the hospital to dispel the rumors of discord between her and Zhao Xiyue.
This morning’s news exposed that Zhao Xiyue had taken the female lead role in "Deep Palace Secret History" and so comrcial performances from her.
The fanbases on both sides were fighting fiercely, and Zhao Xiyue’s reputation was also declining, with so saying her car accident was karma.
She didn’t want to go and provoke Zhao Xiyue at this ti, but Song Cheng’an said it was what Zhao Xiyue’s side requested.
As he left the villa, Jiang Jingheng made a phone call.
