Mu Yan also didn’t expect to run into Ning Shishen here. A busy man like him, having this kind of leisurely interest?
"Mr. Ning, long ti no see." She nodded slightly and walked over.
Ning Shishen looked at her and asked, "How do you have ti to co to the art exhibition?"
Mu Yan smiled, "I should be the one asking you that."
Ning Shishen said indifferently, "I’m in design, so it’s not strange for to co to an art exhibition for inspiration."
"Well, I am just too busy with work, so I’m here to relax a bit."
Ning Shishen raised an eyebrow, thinking how she really couldn’t be outdone in conversation at all.
He suddenly recalled so rumors he’d heard recently, glanced around, and asked, "Did you co alone?"
"Mm." Mu Yan nodded.
Ning Shishen scrutinized her, trying to discern any unhappiness on her face, but she seed to be hiding it well.
Or perhaps she didn’t know about that matter at all.
He asked again, "Do you know Liuyun?"
"I guess so, she helped before." Mu Yan replied honestly.
"Do you have any pieces you’ve taken a liking to?" Ning Shishen asked again.
Mu Yan looked at the paintings on the wall and said, "I like all these paintings. You can tell she painted them with care."
Ning Shishen asked, "You’re an expert in this field, can you help pick one?"
Mu Yan looked at him, sowhat surprised, "You want to buy one?"
A wealthy heir of his caliber should be buying antique masterpieces, right?
Although Liuyun’s paintings are good, they are not yet at the level of collectibles.
"Yes, supporting young artists and also supporting so charitable work."
Only then did Mu Yan rember that half of the proceeds from this exhibition would be donated by Liuyun to charity organizations.
She nodded and said earnestly, "Okay, then I will definitely pick a more expensive one."
Ning Shishen chuckled, "Why do I feel like I’m about to be conned?"
His gaze swept over Mu Yan’s pure and charming face, a soft expression appearing in his eyes.
Even if he really got ripped off, he might actually be willing.
Mu Yan was just joking. Since she agreed to help him, she was naturally serious in making a selection.
Ning Shishen, however, had no interest in looking at the paintings; his gaze frequently, perhaps unwittingly, fell on her.
Suddenly, Mu Yan pointed at a landscape painting of autumn and said, "I think the brushwork in this painting is more delicate, the mountains and rivers are well-shaped, giving a sense of being there."
Ning Shishen ca back to his senses, glanced at it, and nodded, "Alright, let’s take this one."
He thought for a mont and said, "Miss Mu, could you pick another one for ?"
"Hmm?" Mu Yan looked at him in surprise.
Ning Shishen said solemnly, "As a gift for my brother."
Upon hearing this, Mu Yan’s smile beca more genuine, "Mr. Ning, you’re such a good brother, buying paintings with your brother in mind."
"I’m actually not that good of a brother. I went abroad to study early on, and by the ti I returned, he’d already grown up and had his own circle." Ning Shishen said with so regret, "I can’t compare to how close Miss Mu is with her brother."
Speaking of Mu Chen, Mu Yan’s heart softened a bit, "You are blood-related brothers. I believe that no matter how far apart you are, you both care for each other in your hearts."
"That’s right." Ning Shishen nodded, "Then I’ll trouble Miss Mu."
"No problem." Mu Yan turned her head to continue helping him look at the paintings.
Ning Shishen’s expression relaxed. Even though using emotional ties to get closer to her was a bit underhanded, it was a rare opportunity to encounter her, and he just wanted to glance at her a few more tis.
He followed her forward, listening to her appraise the strengths of these paintings.
She was the teacher, he was the student, and the distance between them invisibly shortened.
Suddenly, his gaze swept past a glaring yellow, and he instinctively looked over; it was a painting of sunflowers.
