Song Cheng’an had sothing co up and couldn’t accompany Mu Yan here, so he sent Luo Yao with her.
At the gala, Mu Yan was wearing a black and white striped jumpsuit, her hair tied in a ponytail.
She had a great figure, exuded confidence, and wearing high heels, she had a queen-like presence.
This was Mu Yan’s first ti attending a charity gala. All the attendees were social elites, and she didn’t know any of them. Holding a glass of juice, she stood aside, observing these people.
Afraid she might get bored, Luo Yao whispered so gossip to her, "You see that chubby, balding guy, he’s the chairman of a certain entertainnt company, and that pretty young model next to him is his mistress."
Mu Yan’s eyelids twitched; that man looked nearly sixty, while the girl seed not even twenty...
"See that tall, skinny middle-aged guy next to him? He’s in a high position at a certain departnt. The woman he brought is his wife, but look at them in their designer clothes. I don’t believe he’s not corrupt."
"That woman in the red dress diagonally opposite us, she’s famous for being wild. She hasn’t kept less than a hundred toy boys, anyway dozens. Her husband doesn’t care; they each do their own thing."
"There’s another case where it’s rumored that a father and son both fell for the sa woman..."
...
Mu Yan couldn’t bear listening anymore and just wanted to say, "The social circle is really ssy."
"Is this Miss Mu?" A deep male voice suddenly ca from behind.
Mu Yan turned around and saw a middle-aged man approaching with a wine glass.
She nodded, "Hello."
"Why is Miss Mu here alone? No male companion?" the middle-aged man asked, smiling.
Mu Yan replied calmly, "Of course not, my friend went to the restroom."
Luo Yao glanced at Mu Yan; did she have a friend coming?
The middle-aged man chuckled, "With how beautiful Miss Mu is, I’m really curious what kind of man would match you."
Mu Yan smiled but said nothing, though she was sowhat impatient inside.
These kinds of advances at a gala were nothing but obvious intentions.
The middle-aged man had no intention of leaving; he took out a business card and handed it to Mu Yan.
"My humble surna is Yang. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing your films, Miss Mu, and I truly admire such a talented actress like you."
Mu Yan glanced at the card, noticing it was from a well-known entertainnt company executive, and nodded, "Thank you."
The middle-aged man continued, "With talent like Miss Mu’s, if you co to my company, I’ll surely give you the best resources."
Mu Yan smiled slightly, "Thank you, President Yang, for your kind offer, but I have no intention to change my agency for now."
President Yang frowned, "Is it that Miss Mu doesn’t trust our company’s capabilities?"
"Of course not," Mu Yan denied, her gaze shifting elsewhere, looking for a chance to leave.
The middle-aged man glanced toward the entrance and asked, "Why hasn’t Miss Mu’s companion returned yet? Should I ask soone to find them for you?"
Mu Yan twitched her eyelids, "No need."
She was inwardly bracing herself; he probably knew she didn’t have a companion tonight, hence his persistent pestering.
The middle-aged man extended an invitation, "It’s boring for Miss Mu to be alone here. How about I take you to socialize a bit? Connections are the most needed thing for a star, and many big shots from politics and business are here today."
"No need, I’ll just wait for my friend," Mu Yan declined.
"It’s okay, when your friend returns, I’ll have soone lead him over."
"Really, no need. If he can’t find , he’ll be upset," Mu Yan replied with a smile.
The middle-aged man grimaced, "What? Miss Mu doesn’t show this courtesy?"
Mu Yan frowned; this courtesy was one she truly didn’t want to grant.
Before she could speak, a male voice spoke from the side, "Why are you here? I’ve been looking for you everywhere."
