The entire film festival went smoothly, but for the "Dragon Soaring" crew, it resulted in absolutely nothing.
Even the Best Film award, which seed most promising, was snatched away by a film from the UK.
Fortunately, Chen Zhou had experienced ups and downs and perford well on the spot, at least not showing any disappointnt on the surface.
As for Li Yushen, he had already won the Best Actor Golden Lion Award before. Winning this ti would be icing on the cake, but not winning didn’t matter much to him. After all, he’s not short on trophies.
After the film festival concluded, Chen Zhou invited everyone for dinner, bringing along Lin Jiamu’s group as well.
The group consisted of over a dozen people. Mu Yan naturally brought Jiang Jingheng along.
Since their relationship hadn’t been made public, his attendance at this gathering was solely because he was one of the investors of "Dragon Soaring" and happened to be in Venice, so he was invited by Director Chen.
Director Chen might be indifferent to all these twists and turns, but with Sister Wen around, these weren’t a problem at all.
At the long table, sitting beside Chen Zhou were Sister Wen, Jiang Jingheng, and then Mu Yan, followed by Lin Jiamu. Wang Linjia was seated with Sister Wen on her left and the lead actress from another group on her right.
Everyone chatted enthusiastically, with directors teasing the actors and actors flattering the directors, tactfully not ntioning the loss at this film festival.
Of course, as the most promising young man of Upper City’s top aristocracy, Jiang Jingheng received more attention.
Whether male stars or female stars, no one didn’t want to please him.
The forr wanted resources, and the latter had so other thoughts.
"How did Young Master Jiang find the ti to attend the film festival?" Suddenly, a woman sitting opposite Jiang Jingheng asked.
This girl was soone Mu Yan knew, Ren Yao. Discovered by a big director in her teens, she starred in a film as the lead actress, starting high. Unfortunately, she didn’t seize the opportunity well. The responses were lukewarm, and though she appeared in several films afterward, she remained lukewarm. Now, she was reduced to playing supporting roles.
But Jiang Jingheng acted as if he hadn’t heard her. Not only did he not answer, but he didn’t even glance at her.
Instantly, the atmosphere at the table beca a bit awkward.
Ren Yao didn’t know if he had heard her, but she couldn’t continue the topic.
After all, having been in the entertainnt industry for years and often dining out, she quickly ca up with a solution. She picked up her wine and said to him, "Young Master Jiang, it’s a pleasure to et you. Let toast to you."
Wang Linjia glanced at Ren Yao and made a gesture to Mu Yan.
Mu Yan understood her intent, looked at Ren Yao, then at Jiang Jingheng.
She always knew her man was good-looking. It was undeniable that upon first eting him, even in an awkward situation, she didn’t dislike him, partly because of his face.
She comforted herself then that being slept with by such a handso guy wasn’t actually a loss.
But now, seeing others look at her man like that, she wasn’t pleased.
She could only bla soone for being too eye-catching.
This ti, as Ren Yao toasted Jiang Jingheng, out of courtesy, anyone should raise their glass.
But Jiang Jingheng still didn’t want to give her that acknowledgnt, his expression cool and indifferent, his handso face void of any expression, maintaining an aloof deanor.
If he outright refused, perhaps saying he doesn’t drink, Ren Yao might comfort herself with that.
But he didn’t even glance at her, let alone engage her, as if saying she wasn’t qualified to speak or drink with him, leaving her, who prided herself on beauty, particularly frustrated.
The atmosphere beca awkward once more, but nobody wanted to save Ren Yao. In truth, no one wanted to be snubbed by this young master.
Ren Yao tried to shift the focus, raising her glass towards Mu Yan and saying, "Mu Yan, I’ve wanted to et you for a long ti and look forward to future collaboration opportunities. Here’s to you."
